Such a great thread! I kissed my DH a while ago and told him I would marry him again. We've been married 6.5 yrs and my heart still pitter patters when he calls and comes home from work. We only dated 2 mos b4 we got engaged and married within 9 mos of our first date. We were both 32 and could look past the little stuff. This is the first marriage for both of us. I knew my husband was the one for me b/c of the way he made me feel.....special. My heart ached for him when he wasn't with me. I ached to talk to him when he was out of town. He is my best friend. He is the air I breath. Like Wheestin, we are so much alike when it comes to beliefs & values & such. However, we are as different as day & night on other things like food and T.V. I talk about everything.....he is like a clam....you have to pry things out of him sometimes. I always dreamed of finding someone like my dad. Even my family agrees that my husband has a lot of the qualities of my dad. I was lucky. NO, I was blessed. We have 2 beautiful children, want more, and are more in love today than ever before. The Lord does say the "Two shall become one" and I know we will know each other in heaven when our time on earth is done. BTW, we also finish each other sentences like you Doty. We did that from the beginning. A good sign that it is "True Love". Also, I don't expect him to change for me. I always tell him if he does something that hurts my feelings. I am an open book. Then it's up to him if he wants to continue to do the things that hurt me and vice versa. We've worked on that since day one and it's a great way to approach life if you ask me.

Hip Hip Hooray for Tyler!! :clap2: What a BIG boy!! Tell him another little boy you know from LBT, Danny, has just learned to poopy too and we're so proud!! I think it was Victoriana that suggested the toothpaste and I can't say thank you enough....that made the difference for us. Danny was on the potty today and my other son wanted to get the toothpaste in the other bathroom. I told him that we didn't need that anymore....it was cute. Big brother trying to help. :huggie: FunnyDuddies ~ Sorry to hear about your troubles. Such an awful thing for a mother to go through. Maybe you could make him wait a few minutes in his poopy pants b4 changing so he knows when it gets cold, it's not comfortable. I really don't know what to tell you on that one. While I was away this evening attending a support group, Danny fell asleep on the floor and woke up screaming. Daddy said he pooped in his pants while sleeping. Glad I wasn't home. I hate poop!! Took the cat to the vet and she pooped coming and going. I will be glad when the potty training is completely over!!

Doty ~ God bless your little heart!! I have only been married 6.5 yrs and can't imagine your grief. There was a reason for your feelings tonight. I think you may have more on your mind than you think and your husband is still there for you & wanted to let you know. :biggrin1: I know you've expressed a love for the Lord and I hope you will see your DH again some day. That is a bit sad about your doc. I wonder if they doc really made that decision or a nurse? Perhaps you should consider a new doc if the relationship is not good. That is the LAST thing you need to worry about if you have a medical need. Thank God for the pharmacist!! Your heart is in TN I can tell. Pray about it and see what happens. It's O.K. to hide, just don't stay there. You know you always have us here at LBT. I love reading what you have to say b/c it's like a box of chocolates.....you never know what your going to get. Doty ~ That's what I like about you....you call a spade a spade and not afraid to speak your mind. Don't always agree, but one thing is for sure.....we would both fight to the end for Smoke!! tacwoman ~ You are too funny.....your SIL married my man, huh?! I guess that means I need to get in line. My DH knows my secret fantasy. :rolleyes Personally, I would like to see more of the "old school" (as DW puts it) kind of racing. Let them bang and grind and then let the fists fly at the end. Like I said b4, I totally disagree with the fine Gordon got b/c I think every driver should get cool down time. That's what used to get Tony in trouble and a lot of press instigated it. It does create some excitement and gives people something to talk about. Oh well, can't wait till Sunday. What ever happened to the "How bad have you got it" commercials? I miss those. :cry Hey missy4gordon ~ My mom has one of those life size cardboard cutout things of Gordon. She would sleep with it if my dad would let her....no kidding. He stays in the pantry. :guess One time I put a pink ribbon around his neck and let my brother take the heat. Another time I put a Stewart Parking Only in her garage....she threw it away and I never told her it was me. :heh: We like to tease and joke in our family so we're always doing something to each other. Don't be afraid to chime in and tell us what you think. :biggrin1: I understand where your coming from.

