  1. HAHA, I think you are!! Also... I know people get mad when they're told this... but why not trying eating around 1200-1300 calories a day, for a week, and see what happens? I really think 800 is too little, maybe you're starving, and holding on to everything you take in?
  2. So Marie got back to me and said that she agrees that I'm too tight, and should get a defill. Ahhh... if only I had a defill button. She said she spoke to Dr. C and he said being as I'm so far away, I should give it some time, if I can, and see if it loosens on its on. That's my plan! She also said I should make sure I drink low calorie nutritious things, if I can't eat solids. But I say, if I'm not getting much food in, I'm at least gonna make sure what I do eat tastes good. And I'm not saying I'm eating ice cream and cheesies. Cheesies hate me now anyways... :pout: LOL My boss at work here (where I am now actually) has this picture fetish, and puts them up on the companies blog alllllll the time, and he's been trying to 'catch' me. I've managed to create only really ugly shots so far, so he said he's going to keep trying until I give him a got shot, with a smile. Ohhhhhh noooooo. I keep thinking "Oh god, please just don't catch me with a double chin". I went to Walmart, and they had samples of "Gourmet Whey" to buy, so I bought a strawberry banana Smootie one... and I'm gonna give it a try. It's 23g's of protein! I swear, if it tastes like Optifast, it's going through the window. Oh yeah... last night, I DRANK A WHOLE GLASS OF MILK! I finished and realized what I'd done, and yelled to Dan "I just drank a glass of milk!!! Wooo!"... Oh the things I find exciting nowadays. Yes, Yoda, you created a monster, giving us our own threads. MMMMMUUUUUUUAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  3. Thank you guys, it's nice to see such a huge jump in the numbers.. and like I said, that's about a months loss in one week for me, so it's pretty crazy. Believe it that I WAS on the scale everyday, just to confirm that I wasn't insane and the scale was going down. I've almost missed the 230's completely, and that's the numbers I was looking forward to, cause that about where I met Dan, and the last weight I actually remember being. The 220's and less are whole new territory for me! Kim = I'm gonna yell at you. Don't worry about losing weight right now, seriously. *They* say if you lose anything at all before your first fill, you should take it as a bonus, cause that's not what you're aiming at doing right now for the first 6-sh weeks. I didn't lose very much at all before my first fill... like maybe 10 lbs or something, and that was mostly in the first couple weeks. 2 weeks before AND 2 weeks after my 1st fill, I stayed exactly the same! Then it started, and I lost pretty consistantly, but slowly. 0.6 here, maybe 1.4 there... sometimes I'd gain 2 lbs. It's gonna happen, just give it some time, and be as patient as you can! Now I'll hug you for yelling at you. It's tough love.
  4. LOL Jude! That's totally what I thought with my "Argon's Activities" thread! Now when I feel the need to blab about something non specific, there it goes! It looks like you're having about the same amount of fun eating as I have! For lunch today I had 4 shrimps! Wooooo! Ok, I chewed and spit out the last one! Hopefully you'll get the benefit of some good losing for all this suffering we're doing! That's great that you're getting some extra help with your mom. My mom has kind of the same thing. Luckily now, she's about to get some one to come in 5 days a week for about 3 hours at a time. It's funny that they limit the amount of hours she's "allowed" to have help, but make her pay for it (well, she pays half, and some government program subsidizes the rest). I actually wrote a letter to her 'case worker' and begged for her to get more help, because I was leaving and was worried about her being alone so much. I guess it worked, cause she got it... and never told my mom that I asked, which is good, cause I didn't want to embarass her. I think everyone who wants it should start their own thread, for their own ramblings and daily goins-on.. . Like "Cloe's Conundrums", or "Yoda's Yodels", or .... "Kim's Kinkiness"... "Devana's Debauchery" ... "Loriely's Liasons" ... "Wheezy's Whispers" LOL Oh... the fun we could have!
  5. Ahhh.. you must! ****drumroll**** 233.6 - So, I've made my 8lb goal for the month, at least! (I wanted to get to 234.2) And, this now puts me at a total of 50 point something pounds lost! Finally!
