  1. Checking in! Lost 6.8lbs since the challenge started. I still need to do much better with fluid intake but I am improving. and I still need to get to exercising! The struggle is real!
  2. Hey there! Great Loss you are not far after me. I had my revision to bypass 9/10. Was all you weigh loss after surgery? Or was some of the 70lbs preop? If you don't mind me asking. I have lost 47 lbs but 15 was preop and 32lb has been post op.
  3. So are i know there are lots of different instructions out there but i see lots of people say 3 meals a day only, no grazing no snacks. Is that what most of you are doing. My surgery was 9/10 so i am cleared for everything, but i was told 4-6 small meals a day is what i should be doing. I don't have a nutritionist to follow up with. So i just wanted to see what most every else was doing at this point. Did you start off with 4-6 small meals and progress to the 3 meals as you can eat more? Or are some of you still doing the 4-6 small meals a day? Thanks for your help in advance!
  4. Check in! Monday weight in at 189.8 the morning! So down 4.2 since the challenge started. Yay me! Haven't got the routine of the intermittent fasting down yet. My worse time for eating is between 5-9 pm. And I haven't been exercising yet. I am working 7 days a week still, 10-14 hrs a day, so my time is limited and i am exhausted but i have to make myself work out even if it is 15 minutes on the treadmill. I am going to start this week!
  5. Thanks for the response and link. It was very helpful! I try not to compare myself to others but it is hard not to sometimes not too. I am happy with my progress so far. It just sometimes when you have a slow weight loss week you can't help but wonder, Is this it? Is this all I am going to be able to lose this time? But i am still early in the game. I am 10 week post op so I am going to be positive that there is more weight loss to come and stay on track with my plan.
  6. So when I decided to have a revision from sleeve to bypass, due to bad reflux and weight gain, my surgeon warned me that my weight loss results would be slower than if I had not had previous WLS. I defiantly felt like I lost more quickly with my initial surgery. I just wondered for those that are farther out from revision......... Did you reach your goal? How much of your excess weight did you lose 40% 50%, 60% or more of your estimated weight loss goal? Do you feel that your weight loss was slower than with your initial WLS? Did you weight loss slow dramatically after the first few month? How long did it take you to get to goal? I would love to hear any information or progress stories you revision veterans are willing to share. Thanks!
  7. REALLY SCALE???? 0.2 loss this week....uggg. Well, i guess i should be thankful, at least it is a loss and not a gain!
  8. Challenge Starting weight: 193.4 Current weight lost: 42.2 Losing or maintaining weight: Losing Fitness/exercise goal: 3 times a week - Hopefully more but I am working 10-14 hours days 7 days a week so I have to be realistic Total weight loss at the end of challenge: (Post January 1st 2019) 25lbs - I am going to aim high! Check in: Tell us how you are doing - (How is your diet and exercise plan going? Any struggles? Stress level? What have you overcome? Any strategies that have helped I am working a ton and need to exercise more, and I struggle to get my fluids in. I am going to start intermittent fasting to try to force fluids only in the mornings. I am stressing about making the most of my first 6 months (the golden window of weight loss)
  9. I am so impatient with my weight loss . I try not to be but when you are eating so little you expect it to just fall off. I have lost 42.2 total and 27.2 since surgery 9/10/18. I keep telling myself on average that is pretty good for 9 weeks post up. It's just to bad I can't lose it as easily as I can gain it...lol How is everyone else's weight loss since surgery?
  10. How are you doing the Intermittend fasting? I know there are a few different ways.
  11. Anyone have days that nothing you eat sits right? I am 9 weeks out and for the most part I do well with what I can eat. I can't do very dense meats, they just don't sit well, but soft chicken and ground beef, lunch meat etc are fine. However, every now and then, like 2 days ago, everything I tried to eat made me feel awful and came back up. Nothing would settle right except sugar free popsicles. So, after 3 attempt during the day to eat something that would not stay down, that's what I ate for dinner was popsicles. But yesterday I was fine and I ate no problem. Just weird this pouch of mine?
  12. Found a yummy recipe that i want to try i though i would share. You can make it very adaptable by switching up the ingredients for vegetarians, or your food tolerance or preferences. http://afterthesleeve.blogspot.com/2012/09/80-calorie-southwest-taquitos.html?m=1
  13. Finally made it to onederland! Just by the skin of my teeth at 199.8 but I'll take it..lol! First Goal achieved. 2 more goals to go and if I reach anything after that it will be a bonus.
  14. Me too i was concerned about dumping syndrome and rerouting my intestine. My worry was what if I decided to do this surgery and go from being a perfectly healthy person (other than being overweight) to choosing to have this surgery and what if i am sick all the time after? Then when i had the complications i beat myself up that i shouldn't have had the surgery and my fears had come true. I worried what if this is how it will always be, and i always feel terrible. and nauseous and weak and sick. But that stage passes and you improve and learn how to deal with your new stomach. It has been and continues to be an adjustment, and learning phase for me, but i feel like i am on the upswing now and that i made the right decision.
  15. Thank you! The scale finally started moving again after 2 weeks of nothing an i am down 3lbs. So just under 35lbs so far! I hope it keeps going..fingers crossed no more stalls.
