  1. Pureed is not technically permitted on full liquids. Only the broth. But if you're unsure I would check with your NUT. Thinned out creamy soups, any broth... key is you want to get an early start on your proteins.
  2. Yes, laptops are allowed in carry ons. Lithium batteries are not permitted in checked baggage.
  3. I love bento boxes, I bought a few and used them prior to WLS, I'm looking forward to being able to use them again once I eat more than 2 - 3 oz at a time
  4. How will my body adjust? Our bodies are an amazing organism, they adjust - it takes time, but it does adjust How much loose skin will I have? I think everyone is different - and could also depend on how long you have been overweight and the skin has stretched (so to speak) How will I start going to the gym? what kind of workout can I do? do I need a trainer? How did you start going to the gym before? Just walk through the doors and go. In the beginning (pending your plan) I was only allowed soft cardio, mainly walking. At the 1 month mark, I was cleared for more strenuous exercises Does everyone get nausea & gas? (Any tips to help) I don't think so on the nausea, I did not have any post surgery, occasionally if I eat something my pouch doesn't like. Gas, was a huge factor in the two weeks following surgery, walk walk walk, drink, drink, drink - use the spirometer EVERY HOUR What was it like to go back to work? I went back to work a week later and I was a little tired, but took a nap when I got home and it re-energized me to get through the evening. I started off working 6 hours days and by the end of the week I was back to 8 hours days.
  5. I love them, I like that some of them have the size imprinted on the bottom so if I'm lazy one day I can use it without the food scale out. But I also use my food scale to ensure I'm not wasting food. I laugh because I bought them when I tried the 21-day diet and failed and wondered what ever would I use this "tiny" containers for... and here we are years later and they are paying off tenfold.
  6. I bought some kids tupperware lunch containers, but it was actually the 21-day fix containers that have worked the best for me because they are pretty much already measured to the portions we require - Then I just empty onto a paper plate to heat, etc. Here's an Amazon example. https://www.amazon.com/Prefer-Green-Containers-Label-Coded-Multi-Color-Coded/dp/B01N0VIYN9/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1538677330&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=21+day+fix+containers&psc=1
  7. If your directions say full liquids, then it's full liquids, no chunks, no chewing. Everyone's plan is different... Water Broth Jell-O Decaf tea Decaf coffee Sugar free Popsicles Sugar free jello Sugar free drinks that are not carbonated Thinned Creamy Broths / soups Protein Shakes Diluted Milk Diluted no-sugar added juice Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero, electrolytes without sugar Overall if you're unsure, I would follow up with your NUT or surgical team
  8. I rarely use protein shakes anymore unless I'm adding it to decaf coffee. I am getting my 60g of protein in daily, my surgery was 8/20 - It sometimes takes up to 6 meals a day, but it's doable. Tuna Creations has flavored tuna and salmon with 13-16g protein, coupled with cottage cheese - 20+ grams of protein per serving. Yogurt - Dannon Light and Fit Greek and Oikos Zero is 15g of protein per serving The idea is to now slowly ween yourself off protein shakes and move to more solid foods to get the necessary proteins. It's out there, you just have to not be as picky and accept this is for nutrition. My meal portions are no larger than 3 oz and are usually more so around the 2 - 2.5 oz mark.
  9. just meet you protein and water goals... 60 and 64...
  10. It looks like you just had surgery 2-days ago? I wouldn't worry about calories.. worry about getting your protein and water goals met, honestly that's the most important thing to be concerned about right now. Once you progress through the phases of your post op, you caloric intake will slightly increase. But ALWAYS ALWAYS focus on getting your protein and water first.
  11. With each day, week that passes it does get easier and you learn to accommodate your new pouch. Cooking for one is hard. Do you have friends that you can swap recipes / food with? I had a friend where she'd cook and share and vice versa. It makes things a little easier. I also use to get paid to cook for people I work with. I'd buy the food and cook / prep so they didn't have to... literally no left overs....

I can tell you that I started online dated when I moved to NC (about 16 years ago) I stopped 3 years ago when I met my BF. In that time between ... to say things have changed is an understatement. I'm happy I'm not there now.