My mom, Gordon's biggest fan, told me that he had a cleft lip and needed surgery when he was younger. I think this has something to do with the way he talks. I think that's why he also wore a mustache for many years. Ward Burton....boy, do I miss him. Does anyone remember when he threw something at Jr, I think it was Jr, and said he was going to get his shot gun and just shoot him? I still laugh about that to this day. I loved him. Also, my parents and most of my extended family are from WV. No, we're not inbreeders. :heh: My mom hates it when I say that. :biggrin1:

Missy ~ I am sorry if I'm one that offended you. I actually started this thread for NASCAR fans and not Stewart fans. That would be too boring. I am in love with Stewart a.k.a. Smoke (comes from his early days in racing....it was his nickname). I guess I feel free to say anything, within reason of course, on this site b/c I am very limited what I can say to my family. You see, my mom is the BIGGEST Gordon fan and I don't DARE say anything about her man. She can say anything about Smoke, but I'm not allowed to express myself about Gordon. It's been shoved down my throat since day one (I even think DW does this a bit) and it leaves a bad taste. Gordon is a good guy and I'm glad he is going to start showing his real self. My mom didn't believe he cussed!! Stewart & Gordon have both been punks in their early years like Kyle Bush. I have to giggle when I hear Stewart say the younger ones need to show respect. I agree 100%, but that sort of thing is learned the hard way in most cases with a talented driver with an attitude.....hense the nickname "shrub". Tony has been called a crybaby by my family as well, but I don't care. Here's the run down in our family: Mom = Gordon, Dad = Jarrett, Brother = Jimmie Johnson, Brother = Stewart, Brother = Anything Dodge, & DH = Stewart (like he has a choice) :heh: . Chime in your true feelings and I will try not to be so hard on Gordon. I do see your point b/c there are a lot of Stwart fans here, which I was pleasantly surprised. Again, I am sorry if I made you feel unwelcome. I think we should hear from all sides b/c one thing we all have in common is that we're NASCAR FANS....the best fans in the world. We are a big family regardless of your driver.

Personally, I never considered WLS until I discovered the lapband. The biggest reason for me was the complications brought on by having the bypass and knowing the band is reversible. I have 2 small children and this is what is best for me. I don't know of anyone that has had the bypass and converted to the band, but I do know of people with the band converting to the bypass for whatever reason.....something to consider. Keep in mind that statistics are just numbers. You can't say that you will only lose 50% of your needed weight. You may lose more or you may lose less than that....each case is different. This I know to be true.....more people have died from the bypass surgery or complications than the lapband.....a huge factor in my personal decision. Another issue for my was praying. I have no idea of your religious beliefs, but for me personally, this was a tremendous help in guiding my decision. Now I have no doubts. :biggrin1: Oh...thought of something else....the bypass surgery makes food decisions for you IMO. The lapband requires more of an effort to make good food choices. I do wish you the very best in making the right decision. Look at the BIG picture and do what is best for you personally, not what someone else has done. :gluck:

I am so excited for Tony and love the fencing climbing (they could have shown it live)!! I was so nervous that I actually got hives, just a few, during the race. :nervous I was tense b/c every time Tony has led the most laps, something has happened to keep him from winning....not this time!! And how about that Jr? :clap2: If he hadn't been banged up, he may have taken the win. I can't believe he had such a tremendous comeback....great job on his part and his crew. I think his spotter was sleeping a couple of times. :notagree I'm thankful the Hendrick camp didn't win....that "shrub" and Johnson is getting old. That's all you see in the news and papers it seems like....maybe it's just me. Except for last week with the Gordon incident. DW was quick to call it "old school". We know he would die b4 he would say that on behalf of Tony. Oh well, it is what it is. Karen ~ We'll be looking for yellow on Sunday. This has to be quick b/c we're getting a storm, but my son pooped in the potty on his own tonight!!! :clap2: I was on the phone and he walked in the bathroom and called me in to see his poopy. Tomorrow we are going to buy some fishy. He saws he wants one that talks like Nemo. :biggrin1: We had a huge battle the night b4 last and he sat on the pot for an hour and only pooped a little. I showed him a tube of toothpaste & I really think that made a difference. A great BIG hug & Thank You to each of you for posting. We are on the way!! YEAH!! THANKS AGAIN!!!

Wished I could offer help, but I'm a preband SAHM (stay at home mom). I am also telling anyone interested about getting the band. I've gotten a little grief from it (mostly my mother). That's O.K. though....I'm doing what is right for me. Perhaps you could tell them the there is not enough time to go over all the details and offer them a website like LBT, ObesityHelp.com, or Inamed.com. ~Good luck to you~ :biggrin1:

I'm sorry to hear about the Barrett's. :cry I'm so glad you shared this info so we can be on the lookout for similar symptoms and stay on top of things (even though I'm preband). It sounds like you have a very restrictive diet ahead of you. How bizarre that our local newspaper had an article about this on Thurs?! They said that they are seeing more cases of Barrett's and don't know why. They also explained that when we have reflux, new cells form to take the place of the old ones killed by the acid. The new cells are more prone to cancer and it doesn't mean you will actually get it....thank goodness!! Try your best to do what the doc says.....you are WORTH it!! Get the cravings out of the way, then take the straight & narrow. You'll be glad you did. I can understand where your coming from to a certain point b/c if someone tells me not to do something, I tend to want to do it. It's my nature and another reason why the band is for me.....I can't do without certain things. Hang in there kiddo!!