  16. Hi! I had almost your same exact scenario. I had the sleeve 5 years ago at 275. I lost almost 100 lbs in the first year but after the first year i struggled to maintain my weight even exercising and sticking to the diet. I slowly gained back to up 235 (5 years out) and had severe reflux and my hiatal hernia was recurrent. So on 9/10/18 i had a revision from sleeve to bypass, revision of my hiatal hernia repair and my gallbladder removed. I had a rough start after surgery. I sailed thorough my sleeve recover 5 years ago easily so i though this would be the same. But I had a lot of trouble getting my fluids in and i got dehydrated and had to get IV liquids the first week and i ended up with a partial bowel obstruction the second week and back in the hospital for 5 days. The sleeve to bypass transition as been harder than i expected. I just didn't expect the surgery and adapting to the bypass stomach to be so different from the sleeve. The first month for me was very hard and i struggled to get in fluids and calories. I had a lot of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, but i think a lot of that stemmed from the problems with the partial bowel obstruction. I am 6 weeks out now and doing much better. I still struggled with hitting my fluids goal and my new pouch is very grumpy at times so it doesn't like alot of things..lol But i have found foods that are gentle to my stomach and I getting my energy level back up. I have always able to eat pretty much anything i wanted, even after the sleeve surgery nothing really bothered my stomach. Spicy, beef, rich or fried food etc.. This was both a blessing and a curse, but after the bypass my stomach is very sensitive. So far and i have to be very careful trying new things because my bypass pouch will let me know quickly if she doesn't like it. Good luck with your surgery what ever you decide. I hope my post doesn't scare you off. Although, my complications can happen they are not the norm. I admit had times the last 6 week that i had "buyers remorse" ( which is pretty normal) and though what have i done. But now that i am gaining my strength back and staring to feel better, and i am losing i feel like this was the right decision for me,a nd these complication and limitations will help keep me on the right path to success. As of today I have lost 35lb (counting my 2 week preop liquid diet). They say revision patients will lose slower than first time WLS patients, but i am happy with my progress so far. I had a 2 week staff after the 3rd week, and i just started losing again. Hopefully, It will continue! Best of luck to you! Keep us posted!
  17. I hope we both start losing again so! Hopefully this is just a small bump in the road. I try to stay positive. I guess i am just having a bad day. I did find this article that made me feel a little better about the 3 week stall. https://www.mybariatricdietitian.com/mbd-blog/the-3-week-stall-after-weight-loss-surgery
  18. Stall, Stall, Stall.......I'm frustrated. I am 5 weeks out revision from sleeve to bypass. I also had a set back of a small bowl obstruction which landed my back in the hospital week 2. I guess i am in the dreaded 3 week stall. I haven't lost anything since the 3rd week. I lost 14.8 prior to surgery and 16. 8 lbs since surgery on 9/10, but nothing since the 3rd week. I have actually gain and lost the same 1-2 lbs for the last 2 weeks. I know it happens, and by body and adjusting and all that, but it is still just discouraging. I am getting my protein in and i have been doing better with liquids although i still need to improve more on that. It is just that, we are eating so little compared to preop, and i can't help but thinking, I should be losing something every week. My mind says how in the world can i not be lose anything for 2 weeks on what i am eating?? I am a revision from sleeve to bypass so i know i may also lose slower than other new bypass patients. I just can help but worry will the stall break? Will i not lose anything else? Will this not work for me because I had previous WLS? I'm sure i am am overreacting today (I hope!) but today I just seem more frustrated than other days, and I needed to vent to those i know will understand my frustration. I had prepared myself for stall, or so I though, I just i just really didn't prepare myself, that this soon out i would be going into a 3rd week of a stall. End of venting session. Thanks for listening.
  19. I am post revision from sleeve to bypass 5 weeks today and I'm starting to transition to a more normal diet. I had a really tough time in the beginning with dehydration and then I had a stay back in the hospital for a bowel obstruction, but I am doing much better now. My eating has gone pretty well the last week. There were a few things my stomach just didn't like but I am learning what it likes and doesn't like. I just wondered what others normal daily menu looked like what portion sizes you are eating. I know everyone one post-op plans and doctors orders seem to be different, so I though it would be interesting to see what others are doing. If you want post pictures of you meals to show portions sizes I think that would be helpful for lots of us to see. Thanks in advance for your time.!
  20. Any of you on the pureed diet? I am hoping to get the approval to move forward today. How much did you start off eating at first? What did you eat? I am thinking of trying egg salad ? 1 oz 2 ounce? How did it go? How did the restriction feel?
  21. I am 7 days today revision from sleeve to bypass, hiatal hernia repair and gallbladder removal. I have had a rough time getting my fluids in and a lot of stomach spasms. The day after surgery in the hospital I did great. I drank fine went home second day no problem. But them I started have stomach spasms with cold fluids and my protein drinks. I couldn't get my fluids in and got dehydrated. I am doing better with getting fluids in, but I had a bad 3 hours bout with spams last night for unknown reasons. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I am hoping to move forward to pureed but I am nervous about having more problems with my pouch not liking it I never had any issues with spasms with the sleeve only just felt full. Anyone in pureed yet? Anyone having trouble with spasm? How do u feel the restriction? Do you just feel like you are full?
  22. I'm really struggling. I'm five days post op. I have lost 7 lbs since surgery 18lbs since i started the 2 week diet but I feel awful. I am struggling to drink anything. The protein shakes cause my stomach to cramp severely. Anything cold like sugar free pop cycles cause my stomach to cramp severely even just took temperature drink cause some pain. I am very dehydrated. Luckily my niece came by and started an In IV for me at home to keep me out if the ER but I am just getting some down that I am not progressing. Has anyone else had such an issue with stomach cramps spams? I talked to the doctor's office and they said that after bypass surgery anything you introduce is introducing something new so not to worry about getting my protein shakes and right now just worry about getting my fluids in to stay hydrated.
