I had to do it, i really thought they was going to make me drink a lot. But literally they had two cups on the table not a lot in either. I think i took 4 sips in total only because of the extra small sips I was taking lol. It was all of 5 minutes. Not bad at all

I'm getting more nervous as I near the end of the preop requirements. I'm done with everything my insurance requires to get a surgery date. I have my final consultation appointment on October 1st. I'll get a surgery date after that. My nerves are getting to me as this becomes "real."

    Hello all!
I have been lurking on these forums for a while. I just got the approval call for my vsg surgery today!! I have the surgery on 9/17!! I'm so excited!
I have a question though. Would yall mind sharing what brand Vitamins you buy? Where from? I have the Patches for the first 30 days but am not planning on using them any longer than that.
    Thanks in advance!
I'm excited to join yall on the losers bench

I'm sorry if this is jumbled, but I am really out of it right now.

On Sunday 2/8 at about noon, I had some slight vaginal bleeding and called my doctor. He had me go to the hospital to get checked. I was having a small amount of cramping, but nothing unusual. When I was checked, they found that I was 4 cm dilated and the bag of waters was bulging out of my cervix. I was put head down in the bed for the rest of the day, but at about 8 am on Monday morning, my Water broke. I was monitored throughout the day for infection and my temp was creeping up and up. Late afternoon, my temp was 100.4 and it was determined that I had an infection and must deliver. Being only 20 weeks, we knew the baby couldn't make it.

Pitocin was started in the evening and I labored through the night. Sydney Alexis was born at 4:30 am on February 10 and even though she was only 20w4d gestation, she lived for two hours and then passed away in my arms. She was perfect in every way and looked just like her older brother.

Please say a prayer for us. I am hurting so badly, I don't know how I can make it through this time. I am still in the hospital, probably until tomorrow and will spend as much time with the baby as I can.

TIA for any thoughts and prayers as we can use all we can get right now.

    Auroragirl4489 reacted to bandster_1007 in i miscarried.....need advise
i am approximately 2.5 months pregnant, but my embryo died at 6 weeks. we found out yesterday via an vaginal ultrasound that the embryo does not have a heartbeat. i find out thursday if my blood work confirms it. (my hcg levels have to be going down).
i'm devastated. i never knew it would be this hard, but now i have another decision to make. my doctor wants me to decide if i want a d & c or if i want to wait for it to pass. i don't know if i can walk around every day waiting for it to happen. it's hard enough now because i know it is still in there. it's already been several weeks and no sign of miscarriage.

I haven’t told anyone but being overweight has prevented me from planning a wedding or having children. Now that I’ve had the surgery once i get to my goal weight I want to do both of those things! I also want to go on outdoor adventures and not worry about being out of breath or being in pain

Still in hospital. Leak test scheduled for the AM. Gas pain and pressure is no joke! The feeling of needing to burp but not being able
To is annoying. Have walked some and peed some. More details re: intake and actual day of to come. Thanks everyone for your support! I’ll post every retrying on this thread for myself and others. Nothing has been a major surprise thus far due to the generosity of those willing to share on these forums. Dry lips, dry mouth, swollen throat. It’s all real but easier to handle bc I’ve been informed by y’all!

I am so glad I found this forum and took people’s advice. I was scared, anxious, sad, confused before and after surgery but I already knew I was going to feel that way. Lol 😂

    Best advice...
1)stay on top of pain med routines. DO NOT WAIT!!!
    2) I made sure to ask for anti nausea meds prior to surgery and after. Has saved my life!!!
    3) walking is going to alleviate all the built up gas...so get that ass up and walk lol 😂
4)forcing myself to stay on schedule with hydration. Whether it’s Water, popsicle, juice, Protein water, Soup. Honestly, it has helped me a whole lot.
    5) my support system. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster but having family and friends that are supportive has really helped. Forget about the judge mental ones. Leave them out of this!

Just wanted to say thank you to all the people that have shared their stories and reached out to me. I am so grateful that this forum exist. It has really given me a place to feel safe!

Definitely agree! I didn’t use anything in my bag except my tooth brush, my face wash and my chapstick because i didn’t like the lip balm the hospital provides. My phone may have went in the charger but i was not thinking about that phone 😂. Congratulations on your surgery welcome

There are quite a few posts about just this! So many people bring way too much. It's not a vacation LOL.
    Lipbalm
    Dry mouth spray
Phone w/ charger and extra long cord
    Sweat pants
    Slippers
    Extra pillow.

    That's all I used.

I agree with this! Definitely make sure there's a pillow in the car for the ride home though so you can hold it against yourself when going over bumps or anything.

So my surgery was on the 4th and the night before surgery I had written an entire length of paper worth of things to bring with me. Guess how many of those things I actually used?? THREE. My chapstick, sweater, and phone charger. I didn’t even get to brush my teeth (yes I know, gross) because I was either asleep, or walking and then when I was done walking I was right back to sleep. I had a book with me and a couple times I started reading and the words started to blurr together. Before I knew it I was waking up to people coming in to check my vitals.
Needless to say, don’t pack so much stuff to take with you. All it did was make more things for my husband to take to the car 😂😂. There may be a few people that will get bored and not sleep as much but even if you are those type of people I suggest you do sleep. I hear it helps with the healing process. Best of luck to all of you who are still waiting to have surgery!

I was called out of town a week or so into purèe phase. I just began eating real food. I selected lean meats or Soups when I couldn’t have shakes or Protein Bars. I chewed everything to purèe before swallowing and took the tiniest bites. Did not have a single problem with anything. I tried scrambled eggs at home (nothing in them) first...winner! It was a breeze!

@Separ1418 - I did something similar in my 2 week pre-op phase and when I had my surgery, my doctor was still thrilled with my liver shrinking diet. Try not to do it again and remember, this is the road to a healthier you!
