    Thanks for helping me get through the holidays! Currently increasing my exercise and learning how to eat only to fuel my body. But overall feel successful getting through the holidays!

    4) working out with trainer and thinking I need to add something non my days off ....
    5) lost 9 lbs in the challenge so far
    6) an emotional week and it was my husband’s birthday. He would have been 50 this year ... we lost him far too young :( but I’m moving forward. So I’ll take the two lbs I lost and keep moving forward.

    6) today is my four month post op and I’ve lost 60lbs, which feels amazing! However i didn’t hit the gym as much as I should this past week so this next week exercise is my focus.

    3) I’m a loser baby!
    4) already worked out three times with my trainer ... woop
    5) 3 lbs so far
    6) doing great and feeling no stress about the holiday! Spending it with close supportive family and sticking to mainly Protein and veggies. Probably a bite or two of a roll and pie filling, but I’m fine with that as I’m creating a lifestyle not a ‘diet’ .

    4) only got in two workouts this week with my trainer, had sick kiddos at home :/
    5) lost 4 lbs in the challenge so far
    6) this was an off week for me, lots of work, little time at the gym, and sick kids. Taking it for a loss and continuing on!

    My magic date was 8.8.18, and I’m down 57 lbs! It seems to slow, then speed up, and then repeat lol. I am working with a trainer at the gym, doing cardio on my own, and happy with where this journey is taking me :)

    6) check in: I was actually looking for something that was going to focus on the holidays, so this is perfect! I’m hitting the gym hard with my trainer and it feels great! Although I notice I seem to be grazing a bit more than usual, nothing unhealthy so I can help but wonder if the increase in activity means my body wants a few more grams of Protein. Hmmm :) good luck with this first week everyone!

    Checking in!
    Weighed in this morning at 176.2, so down 1.4 from challenge starting weight.
    I actually exceeded my goal of DDPY last week and worked out 5 days in a row This week I will a bit short and only get 3x's. I ended up getting a terrible chest cold and took off Monday & Tuesday. Will get back on the wagon and workout this evening after work.

    Going to my parents house for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I'm excited to visit and spend time with family, but I always seem to do poorly tracking my intake and portions when I am there (holidays or not)...so I'm going to try to practice more self control and be more diligent in journaling my intake.

    We're having TG with my brother and his fam. I'm bringing some things I know we can eat and turkey always works. No stress about it. Looking forward to visiting!

    I’m 3.5 months post op and am sticking to a 40 - 65 carbs per day. But this is mostly complex carbs in my healthy food. I eat whole grains but no bread/pasta/rice etc. but it’s also not an exact science. Everyone’s body reacts differently, as well as we all have different providers. But it is fun to know what everyone else does ;)

    Yes carbs are energy. No one here is on a 100% no carb diet.
    Many of us have a low carb plan. If you eat over your carb goal for the day it may slow or stop your weight loss. Best to listen to your professional medical advice. Call them and get clarification. You are paying for them. Get your money's worth💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲.😉
    Ask your Dr. Dietician give you a carbohydrate intake range. Find out what carb food sources are on your plan ( Not all carbs are created equal) Wishing you the best,

    Side note: You are going to get many responses of "what you should eat" from strangers in a chat room. Most mean well, but they do not have your medical history etc that your surgeons office has.

    I'm in! (At least for a day or 2... haha. Notoriously bad about follow-through on challenges. )
    Challenge Starting weight: 148.4lbs Current weight lost: 138.6lbs Losing or maintaining weight: Losing!!!!! (slowly) Working on Goal#2 - 140lbs Fitness/exercise goal: Exercise 6-7 days per week with 3 days being strength building with bands Total weight loss at the end of challenge: (Post January 1st 2019) To Come Check in: Tell us how you are doing - (How is your diet and exercise plan going? Any struggles? Stress level? What have you overcome? Any strategies that have helped)--I'm starting the challenge strong. Very little stress heading into Thanksgiving. Don't have any worries about over eating or eating "the wrong things." Have an action plan to work through in order to stay on track. Am in the process of weaning off of my last BP drug, so that does represent a little challenge to me.

I ate when I was sad, when I was happy, when I was mad, and it was my coping for when I became a young widow. In September we passed his 9th angel day, and I was more emotional than I have been in years! But I realized, it was because I wasn’t using food to mask my emotions! This journey is allowing me to deal with my whys ... why did I eat, why was I sad, etc. Therapy, soul searching, and support are all a piece of that for me. I wish you all the best in your journeys 💞
