  1. Well, my weight gain is from menopause. I'm sure of it. Again my diet is in check, I have restriction(sweet spot). I drink the green drink Dr OZ, most morning's and piece of fruit. Lunch and dinner consist of fish and veggies on a small saucer plate. Snacks consist of low cal cheese, grapes etc. I will admit I cheat a couple of times a month(small cheats). I take care of my parents weekly, watch my grand-kids 1 to 2 days a week, plus work out 2 or 3 times a week on my treadmill... Just saw my doctor this morning, he wants me to add in lite weight training. The only prescription meds I take are the biodentical hormones. No depression meds. Since nov of 2011 I have gained 22 pounds.... Good luck to All. Thanks!
  2. To Jachut, I'm glad you are so much better:). I just started biodentical hormones two weeks ago and the night sweats and hot flashes are gone.. I'm sleeping a little better now. I hope the weight comes off as well. My eating habits are in check, exercise is not so good... Hope to get on track with that soon! I also heard b12 and vitamin d3's are good for menopause. Thanks!
  3. Any weight gain? If I have restriction with the band, why am I not losing weight? I eat very little everyday! Not to mention, I eat health foods, very health, I might cheat 1 time a week. And that is a small amount...
  4. I have had my band since 2008. Had to have many unfills due to acid reflux, I now have 5.5 in my band, I started out with 7.0 in my band. Well to make a long story short, I have gained 22 pounds back, I have restriction which is good I think, after not eating much and some exercise the weight has not come off... About a month ago I realized I'm in menopause with the sweats, depression and everything that goes along with menopause... The weight gain is from this nasty menopause... What do I do???? I have good restriction and still gaining weight! My doctor seems to think I'm crazy? Anyone with this problem?

  6. Hello ladies, I got my upper hi results today, my doctor decided to take all fluid out of my band for a coupe weeks, to see if the small slip will correct itself. I hope so, I don't think I will try for surgery if the unfill does not help. I'm upset!!!! I have not had my band empty since 2008. Hope I can maintain for a few weeks, until I get my 2nd barium test. Not sure what diet I need to be on! :(

  8. I will keep you posted on what happens on Monday, I see my doctor.
  9. Well ladies, I had my upper gi done today. The doctor just called me and I have a slip!!!! OMG! Again the only thing I had was being to tight and acid reflux, I have had several fills and unfills. Once I get the unfill I get relief, no night cough no acid reflux. So I must decided to get this repaired. I had gained weight with the unfills but no other symptoms. I heard that if you had a slip you would have all kinds of issues. If I had not had this procedure done today I would have never known. I might have this done I'm not sure what to do.
  10. Hey heidib, I spoke with you several weeks ago about the same issue on reflux and needing unfills, I went to a new doctor today(close to home), I explained my issue with acid reflux and always needing an unfill and gaining weight. He told me that this is becoming very common with a lot of band patients, he also said that lapband surgery was the big crazzzz about 5 or 6 years ago, now the new thing is the sleeve surgery. The lapband has to many problems with acid reflux! Well, I was pissed off about that. I have no plans on getting more surgery to change with the times. His game plan for me is to do a barium swallow and check my band. He seems to think I might be one of those patients that has reached a peak with the band and I might have to work hard on my own to reach my 150 goal weight.

  14. Heidib, how is it going since your fill the other day? I see my doctor on Monday. Hoping to get a fils small fill. Just don't want the night cough or reflux. I'm trying to get to the green zone as well. I might do the 5 day test after my fill on Monday.
  15. Heidib, I refuse to give in and have my band removed, unless there is a medical issue. I feel if I have the band removed I will gain the little I have lost. I will continue to fight this battle and speak with my doctor on how depressing this is. Some folks are having great success and others are not. Please think about it before giving up. I just ordered some protein shakes, I also checked out https://sherrybellingham.myvi.net/products.html this lady has a story about her weight loss success and she has great info on her new shakes. Please read her story, I just ordered shakes from her on yesterday. This is not the answer for my problems with the band, but I'm willing to try anything to jump start my weight issues. If you decided to order, or anyone who wishes to order let her know Gwen referred you to her site. Good luck to you !!!!
  16. The 5 day pouch test????? Has anyone heard of this and does it work or help????
  17. Thanks, I guess I'm puzzled. I was in green zone last summer I was doing wonderful. I was down to 172, and feeling great. This year has been a mess, I'm still not sure what happened. I also hear stress plays a big part in why the band is too tight, yes I have had my stress lately. I'm not sure if stress is an issue with the band. As far as revisions, I'm not sure what that means. I hope this will help ours with this battle.
  18. Thanks Cocoabean, you look fantastic!!!! Do you have any advice on how to get on track! I'm not sure what to do next. I will speak with my doctor this week and see what he says, but it is always good to get help from someone who has been successful with looking wonderful. A doctor sometimes does not know the ups and downs of this battle. Thanks Gigi
  19. I'm taking dexilant for acid reflux, now that my band is only 5.8cc I only need the meds if I eat or drink something I should'nt.
