No, I will be doing mine at a hospital in Boston. I am thinking of going to Mexico down the road for plastics though.

I'd go with fake procedure. My fake procedure is going to be a hernia repair. At work, I am the only female, so I'm going to say it is lady business related. That'll shut em up real quick. : )

Jingle123423 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Reconsidering Goal Weight
Gosh, you sound like me. I'm 5'2 and in my 20s I was always around 125. The psychiatrist said that because of my age, it is an unrealistic goal (I am 45). How old are you? What has your doc said?

Told the people at work that me and 4 others in my building put $1,000 each into a pot and the person who lost the most weight by years end wins.(Dec 31, 2017) I told everyone I came in a distant second. Now, I tell everyone we have a second bet, who can keep the most weight off by years end. (Dec 31, 2018) In the building I tell people , it's a bet with 4 others at work. So far so good. BTW, I'm winning the bet for the most weight lost being kept off.

Jingle123423 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Need Advice on Talking to My Wife about WLS
Of course you would like her support and approval, but at the end of the day only you have to live in your body. You have to make decisions based on that.

If you want to have children soon, I would warn against Depo Provera. I was on it off and on for years. It takes so long to get your period back after going off of it. Upwards of a year for me personally.
You may have some anecdotal reason to be anti IUD, but it is far more effective than just about any other than option.

Jingle123423 reacted to Krista27 in Yay!! My NSV!
So today I was trying on jeans at the store. I literally have no jeans because it’s been summertime and I’ve been wearing shorts. Well now my shorts are all huge on me. Anyways I fit in a size 11 comfortably today. When I had surgery in Feb. I was in a 20...

Jingle123423 reacted to FancyChristine15 in Office chair NSV
I had to go to another building for work today. I’ve been to this other office before; the last time was right before surgery. Well, the office chairs that they have there are more narrow than they are at my office, and in the past it’s been an issue. The arms of the chair would dig into my hips, which made sitting very uncomfortable. Well, today I sat in one of those chairs, and there was no digging! I was able to sit very comfortably! Yay!

Jingle123423 reacted to CNCAnn in I have a desk job and getting a sleeve
I’m headed to BariatricPal Mexico to have a gastric sleeve at the end of this month. I have a desk job and when I had my gallbladder out last year, I was only out from work for about 5 days. I was sore and got tired easily but I was fine. I’m hoping it’s about the same recovery time with the sleeve surgery. When did you all go back to work?

Unfortunately not all cals are created equal and sustained weight loss is trickier than cals in cals out. What are you eating? Carbs as in bread and Pasta or carb counts (macros) ?
You may need to reconnect with your team for a revised plan and do a bit of research to get over this hurdle. Google (scholar) and YouTube (Doctors,NUT,Trainers) can be great resources
Research glycogenolysis, gluconeogenesis, lipolysis, and ketogenesis.

Do you log your food? You lose weight in the kitchen, not in the gym, the saying goes....

Jingle123423 reacted to BigViffer in Worried about my wife
Actually, it is impossible to create new muscle tissue when you are eating fewer calories than your body burns. It's kind of a law. (Conservation of mass). If your BMR is 1500 calories and you can only eat 1000 calories, you absolutely cannot create new muscle tissue.
Now you may be able to have the existing muscle tissue live up to it's potential, increase in size comes from blood and Water engorging the tissue. As the muscle is worked, it can hold more. In the case of building new tissue, the above happens as well, but now you literally have more muscle fibers that are holding more blood and water.
@Biggamehunter - perhaps the forum members suggest you get help because you are so angry and taking it out on strangers on the internet? I don't see this as a your side/their side situation. I have no bias one way or the other. I'm just here to answer a question. If you want help from these people, you need to be more personable. You are not endearing enough to make anyone want to help, only argue.
Hope you and your wife can come to a consensus on what to do next.

Jingle123423 reacted to Missouri-Lee's Summit in Mr. Stinkybreath
While this article isn't specific to ketosis-breath or "camel breath", it does offer suggestions that may help. Spoiler alert: no mints of any kind, they just mask the problem and make it worse. Does this mean you're destined to chewing on parsley leaves all day? Maybe.

Good thing you're not a woman. Camel toe and camel breath. That's an embarrassing combination.
