Does Barium Make You sick?
I am not allergic, but it sure purges the system...

What Grinds your Gears?
ALL of your stuff, plus MUMBLERS!! I seem to have married one. I ask him a question and if I am lucky he mumbles a response and I only have to ask him to repeat it 3 or 4 times. The first time he repeats it is at the same volume but this time with his back turned. I usually have to give up before I understand. If choking someone out of frustration was legal... Then again, he will interrupt an important task, for example, reading directions on the freeway, to have me look "over there". This is where I whip my head around only to wonder what I am supposed to be looking for. He wants me to see someone in a car, or a new business, or a dog. Geez, just typing this is making me hostile. I need someone to screen my interruptions. We have a "rule". I have permission to either ignore or get angry with the third thing. I am only obligated to split my attention two directions. Add a third and it is your head. Fair? I think so.

Kiwis, any advice?
Everything that was safe to eat before is still safe. Pineapple, oranges and limes are fibrous and acidic. Either one of these qualities may take some getting used to until you either learn...or give them up for good. Kiwi isn't exactly fibrous if you skip the skin and should be fine, especially if you blend it in a smoothie or something, Yum. Are solids OK at this point? Maybe you are irritated from forcing yourself during healing? Just a thought. If you are having troubles, call the doc.

If it were up to you, what laws would you create?
"child molesters" and "bullet in the head" go together really well. Who cares what we can learn from them. I am seriously considering adding this to my signature line(s)!! I am also loving the semi / highway tax reform. I have missed or nearly missed many exits because I was unable to read the signs until I had almost passed them. Ooh, make the trucks (and port cargo containers) lucite! Easier to screen... OK now I am just ranting... stopping now.

pressure in throat
I get this when I have a lot of spit or phlegm. The stuff floats on water and tries to get out. Try drinking warmer water, or tea relatively quickly if this is what you think it may be. The warmth opens the stoma and the tea/water helps to dissipate the foam. It isn't a lot of fun to cough up, especially newly banded, ouch. About the incision, call your doc if you think it is infected. It is going to hurt for awhile. Nasty twinges and burning. Redness, oozing, or swelling around the edges of the incision are worth a call to the surgeon.

If it were up to you, what laws would you create?
What if the tax breaks were taken from married couples but applied to households. Then seperated couples would have an easier time getting their info together and would be unable to go decades dodging taxes. Roomates (like sibs) who decided to stay single could reap the benefits of a stable household and those who had 'issues' with 'non-traditional' (human only) couples could sleep at night. Now we only need an established church to support same sex union and 'freedom of religion' can start working for the liberals too. I think it is about time. Maybe the athiests should unionize, what say you Wheetsin?

Or worse, they get out of the crowded lane and into the ending lane... speed right up to the merge and force themselves back in! *shaking fist*

I like yours! Mine is less creative: I think headlights should be required if your wipers are on. I got one, the people who exit the freeway, then cross over and re-enter just to dodge a chunk of standing, rush-hour traffic. It should cause severe tire damage. Selfish, selfish people.

clarification needed please
That is restriction, or at least what mine feel like. Congrats, you found it! Yeah, the drugged fullness feeling is gone, but hunger is much less troublesome than pre-op. I feel good about the trade-off.

Gone for Good Club - June 2006
Long time no see, y'all. I just wanted to suffer in silence with my two month plateau. I have had a fill now and am back on track. My how you all have shrunk! I am currently 279, down 6 pounds for the week, 33.8 total. Thanks P'nut for not deleting this no-show-er.

Not a mod, but if you click the little blue arrow/box next to the title, you go to first unread. If you hit the box next to the most recent poster it goes to last post. If you do not want to unsubscribe from each thread individually you can set up preferences on the options page. If you want to subscribe to a thread without posting, use thread tools at the top of each thread. It took me awhile to figure it all out, thank you for making me feel...seasoned.