I am preband and have taken Motrin a lot for aches & pains caused by being overweight and lack of sleep. I now take Ambien for sleep which has helped my aching body tremendously. I would take 3-4 Motrin at a time 3 or 4 times a day before Ambien. Now I can go days without Motrin and try to take Tylenol if I do need something. Question = Do you think I've already damaged my stomach with Mortin? Should I have some sort of test done b4 surgery? I had a lot of heartburn during both pregnancies which was to be expected. I now have occasional heartburn....3- 4 times a month. Thanks in advance!!

I am preband and have attended 2 of 3 required support group sessions. The first one was open to questions then went from there and the second had a chiropractor do a presentation. I am very "PRO" chiropractor, but I didn't think this was beneficial to a newbie. Based on my experiences, I would look up topics here and see what brought on some good discussions. I have learned more here than I could ever learn at a monthly support group.

Congratulations!! Your post is very encouraging even though I know everyone is different. People do have a distorted view of this surgery thinking of years ago. :eek: SUPER DUPER job on the 10 lbs and keep us posted!! :eek:

Thanks ladies!! We had an interesting morning. I painted the nails of all three of my guys which includes my husband. :heh: He had to work this AM, so he woke me up asking for the nail polish remover b/c he said my son painted his nails. I didn't tell him at the time that I was the guilty party. I called him at work and confessed. He didn't even see his toes were red too! He was a good sport. My little ones woke me up saying they had blood on their fingers. They are so precious!!! I also told them about the belly button thief, they checked and then my oldest said, "Mom were you having a dream?" The boys kind of paid me back by sneaking the paint out of the cabinet....they had a good time at the kitchen table. Thank you for sharing this and be sure to say THANKS to him!! It was a well deserved award. We have a family history of military service and I understand the stress when a loved one is in harms way. So glad to hear he is now safe at home to stay....I'm sure there were tears of joy when the family heard the good news. Again, let him know we're thankful for what he has done for this great country!!

Druggie slush? Fix me one please. I also take Effexor (I do take the XR though) and I have heard from some here at LBT say they still take the Effexor, some say they can break up the capsule based in info from the drug maker and still others say their surgeon switched them to something else. I have heard my surgeon prefers Lexapro and I have not been able to have this conversation with him. I think you should also consult your surgeon on this after getting feedback here. Make a list of questions for him/her based on advice given here. Good luck!!

I'm with you Morsaille.....what is the big deal about poop? Why is it so much easier to train them to pee and not poop in the potty? Tomorrow I'm going to buy some toothpaste and try the look and see how the poop comes out approach. :nervous

chocolate ~ Definitely a MUST have for me, especially during my cycle. I can get by with 1-2 hersey kisses....really....I've done it before. :confused: After talking with the dietitian though, I am going to try the Viactiv and see if that works for me after I get the band. coffee ~ I also need at least ONE cup a day to get me going

Thank you ALL!! I have been made to feel like a terrible mother b/c my 3.5 yr old is not potty trained. My mother trained my first one when he was 3 yrs (now 5 yrs) while we were in the process of moving to another state. I offered to send him to Granny Bootcamp and she's not interested in training another one. :phanvan He will pee in the potty, but forget it when it comes to poopy. We tried for an hour last week to get him to poop and he sat on the pot part of the time and the rest of the time he ran around naked holding his butt yelling, "I'm going to poopy, I need a pullup!" I had no idea he was actually THAT stubborn....get's it from his dad. :confused: My oldest has done just about everything in his power to encourage his little brother. He was successful in teaching him to pee standing up instead of backwards on the toilet. :clap2: We have tried candy, stickers, McDonalds, fancy underwear, you name it. We even bought a fish tank and offered to buy fish if he would poop in the potty. So far, nothing. :tired One of my concerns is that he has gone 2 days without pooping when I've made him go without pullups. I finally gave in on the 3rd day let him poop in the pullup. I've heard they can backup and it can cause a big problem. Please give me your thoughts and experiences on this. :help: Did I do a bad thing by giving in? How do you handle a situation like this? I had a few quick moments last night to read LBT and took the advice of Jachut of NO pullups....at least during the day. I had to hide them in order to convince him he had to wear underwear. My parents were visiting from OH and my oldest got go outside with Papaw to play. I put his clothes, along with his underwear, on the sofa and told him when he got dressed he could go outside too. Well, he stayed inside for an HOUR!! Can you believe that? He finally gave in, but I can't believe he waited that long. He wanted his pullup. He went all day without an accident, but once again, he did not poop today. He's just holding it in. Please give me some options. :help: I don't want to resort to punishment but need alternatives b/c he fully understands and it's time. :faint:
