Weight Gain
Hello again. Thank you for your support and suggestions. YES in the morning my restriction is suuuuuuuuuper tight. I also think the shift work plays a very key part in my journey, since at times I'm not able to eat when or what I have scheduled to eat. I'm going to try your suggestions and see. This week has been a good week as far as my protein intake. I love the nectar drinks and with it being hot I tend to not want to eat just drink soooo protein shakes and protein infused water was great for me.

Weight Gain
:scared2:Losing the battle but still fighting in the war..... I have gained almost all of my weight back. I'm so discouraged and feeling soo depressed I have gone thru so many emotional and health problems in the last 2 yrs so I know that has something to do with it but.. doesn't change the facts. I have a hiatal hernia and was treated for hpylori in the last yr, I have problems eating and digesting healthy foods(meats, eggs some veggies).I can hardly drink hot tea or coffee in the morning so by 1pm I'm starving and over eat whatever is there(work) I actually have a problem eating until around 9:30pm which isn't good because it's too close to bedtime unless I'm on 11-7 shift((yes I work rotating shift work). Wondering if this could also be because of the hernia not the band.Has anyone else had these problems since banding? So fellow banders I can use some encouragement and help. I have an appoint to see Dr. Abkin on 8/5/10 so hopefully he will help me to get back on track. I would really like to find a friend here in South Jersey who could become my mentor so to speak any volunteers? Thanks for reading my post, any idea will be appreciated.:smile2:

Dr. Yves Manigat - Dr. Manigat
I was banded in North Jersey by another doctor but can no longer travel to north jersey,so I needed a doctor here in south jersey.I went to Dr. Yves Manigat as a new patient, referred by a lapband member. I have to say he is an excellent doctor, who makes you feel comfortable. He had no problem taking me on as a patient, even though I was banded elsewhere. he has a lot of patients so be prepared to wait.As soon as my other medical problems are clear I plan to go back to him and get back on track.

Wondering and Scared
Hello fellow bandstandsters. I need the support of some good friends right about now. I recently went to a new dr to get a check up/ fill here in South Jersey because I was gaining weight yet vomiting when I tried to eat so I thought my band had slipped or something( btw he's a excellent dr)He scheduled me to get a floroscope before he would give me a fill since I was a new patient.Well while looking at x-ray he saw a shadow near my esphogus.,so he sent me to a specialist who did a biopsy etc.Thank God it wasn't cancerous, but I do have a hiaterial hernia as well a bacteria in my stomach. So far I'm on nexum until the specialist gets back from vacation.Sooo just wondering has anyone else had this problem and what the outcome was. I was also told my band might have to be removed:scared2:"nooooo" I also realize that eveyone is different, but I really need encouragement that everything will be alright........

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in desperate need of a mentor/buddy.I was so ashamed at my failure, that I stayed away from the group.I have gained back several pounds and now very depressed.I live in South Jersey so I'm not able to attend the support group in North Jersey. So if anyone is willing to help me stop making excuses and find my way back to a true lapband land I would appreciate it.

Reflux Poll
Before I got banded I had reflux problems, seems like anything I ate or drank caused me problems even with prescription meds.I have been banded over a year and :-D no more reflux I have even been taken off of the meds. The only times I have a problem is if I eat too fast or something that is not band friendly. So I am thankful and blessed to have the band.

Easy Way OUT??
:eek:Wow! That had to hurt your cousin's feelings. it kinda ticks me off that as a parent she didn't support her daughter. But on the other hand maybe she as a parent is just scared for her daughter and needs to learn more about the band, so she will understand it's not a quick fix and speaking for myself it's definitely not a "QUICK Fix or Easy way out" Tell your cousin to hang in there and do what she knows will make her live a healthier life.

Funny things happen when you start to age.
Wow! Thanks for sharing people here I thought I was the only woman thinking and feeling like dang I'm losing weight(slow loser) but sheesh things are hanging lower(wink) lines are appearing out of nowhere and last but not least my thighs are making jello seem firm. When I was heavier my thighs were larrrrrrrrrrrge but firm or so it seemed compared to now.But like an earlier posted stated consider the alternatives. So all in all we are blessed to be here posting and getting healthy.

Pizza and Pancakes
I tried pancakes(well actually a piece of my grandsons) and just one forkful made me gag and feel realllllllllllly uncomfortable,as for pizza well I can eat the topping of a small slice okay and maybe 1-2 bites of the really thin crust. Regular pizza crust was a no no .So for me it's not worth the pain or discomfort.

Slow Loser Over Here
I would like to join this group as well. I'm losing just not as fast as I had hoped, but a pound loss is better than a pound gained . I was banded March 06 and I've lost 50lbs as of Jan 08 sooooooo I'm keeping the faith that I will eventually meet my goal ..........

Who had Dr Abkin?
I had Dr.Abkin do my surgery March 06, and Dr Bertha to do my fills. I think they are both great doctors and have a great office staff. I find them both to be very honest with giving you answers to your questions, and both are willing to work with you to reach your goals lol you just have to be honest with them and yourself if you aren't doing what they tell you.
