Briswife15 got a reaction from Goldn02Grl in I’ve been drinking while eating :(
No, you're probably fine. But ask yourself WHY you chose to drink directly after eating...it can flush the food out of your pouch causing you to be able to eat more. It's really only an issue once you're on more solid food. I seriously doubt you did any damage, or stretched your pouch. But you should get in the habit of setting a timer on your phone and waiting 1/2 hour minimum to drink after eating.

You and I have almost identical stats. I'm 5'3" and weighed 239 on surgery day. I, too, hurt all over. Couldn't walk without pain, and sweating. Knees hurt all the time, etc. It does get much better, and quickly!! I now weigh 172 at 4.5 months post op, and I feel awesome! I have no pain, and this summer heat doesn't bother me. I can go up and down a flight of stairs with no pain. Have faith, soon you will be feeling much better. You hot this. Hang in there

My surgeon suggests no crunchy, crispy, cakey, carby things! As for never- sugar, carbonated beverages. Restrict rice, potatoes, bread.< br>

My surgeon gave me a 2 page list of recommended Protein shakes/powders. I mix mine with almond milk NOT Water, which I think tastes gross. I use Unjury, and Syntrax Nectar. The second one I get on Amazon. Unjury I buy directly from the company.

Something caught my eye about your post...you have GERD, and there is a real possibility that the sleve surgery would make your GERD a lot worse. Do some looking around on this forum and you will find those having sleeve to RNY revision due to severe GERD. So, based on how little you have to lose, and your preexisting condition, My opinion is that you shouldn't have the sleeve surgery. Keep trying through diet modification and exercise. Good luck to you!

I had reflux prior to my bypass, and my surgeon wouldn't do the sleeve on me because of it. I'm a little surprised that your doctors would recommend the sleeve! Why do they think it is "better"? Both surgeries are good, just different, and sometimes people just aren't good candidates for one or the other. Maybe check out a different surgeon???

Ah! I thought you were Post-op! Yes, the pre-op diet was really tough! I wasn't totally on liquids though. I had a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch, then something like steamed broccoli and chicken for dinner.

Did the Powerade have sugar? What happened at Target sounds awful! I'm sorry. [emoji31] It does get better once you can eat yogurt and things of that thickness. Try and distract yourself, I guess, and hang in there!

Me, too! It actually took me a week or longer to get back to day-of-surgery weight. Hang in there and try not to be discouraged.

Hi, there! When I'm measuring out things like cheese or deli turkey, I use a scale and weigh it. When measuring softer things like yogurt, ricotta, refried Beans, I use a measuring cup. Some folks use a measuring cup and put all their food in that so they're not going over a certain volume, like 1/2 cup or something. I'm sure other folks will chime in with some good advice!