Folding Sheets, or, My Idea Of Hell
That is too cute. Sheesh, sheets. My husband can fold the fitteds because he has longer arms and is taller. Whenever I try, I drag 'em across the floor and can't reach into two pockets at the same time. It's a pretty big mattress/sheet. I can usually get him to do it by leaving the "folded" (rectangular ball of) sheets on top of the dryer for him to look at. He sees the lopsided pile and feels sorry for them. For the most part, I love laundry. With almost no effort, matted-down, dirty things go into one machine and come out of the other machine all warm, soft, and yummy smelling. Towels are the best. Then again, I only have one child and I stay at home. This is the rant page, maybe you guys should rant about how good I've got it...

What's with the BAD Breath?
Something we discovered on one of the other breath threads... Are you doing whey protein during the fast? It is very healthy but makes your mouth taste (and smell) like you licked a barnyard critter. Soy is less offensive, but less healthy too. Yeah, sugar free mints are probably the way to go. Congrats on your upcoming surgery.

Sound Off -- Foreign Object in Yo' Belly
Funny, I have an IUD too, I never thought about it being there when I was all dried up because it is only good for five years. I hope I have longer than that... So when they crack open my casket, they will find a fat girl who got some. That, I can live with. Thanks Randi, for making me feel a little less freaky. What if we are both messed up?

Sound Off -- Foreign Object in Yo' Belly
I have no idea what they are, but I'm nosy/curious. I wonder if I have them. About having an inorganic device installed - I am weird, but I am slightly freaked out that future archaeologists, upon finding my remains, will know I was MO. Or will spend a lot of time trying to figure out what it did. Is that too abstract? I decided to take self-conscious to a new high.

another fill...VERY nervous!
Lianna, WOW, can I sympathize! I thought I had it bad, but you have it much worse. I get nervous and have a hard time taking a fill. I can't imagine how scary it would be to swell afterwards... My last fill was kind of creepy, their documention was off by a full CC (they thought I had a 1.6cc first fill when I had only taken 0.6cc) and my second fill doc may not actually have been in my port to give me the fill I thought I had. Whew! As irked as I am at the recent mistakes, I can only hope that they are mistakes and that I do not have a slow leak. If you do get the fill, make sure you communicate with them not only during, but about the post-fill swelling. It can be more expensive to sneak up on restriction, but dangerous to jump into it feet first. Take care and lots of luck!

caffeine?
I think it is about hydration, caffeine pulls water from the system making it harder to heal, it raisies your blood pressure which can increase your risk of bleeding, it also speeds you up and has always made my stomach grumble, which is a big no-no for healing stitches. I am a coffee drinker who took a break to get banded.

*Emphatically nodding in agreement* And at least rayon is humane, what is that scratchy synthetic that they make into summer clothes? You know, the pieces with exposed elastic in the waist...

Where did I go? Who am I now?
My mirror is a liar too! And the camera is a cruel nasty thing! Love you all for this thread, for your vulnerability, and for your striking similarities to my life. The last time I lost 100 pounds I was ready for the change. I felt that I had trapped myself in a box, a dark, tight, fat-suit shaped box. As I lost weight my personality was able to slip out and reach out to those around me. I learned to like strangers and to not fear eye contact. I regained all of it. There is safety in persecution I suppose. Being invisible was the unwritten contract I had with the world. Just reminded of another thread where one of us was Mooed at. Read it? I think the reason why this kind of attention is so hurtful is because it is 'Breach of Contract'. I didn't sign up to be a clown... I am invisible, remember? The asexual person who ignores everyone else, please, just ignore me too. I am so ready to get on with this. I am finally losing and can't wait until this time next year, or even next month. Next month, if I keep losing, I will be at, or below my pre-pregnancy weight! Woo Hoo!

Plateau from hell. (Hope thats how you spell plateau :) )
(((Gina))) I just had a fill on Tuesday! Before the fill I had been on a six week plateau from heck (yeah, you spelled it right). I was starting to joke about how I had wasted so much time, energy and money. Now... I have dropped the five pounds I had been playing with (on, off, on, off) plus three more. Much of this is water (probably), but I am still LOVING it. Where you are right now is incredible. 47 pounds? What size is your band? Are you restricted? It can take 4 to 6 months to find restriction although a few get it right away. Have patience and take this time to master your skills: Water, Protein, and Exercise These determine not only the speed at which you lose, but how healthy (and healthy looking ) you are when you near goal weight. If you are in a bigger band you might think about an adjustment.
