prayer requests for LBT'ers
Hi Julie ~ I have prayed for you to have peace and feel the presence of God. He is with us always. In addition, your never alone b/c you have us here at LBT. We've been there, done that, and will be checking in on you wondering how your doing.....along with those that are preband. :biggrin1: Looking back, I still would have done this alone or not. Not once was I scared b/c I turned it over to God. He will bring you peace. Bless your heart.....you will be fine!!

Hubby Doesn't want Wife to work
Christina ~ I think you should look at this guy in a different light to see if your compatible on a deeper level. How do you feel about yourself when your with him? Do you feel like a better person after spending time with him? Can you REALLY see yourself loving him unconditionally? What if he was injured and couldn't work the rest of his life? Do you both share the kind of love it takes to be the caretaker for each other if something horrible were to happen? Do you share views on religion, politics, & raising children? Just make sure you don't have to change your authentic self for any man. Be true to yourself. Don't get married just for the sake of wanting children now and thinking you can't have them later. I'm 39 and have 2 children, but plan to have more....the Lord willing....after we wait out the new band placment.....1.5 - 2 yrs. There are many women that have babies later in life. My SIL, 42, just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. We are so thrilled to have baby Mason. The clock does tick when your older, no one can deny that. Be true to yourself and I would suggest a prayer. God's timing is always perfect.

May 2006 Band Crew ~ June Chat
Sorry guys if the link wasn't working from the original thread....not sure what happened. :phanvan Diane ~ Still praying for you and I do hope your pain is getting better. Are you getting enough rest or are you still taking care of everyone else? Put yourself first right now so you can heal and cook your little buns off!! Mandy ~ I came home from the hospital on full liquids. You still need to follow your docs instructions though. IMO shakes are fine for breakfast and the most important thing is to be sure to get all your Protein. I was drinking a shake on my way to church this AM....didn't have time to sit and eat. I will probably be like that most Sundays. Sister ~ It could be gas moving around. I had shoulder pain last week just about every time I ate. I told the surgeon and they wanted me to contact them if it didn't go away by Fri. So far so good. It's only a phone call.....I would recommend giving them a ring.

What brand of vitamins do you use?
Mine says the same thing and the serving size is only 1/2 tablet for children 2-3 yrs. Hmmm.....very interesting discovery. They gave me 2 or 3 different papers saying take 2 of them so perhaps it has something to do with weight? Next time I speak to them, I will ask the reason for 2. So many on here take 2 as well. :girl_hug: Now I'm curious.

What brand of vitamins do you use?
My surgeon told me to take 2 of the Flinstones a day, so I take the same amount as you.

May 2006 Band Crew
I spoke to seminole and we agreed to go ahead and start a new thread for our group for the month of June. Here's the link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=233493#post233493. I will see about making our new thread a sticky to make it easier to find. We will do this every month after as long as we have participation. It is a great place to follow each other and continue to share in our journeys. I hope you all come and join us. This thread will probably be locked to prevent any confusion. I would like to personally give a special thanks to SEMINOLE for starting this entire process for us!! We love you for it!! :clap2:

May 2006 Band Crew
I am plum worn out!! I just got back from Wal-Mart Supercenter and I thought I was up for it, but I feel whipped.:whip: I took my 5 yr old and he drove the cart and helped me tremendously....it was so cute seeing those little feet scurry to pick something off the shelf for mommy. :biggrin1: I had to go from one end to the other b/c we needed stuff on both ends of the store. Needless to say, I took some pain meds b/c my port site was burning & hurting. Is it just me? It's been a week and I felt great today. I guess I don't have as much strength as I thought. How did everyone else do on their first outing? :girl_hug:

Poison Ivy/Oak...home remedies?
Sorry to say I can't offer anything here b/c I've never been in this situation. I do however, hope your mom gets some relief. I bet she's miserable. Good luck!!

Did anyone miss a couple of periods?
Hey Karen ~ If your pregnant, can I have your Daytona tickets? :heh: Sorry, just couldn't resist. Now for the sensitive side....I do hope your not pregnant since they want you to wait 1-2 yrs. Make a call to your doc b/c you may need something to help balance your hormones.

Pics-Mini_me...-15.5lbs
Oh my....definitely a huge difference with 15 lbs!!! :girl_hug: You are the incredible shrinking woman!!! Makes me wished I would show 15 lbs like that, but I don't. I'll take it though when the day comes. Thanks for sharing this b/c it's good inspiration to get out and walk on such a beautiful day.

Who Did You Tell?
I just told everyone and will continue to do so if the interest is there. I enjoy people and love to talk. I'm not really a bashful fat person to begin with....maybe that's part of my denial. :girl_hug: My DH is very reserved and I'm an open person so we balance each other out.

caffeine?
Caffeine can make some people hungry. It also dehydrates you. I can't remember the "exact" formula for replacing Water, but it's something like for every cup of caffeine you have you need 2 or 3 cups of water to replace it. Water plays such a critical part of our success. A few short months ago I was having 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Right before surgery I was down to 1/2 cup a day. Now I have none. I'm hoping I don't crave it later. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, if ever.

May 2006 Band Crew
I'm thinking we should start a new May Band Crew ~ June Talk thread. What do you guys think? We could have the mods close this one so new people would know to come to the most recent month if they were banded in May. We definitely need to keep this going regardless. You all are my band buddies. :biggrin1: I used my Magic Bullet last night for my bean soup and it was awesome!! It came out creamy like peanut butter....I almost reached for the bread. Not really. :heh: If any of you still in the early stages want soups like the bean, potato, chili, this is a great way to have them. Turn them to mush and they taste delish!!! :hungry:

Did God make you rich?
I raise my mug to toast to this....:girl_hug:

Did God make you rich?
Funny you should say that b/c DeLarla says the same thing....3 Loaves.

regrets
I have no regrets and so happy to have my band....I am only 7 days banded though. I agree with others, I do not think the band is appropriate for everyone. It's important to do a lot of research on ALL your options and fully understand what your getting into. I would not have 1/2 the knowledge of the band without LBT. I am so crazy happy about this that when they took me to my room after surgery, I told my DH that even though I was in some pain, I was so happy at that moment in time. If it wasn't for the pain, I may have done a happy dance in my bed.

Finally
Congratulations!!! :clap2: I know you are so excited...this time will pass so quickly now. You will be on the other side before you know it.

Where did I go? Who am I now?

Did God make you rich?
That's b/c it's not in there. This is not scripture. It kind of reminds me of what Kare said earlier.... Just some more sharing....this is one of my favorite verses I lean on a lot: Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I do have to say there have been times when we wrote a check to the church knowing it would be a struggle for the week. There has NEVER been a time in which we have not had what we needed. He never fails!!

I'm a little freaked
Glad to hear it's not more than ringworm. Take care & let us know how the puppy fairs from all of this. We love pics of puppies. Post one here when you get a chance. Also, what's it's name? Donna ~ I will pay you next time I see you. :heh:

What brand of vitamins do you use?
I use the Flinstones and the Viactiv Calcium. Here's a thread from a short time ago with some good info on the subject: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17627&highlight=vitamins Tricia pointed out to me that the Viactiv Multi-Vitamin does not contain iron. I contacted the company and they are considering a new formula. We'll see what happens. I will probably buy the Centrum as I've heard many say on LBT they are better tasting than the Flinstones. I share my Flinstones with my boys, so we will probably go through them in no time.