  6. Haha! That's funny that she told you what to eat! I can totally see her doing that! I hope that this fill is good for you! Keep us updated Mandi
  7. Hi guys! I'll be posting my super fabulous weight tomorrow. Boy oh boy, it's exciting. I'm thinking I've lost about a month's worth in the last week. What was my goal for the month? Hmmm... I better go check, cause if I make it, this'll be why! I emailed Marie today, asking her if I should be worried about myself. I had some cheese and crackers for lunch. Then nothing until I got home (9pm)... and I noticed I wasn't really hungry. I ate anyways, cause I need it. We bought this giant shrimp ring, and it's been sitting in the fridge, and needed to be eaten. I managed to have a few of 'em. Of course I only had about 1/5 of my share of the shrimp, so I'll pack some for lunch tomorrow. Anyone have any idea for something to do with already cooked shrimp? If I thought I could eat it, I'd make a shrimp alfredo or something. Stay tuned tomorrow. Trust me, I won't be bragging. I'd pass up this weighloss for a big glass of milk and some... hmmm... enchiladas! Well, no... but you could keep a few pounds and let me have my goodies! Talk to you guys soon! Oh yeah, welcome angelbear!! Mandi
  8. Loriely, So do you just not eat in the mornings? Are you not hungry at all until 1 or 2? Canadian Sunshine, Hi! Back, and with a picture!! You're a pretty gal   Yoda,

WOW! Vera, you look great! Congrats on everything!!!
  10. Sorry all, I have to chime in. As someone who's talked to Yoda in great lengths, I want to jump to her defense in saying that *I* don't think she meant what she said as you took it. Saying what she said to you, by PM, was probably for the best, as it obviously isn't a popular opinion, at least not 'publically'. Has anyone said it's probably not a good idea, or that they are, or know of someone who did something similar, and wish they hadn't? Noooo. Do some people think it? Damn rights. And c'mon... "have a good one :)" ? Why can't that be sincere? Are you going to be up to driving lessons when you're 60? Or walking him/her down the aisle when you're 70? Maybe you are. Lots of people have and do. Will you be a best parent she could ever get? Probably!! If you're up to the challenge, I say go for it. I'm 25, and I *know* I couldn't handle a baby, even now, or probably ever. I'm not saying that that's wrong. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it. Obviously you've got lots of love to give, and this baby is very deserving. If it feels right to you, do it. I'm soooo not the person to be giving advice, especially about this and I know that, so please don't be offended by what I said. I'm just blabbing random thoughts about this. Good luck with what ever you choose. <-- and that is sincere.
  11. Yeah, I'm making sure I'm keeping up with my vitamins at least. Cheese is workin' good for me... hard cheese, dipped in ranch dip. LOL I also had a successful cup of tea tonight, before 'dinner', and it went down perfect. I was so happy. I guess no cold water for me anymore, at least not for a while. I have these bathroom 'issues' if I drink coffee first thing in the morning, before eating, and now that eating is out of the question, first thing in the morning, I'm hoping I can now have some tea, and then chase it with some of the lovely Mini-Wheats I bought today! Oh, guess what else... I just might be getting my contract to sign, hopefully tomorrow! Whoo! Oh yeah.. you know what else!!?? I will be getting a fabulous new 27" tv next week... to replace the tiny 13" we have! I left *my* tv at my parents house when I moved (hooked up), and last week, they had a big storm, lighting hit (and destroyed) a tv in front of their house, and fried 2 tv's in my parents house, including mine. (strangely, the one in the living room, which was to only one turned on, was fine) Soooooo... their insurance is replacing the TV's, so I'm getting them to order them from Sears, and have mine shipped here! Yahoo! Next step: cable maybe?!
  12. Good luck Jude, let us know how the fill goes! I know who you're talking about... posting about the 1000 cal's a day. Keep in mind that she started 140lbs heavier than you, so that's definitely not someone you want to be comparing yourself to! (if you're thinking "she lost 100 lbs in 7 months, so I should have lost 40 by now" or something like that) Mandi
  13. I'm anticipating a good weigh-in for wednesday!! Of course, not because I've been weighing more often than I should.
  14. Hey guys, Oh CLOE... I wish I could eat half of what you did! I'm drooling just thinking about it! I can't even do crap :D I though cheeto puffs would be a good soggy thing to gnaw on last night... and then I think I slimed for about an hour. It wasn't like my last what I thought were slimes. This was like a deep down 'stuck' feeling that wasn't painful as all, like they usually are. It was just a very odd feeling, and I felt like I needed to burp, but thought if I did, something would come up. Well... I finally went and leaned over the sink, waited until I felt a burp... then.... BLEH! clear-bright orange coloured gloop of slime! Did that... went and sat down again, until I felt like I had to do it again... and did. It was pretty gross, but sooo weird. My 'slimes' before have just been a super watery mouth... maybe this was a real slime. I very well could have had 'em before, but never actually burped it up. LOL... how's that for some details?!
