  1. Dinner tonight! Onto week 6 no groceries
  2. I have a few follow up questions: 1. Have you done a pouch reset? Like go back to the main diet of protein shakes and soups for a week. I also recommend highly doing a Whole30/90 to really commit to whole, nutrient dense foods and detox your body and make yourself aware of allergies/reactions. 2. It is clear from your post that you struggle with food addiction and sugar. Are you attending counseling? Have you spoken with your surgical team or dietitian? Vitamin and blood work ok? 3. Detox sucks and takes work. The first week without junk and sugar are really hard, but as it clears your system you'll feel better and stronger. Do you have a friend/buddy who could do it with your or be an accountability partner? 4. How's your hydration? You need to make sure you're getting enough plain fluids. Head hunger vs.real hunger vs. Thirst are all signs that are important but difficult to learn without practice. 5. Finally, exercise. Are you moving consistently for 30-40 min. A day to get endorphins up and move your muscles? Close to 10k steps? Just some thoughts, not trying to be preachy or rude. Background: 16 months post op vsg, down 170 pounds. EMT and coach, counseling background, former college athlete. I got the surgery due to complications from Cushing's disease but know a lot about addiction and nutrition.
  3. Dinner! .75 cup egg whites, 1 egg, .5 slice gouda, .5 oz shredded cheddar, 100 grams roasted potatoes, salsa and green olives. I haven't gone grocery shopping in 6 weeks and it's KILLING me. But I'm cleaning out my freezer/pantry so progress?!
  4. Sigh.....salads used to be my favourite and now I can't do them. Truly breaks my heart.
  5. How's your iron/vitamin D intake? Protein macros? Hydration? Also, how rapidly you move. I have to be careful of that because I'm usually rushing too quickly, and this was ESPECIALLY true the first 12 months out of surgery
  6. Grilled chicken sandwich without the bun at Milwaukee Burger company. Tossed the fries. Also, a Friday funny
  7. Survived Thanksgiving weekend friends! My family enjoyed zucchini lasagna (ok I enjoyed it but they tried it haha) I then proceeded to bake about 15 dozen cookies: Hershey kiss blossoms, peanutbutter cup Cookies, and chocolate chip pecan Peanut Butter with some maple Protein Powder thrown in. Bonus: 3 loaves of zucchini banana bread Made a quinoa/cucumber salad, super light and fresh. Something I LOVED before surgery was salad. Like...last meal death row loved. Ever since surgery I can only handle about 2 bites then I need to toss but this one is delicious it.
  8. Yeah! I made sauteed mushrooms my side but grilled chicken is and option on their menu!
  9. Kids meal at outback! Ate it in two meals 3 hours apart
  10. I'm struggling y'all. All I can seem to force myself to eat is chips and peanut butter cups. I haven't worked out in about a month and I'm working 15 hour days. Any advice or tips? My mind after 13 years of competitive swimming and a year of broth, jello, shakes etc for pre and post op is like "hell no...but slight exception for candy". Otherwise I just don't want anything.
  11. Meal prep today! Crockpot Doro Wat with brown rice rotini

  14. Pics from the weekend! Piada street food: meatballs with sauteed zucchini and mushrooms, power vegan salad ( cheesecake factor), add feta. Gluten free cheesecake, zucchini banana oatmeal cups (breakfast/snacks through week). Meal tonight: cucumber feta vinaigrette salad with chicken apple sausage. Bonus pic- I wore my HIGH SCHOOL swim suit to work today! And officially hit 153 pounds down. With room for chai lattes and cheesecake;)
  15. Tonight's dinner: a baseball sized turkey meatball with a drizzel of alfredo and marinara sauce. I ate half today, half tomorrow for lunch. $3.17 because it was half price apps for happy hour!
  16. My surgiversary is 8/27/19, so far I've lost 145 pounds. I'm about 50 pounds away from my personal goal.
  17. Everything omelette for breakfast, no sides.
  18. Lol this is true, which is why I freeze them in 4 oz portions. But that "individual" pizza, the omelette I got for breakfast, the double scoop of ice cream all won't travel 3 hours in a car well. Pizza for dayzzzzz
  19. Love it! I'll have to try it once I'm not drowning in leftovers haha
  20. Dinner tonight: "Hot Honey pizza". Andouille sausage, bacon, grilled chicken, caramelized onion, spinach, bleu cheese, walnuts and mushrooms with mozzarella and a light spicy honey glaze. Gluten-free crust- only ate one slice I also had several mini teriyaki meatballs.
  21. Have you tried davids tea? Soooo many flavors and lots without caffeine! Currently drinking apple spice non caffeinated. I LOVE them.
