I haven't experimented with it because clearly it isn't a trustworthy company, plus also, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. If every other Protein on the planet is vile and this one is practically undetectable, something is fishy. What concerns me is that they might start finding out about shady claims from more companies. Even Premier has less protein than advertised. Not much, but still, it is important when you are really dependant on every gram.

Change pharmacies, if for nothing other than principle, because the pharmacist should not be giving you the third degree. Unless you are doctor shopping and getting prescriptions from a bunch of different doctors or there is something else that seems shady, they shouldn't be harassing you about your medication. I use CVS and I was given my post op meds (about 3 days worth of Percoset) without issue. In my state prescriptions are filed electronically so that there is no question about whether or not the doctor ordered it, and there is a database for controlled substances. Does your state follow the same protocol?

I'm a bariatric baby, but I love this comment. No one becomes morbidly obese and qualifies for weight loss surgery unless they have a problem with food except for the rare person with a medical issue that can only be solved with severe calorie restriction (I have PCOS and depression but I know that is responsible for only part of my weight gain, not all or even most of it). It bugs me to see how quickly people forget their pre-surgery life and become judgemental. There are people on this thread questioning this man's mental health because he ate a small amount of Protein. He didn't eat an entire cake or a gallon of ice cream.

You can tell the truth without discussing your surgery: Portion Control, low carb, seeing a nutritionist, etc.

I was lucky enough to have single port surgery through my bellybutton, but I have used Vitamin E (straight from the capsule, use a needle to puncture it) and Mederma with success for other scars. Microdermabrasion, peels and Retin-A can help as well, ask your dermatologist.

Not quite at goal, but I'm beginning to think this is where I need to be. Total of 72 lbs lost in 8 months. I feel incredible inside and out. Finally broke down and bought much needed clothes.

Here’s me. Sorry for the shirtless pics but I think it helps show my luck with scars and loose skin.

    Starting Weight: 268lb
    Surgery Date: 10/30/17
    Surgery Weight: 250lbs
    Goal Weight: 180lbs
    Current Weight: 144lbs

For the most part, I loosely stick to my food plan. I do venture outside of it often but I workout 6-10 hours a week, so it balances out.

I’m so glad I made this life changing decision! I love my new body and all of my health problems have gone away!

    PS thank you Kaiser!

Only my husband and mom know and I don't plan on telling anyone else. People are ignorant about the surgery and are judgemental about it, and I don't need negativity, nor do I need anyone asking a million questions. I don't like discussing my personal health issues with anyone.

Thanks for the advice! Thankfully, I definitely feel restriction, and I can only consume a max of 2 oz. of most foods. I just am surprised that I have no problem with chicken, turkey, shrimp, etc. Some foods do sit in my belly like a rock (protein bars and once I made a little Protein pancake, oy, that was heavy) but I can handle most protein just fine. In fact, in my very early stage I found thicker protein like ricotta went down smoother than a shake. Weird.

I don't bother with bringing things to heat up, I just bring my own tiny version of a Starbuck Protein box, bringing things like cold cuts, cheese sticks, cottage cheese, tuna or chicken salad, cold leftover shrimp or chicken. You can do hard boiled eggs if you dig those, nuts, cut up veggies and hummus and fruit since you are a few years out and probably eating fruits and veggies. I also keep emergency food at work, as FluffyChix recommends: tuna packets, Peanut Butter, low carb crackers, Protein Bars. I work in a busy urban area so I can always run out and grab something, but I try not to do that often because that just makes me face tempting sights and smells like pizza, fast food and bakery goodies at a time of day when I am usually under stress and my resistance is low. Pinterest has a lot of suggestions.

That surgeon should lose their license to practice medicine. That is positively sadistic and cruel. I know that there is a lot of legal pressure on doctors to not prescribe opioids but this is for surgery! I am having my surgery in the morning, and I am relieved that the instructions I was given specify that I will be sent home with Percoset.

I have told coworkers and family but I’m hiding from everyone that I’m getting surgery in Mexico. When I initially told them everyone was against it, then I said I’m getting it in San Diego now everyone ok. I don’t like lying I just want them to support my choice and trust that I did all the research

Yeah, I'd have emergency rations stored in my locker, then just bring my daily lunch.
I'd do easy (things not requiring a knife... haha) and repetitious.
    turkey rollups
    lettuce wraps
tuna/cottage cheese/egg salad and cucumber slices
boiled egg + leftover meat diced with grape tomatoes
    Soup in a insulated thermous
    Salad in a jar
    leftovers from the night before

I don’t know how to respond on here yet, but want to tell Swanton_Bomb that I had the same experience with feeling like I could easily eat too much food. My nurse told me that my pouch was still healing, and that in a few weeks or months the full feeling would come. And it did! I met others like myself. For me, when I find myself eating slider foods, or eating fast, I visualize the bite I am swallowing scraping along my small intestine doing damage (Gastric Bypass). It always helps me to put on the brakes. I am two years out now.

I'm actually a little worried that I seem to be tolerating almost everything well. The only time I almost threw up was when I tried to switch from chewable vitamins to the big pills. Tonight (6 weeks out) I tried broiled shrimp, and while it filled me up quickly, it went down fine. I can only eat a tiny bit but most foods feel just fine, and I worry that I may be able to eat too many things too soon.

I don’t think I could tolerate it that soon, but steak is not an unhealthy food, it has tons of Protein and if he is getting a doggie bag, he seems to be following the plan, no? He’s not taking down a buffet or eating even eating a piece of cake, just a piece of protein in a small portion. I think the “how” is a reasonable question, but not the “why”.