  15. You can have mine, I don't want it!!!!! (yay! The board's back up, just in time for me to go to bed. )
  16. I'm glad you enjoy my misery :pout: LOL, just kidding!
  17. So... I was getting a little worried. EVERYthing was on the verge of getting stuck, whether it was chewed the crap out of, or just sipped (like water!). But this mid-morning, I was soooo hungry, I decided to give a pepperoni stick a try (man, I don't know what would possess me to try THAT of all things...I should have tried something easy). Anyways, I ate it, and then had a couple more, with NO problems! I was sooooooo happy! I haven't tried eating a real meal yet, cause I'm still scared, but I'm sure it will be ok. I was very upset last night, and wishing I hadn't got a fill at all... that I should have just held out with what I had. All I ate yesterday was half a pudding... half a cup of tea.... some milk... and I think that's about it. I was pretty miserable. I was thinking about what I could possibly do. I told myself (and Dan, who was freaking out) that I wanted to wait and see what happened, that maybe it would loosen up on its own after a bit. So anyways, I am SO happy. It's so crazy that it went like that. I was kinda freaked when all of a sudden I could swallow with ease. (don't get me wrong, I never couldn't get anything down. I could drink, and I could eat, it just wasn't worth the 'stuck' feeling I got everytime I tried.) Yay for me. :clap2: No need to rob a bank and fly back to TO... or hold Dr. Beausoleil hostage until he takes a cc out ... or try to instruct the emergency room how to do it! Honestly, the thought of someone poking and pushing on my bruised belly was what made me now want to do it the most. UGG! I should take a picture.
  18. Hi Pickle, I do know of a girl in Manitoba... I think in Dauphin, who's family doctor has been doing her fills for her for about 5 months. She was also banded at the TLBC, so maybe you could ask them about this. She has developed a leak somewhere, which may or may not have been caused by her family doctor doing her fills for her. I'm sure this can happen to anyone, even if you went to the TLBC for fills, there's always a chance of something like that happening. I'm just not sure what the liability is if something like that happens and say your port or tubing needs to be replaced. Can your surgeon say, "Well hey, I didn't do it!" She's yet to figure what she's going to do about it, but I'll let you guys know when I do. If you really want to know, I can find out the info from her. Mandi
  19. Try following these instructions, guys: http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16218&highlight=ticker
  20. Hi Wheezy! Welcome! Come back and browse away as soon as you're feeling better. Mandi
  21. As of today, I'm up 0.6 lbs from last week. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
  22. Oh my, so much action here!! New people all over the place!!! And Neenagh is here again! Welcome, you guys!!! (Yoda, yeah... I knew about the DVD thing, and it's definitely a possibility later on, if I find a good Dr here, and I can't get a fill... again! Dr. Cobourn used to do the DVD thing too, apparently, so... maybe he's got some leftovers kicking around that he'd give me if I was desperate enough!) I hope you all post lots, and keep us updated on how everything goes, and is going... and everything! Mandi
  23. Hi Tagger! Welcome. There's ONE girl that I know of for sure on here, from Canada (from BC actually), who went to mexico a few months ago, and is doing really well. You can search for her posts if you go to the advanced search, then type in the 'author' area, ragergirl. That's her name on here! Good luck
  24. yeah, I felt guilty about not getting anything when I was there, so I was all giddy when I found this cookie to give him! LOL Actually, the one I went to was in ... Burlington! Probably not the one by you, or is it, Kim?
  25. Hey Loriely, I have the Inamed 4cc - 9.75cm band. I actually already had 1cc in, she just added 0.5 more. (well... I 'lost' 0.1cc, so she technically added 0.6) I actually didn't feel a thing when she added the saline. She asked if I felt anything, and I said "Did you do it already?"... so nope. Kim, sorry, didn't know where I was going or where I'd be! Every Dr. is different with what they tell you to do before and after a fill, also. My surgeon says to try something soft/mushy-ish a few hours after. Some places make people stay on liquids for a week afterwards! It just all depends on what your Dr. says. (like with everything, I'm sure you're noticing! LOL)
