  1. Good luck on surgery tomorrow to all of you. Please let us know how it goes!
  2. Its so funny how different everyones experiences seem to be. They have drilled in my head how important it was to dramatically decrease my carbs. They told me I would be going through enough changes that basically going cold turkey on carbs was something i didnt wanna be doing on top of everything else.
  3. I only meant that possibly the surgeon was thinking along the same lines and wants to see compliance on your part before putting u through for approval. Just a thought.
  4. I was told my insurance won't even pay for it if I have any gain in the 6 mos pre op. It was explained by my primary care doctor as ...... "They don't want to waste the money paying if you can't comply. It is a tool and you still have to do your part."
  5. If you go to trending topics there is a summer 2018 surgery buddies post. I'm sure u will find someone close to your date there. I don't have a date yet but am expecting late Aug/early Sept.
  6. I had never heard of that. Just googled it and some of their soups sound really good! The tomato basil and broccoli cheese, yum!!! There r recipes similar to both on pinterest.
  7. I don't know about your particular plan, but my Aetna has a 6 month requirement. I had already been seeing my pcp, endocrinologist, and a dietitian for 2 months for weight loss before my initial bariatric consult and was told they wouldn't count. I had to start from that point. Yours may be different, that was my experience.
  8. There are tons on Pinterest, that's where I have found most of mine. As far as bone broth goes, you can just put your meaty bones and any combo of herbs spices and chopped veggies that you like in water and slow simmer all day. I do mine just as if I were making a base for chicken soup. Can do beef as well.
  9. I bought silicone ice cube trays. Im going to make homemadr bone broth and cream or puree soups and since portion sizes will be so small at first, i will freeze them into cubes and store in a gallon ziploc bag so I can just pull out a few at a time and warm up.
  10. I thought i read somewhere that you can only make edits for a certain amount of time after the initial post???? Could be wrong though.
  11. Every time I tried low carb diets in the past, the parmesan chips and Turkey pepperoni chips were always a favorite too!
  12. I can't believe the differences in such a short time! U look great!
  13. I hope it's nothing serious! Thoughts going out to you, feel better!
  14. Thanks Chris! I’m so excited! I get so excited for everyone! Feels like its taking me forever. Ready for my turn...lol I do, however, love reading the experiences all of u have before me. This site literally prepares u for just about anything I think!
  15. I need to write all of these suggestions down that im getting! Thank you!
  16. Yo-Yo Girl, i hope after surgery u give us a detailed play by play...lol. I wanna know everything before its my turn.. How your feeling, what u are and arent using. Tips and tricks....everything! Lol
  17. Its not as big as alot of the companys. It is a very small town in PA. They also make coffees now.
  18. I grew up in a town with a fresh spring that now bottles and sells their water. Cant get any better than it, in my opion. Roaring Spring bottled water.
  19. I bought the little 2 oz disposable jello shot type cups with lids for in the beginning. A friend said she used them alot.
