  1. I’m post op. Surgery was April 26. Gastric bypass. Generally I’ll have a yogurt for breakfast(doc said Greek yogurt was good and it’s 15g of protein) then a protein shake for lunch and dinner. I don’t feel hungry but when I get, I also don’t feel full and that scares me for the future phases of diet.
  2. I feel like I never feel full. Which scares me for the future. Is this normal? It makes me not want to eat at all because I’m scared I’ll eat too much and stretch it out.

    Sex?

Uh oh... too late. lol. Made it 5 days... 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I never really had any pain since surgery so I was fine. Lol.

    Gas pains after surgery

I take gas-x chewable extra strength. I take 2 tablets every 12 hours and haven’t had gas since and I’m only 5 days post op. Walking or just moving in general helps a lot. It gets easier. Day 2 and 3 I’ve only downs a bottle of water and a protein shake. Day 4 and 5 I got 2 protein shakes and 2 bottles of water. Just sip it over time. I sometimes have to put it back in the fridge and take a break. It takes me at least 2 hours to finish one but I’m getting 64 grams of protein a day. My fluids I haven’t quite hit yet. I only get about 40 out of 64. But any progress is better than no progress.
  5. Since we are all grown ups here, how long after surgery should you wait to have sex? My doctor never said anything about it. Just curious. Lol.

    Travel diet after surgery

Your first 2 weeks after surgery(for most, not all) is a liquid diet so water, protein shakes, chicken broth. Maybe invest in a cooler and just buy ice every once in awhile to keep things cold? Just trying to throw out suggestions. [emoji5]

    2nd phase after surgery

My body tends to only tolerate flavored water as opposed to plain water. Low sodium chicken broth has been a life saver!

    Band or Sleeve?

My surgeon won’t even do the band anymore because of the risks and potential to revise it. Most insurances (if your insurance covers it) will only pay for one surgery.
  9. My program requires 6 months to prove you can stick to the new healthy lifestyle and what not. With college and work, it took me 2 years. I’m 3 days post op. [emoji5]
  10. I’m 3 days post op and I swear I check this app everyday. You just and your stories have made this journey a lot easier. You don’t feel so alone when you see all these people going through what you are. Stay positive. [emoji173]️ Highest weight: 316 Surgery weight: 301 Current weight: assuming 301 since I’m only 3 days post op. [emoji5]
  11. How long after surgery did you wait to start exercising more than just walking?
  12. I’m 2 days post op and finally had a BM. That’s great and all but now I feel like it won’t stop and I’m going to have lose bowels while I’m sleeping or something. Anyone else experience this? Any advice please?

  14. I have been having a lot of gas pains so I can’t tell if I’m full or if it’s just the gas. Is it safe to take gas relieving medications post op?
  15. Has anyone found it really hard to stick to the liquid diet?! I’m struggling and my surgery is in 2 days. Help.... [emoji30]