  13. Daily once a day multi vitamins (200% dv), Calcium chewable, Magnesium, calcium and potassium pill, and biotin
  14. I found with the protein waters I can only tolerate them if they are ice cold. Otherwise it feels like a brick going down. But of the brands Protein20 is definitely a winner. Sam's club had them the cheapest with 3 flavors...but I don't like the coconut (reminds me of banana boat sun tan lotion [emoji14]) If you can buy them individually, try and test to find what works for you.
  15. I'm eating 2-3 oz per serving. And cals are up to 100 per serving. You need to get your proteins in
  16. Sorry, notifications aren't coming through the mobile app... glad you found some.
  17. Me too. And I noticed I can't add attachments via the app anymore My notifications were horrible at best, but at least I got notified when someone replied, now nothing, but I do get notified via app for "likes" haha
  18. It requires a conscious effort for you to drink your fluids. Staying hydrated will not happen on it's own. There are bariatric apps that can remind you to drink water, water drinking apps to remind you. The effort comes from you, if you do not have a medical reason for not getting your fluids, then you need to make a conscious one
  19. Is that ALL you are eating per day? I have 4 - 6 small meals per day to meet my protein needs and cals fall around 600-700
  20. You should be eating at least 60g of protein a day. As you're a week behind me... working towards 90g (at least that's what my surgical team suggested)
  21. Just my thoughts as someone who has used a food tracking app for years... I have been successful at weightloss until the last 3 years... I am most successful when I consistently log my meals. It wasn't until I stopped logging, or keeping accountability of my intake did the weight creep back (Add other medical issues and here we are today). When I allowed myself to get "slack" I found it hard to get back on track even though I thought my portions were OK. I think I can say for me personally, keeping myself accountable will be a lifelong chore. But I also look at as, if i have 5 minutes for social media, I have 5 minutes for logging. I don't log my exercise to allow me to keep ahead of myself with daily kcal goals. I work with some "healthy" women, they don't always log their food, but rather their exercise. I think long term, much like our trial and errors here, we have to find what works best for ourselves. I also know long term, I'll never be able to eat carbs like I once used to. The effects from carbs and gluten are horrid to my body and that's one habit I know I don't want to relive.
  22. As someone who has worked for the airlines: Don't ask a flight attendant for directions to a connecting gate...they will refer you to a cust service agent at the gate or help desk. Your connecting boarding pass will have gate information, just check with a CS agent or monitors for updated gate information. Don't ask for "medical" assistance in the airport, it could cause concern and could have someone contact a medical desk to ask for your medical clearance. Use the meet and assist at the initial point of contact as someone who just needs help connecting, unless on the return you do need a wheelchair, then ask for transport help in connecting flights.
  23. Can you share what your daily meals look like, are you drinking enough water? Water does curb your appetite. I had my surgery on 8/20, the days I struggle or slack with my water, I find I'm more hungry.
  24. Can you elaborate, struggling how? How much are you currently consuming? I had surgery on 8/20 and I keep a 20oz cup with me for my 30 min drive to work. I save to drink to/from work. I keep a 20oz cup at work which I fill twice and drink within 8 hrs. This does not include my decaf coffee or teas. I also drink another 20-40 oz after work at home
  25. I would first ask your medical team if there is something you can take to help relieve some anxiety prior to flying. I'm a huge fan of "rescue pearls" - they work great as an all natural stress reliever. How long are you staying in Mexico before flying home? I don't think it's necessary to pay extra for Business of First class, if anything pay extra for a confirmed extra leg room seat (pending the airline). It took me a solid two weeks to not get motion sick in the car (even driving myself) after surgery, I don't know about the 2.5 hour drive... what is the cost of parking at both locations, and gas? Depending on the airline, most seat back pockets have their own inflight magazine and will give you maps for your connecting flights. Don't be afraid to ask someone where to go, you can also request a "Meet and Assist" to have someone transport / escort you from one gate to another. As for packing, pending the length of your stay, I would be inclined to pack the bare minimum. the first week after surgery I lived in baggy PJ boxers and a loose top. I did not want anything touching my belly for two weeks. I returned to work after 1 week and wore loose skirts and tops to keep the "touching" off my body.
