    Pre-op Not Dating until Post

LOL! I have been lurking around Match.com for a couple days. I just want to go have some fun with another adult. I may end up dating earlier than anticipated too.

    Weight loss stats!

So, I hit my 3 month mark about a week ago. I have lost 45 pounds post surgery. This last month has been an incredibly slow weight loss. Snail's pace compared to the first few weeks. I haven't been getting enough sleep and I should be drinking more than 64 ounces of water. I'm going to work on that and see if it helps. I was weight lifting before, but I haven't been exercising. I have been doing some body weight exercises in prep for starting back up again. Lifting heavy things will burn some calories for sure so hopefully I should see better results. Maybe I can get my rear end back. LOL, I lost it somewhere around month 2.
  3. I was off work for 5 days. Had surgery on a Wednesday, went back to work the following Monday. I was really tired and low energy, but got through it just fine.

    Anyone In Northern Cali?

I went through Kaiser Richmond on Sept 11th. I started at an orientation meeting. Then met with my surgeon who gave me a goal weight to get to. When I reached that weight I called in to schedule my next appointments. I met with the psych doc first then met with the case manager who scheduled my surgery date. I did have an EKG test while I waited for the date and had blood work done. That was it. Simple and streamlined.

Let’s talk and see what happens?

Maybe a walk near water would be a nice time. Sit and watch the waves or boats. A festival/fair might be a good second date. We have to be more creative in trying to come up with non-food things to do.

So to keep things moving, another question. Since we as a group are no longer "food centric", what will you do on your date? For me, I think coffee (decaf for us!) for the first meeting. That way we could talk and listen to each other to see if we are compatible for a more in depth "date".

Ok, so, who is currently dating after your surgery, how are you meeting people, and how is it going? I am only a month out so I am electing to not date until maybe 6 months out.

Let's keep this going....I'm a single, 44, female in northern California. Had my sleeve 9-11-19.

    Any September Sleevers?

Yes. I stayed the same weight for 3 days, but then it bumped down 0.6 ounces which put me at 19 pounds total. This is my first 2 weeks so going from 1200 calories per day pre-surgery to maybe 500 calories post-surgery per day really dropped some pounds for me. I know it will not keep at this pace. I'll take what I can get for now.

Me too! I'm planning on waiting 6 months. I just want to be really comfortable with what and how much I can eat/drink before going out with someone new. I would be mortified if I all of a sudden needed a bathroom on date!

    Any September Sleevers?

All cleared for Stage 3 diet! 2 weeks done and 19 pounds gone. I am also allowed to soak in my tub and start exercising again.
  12. I am 2 weeks post OP but have plans to resume lifting soon. I have a question regarding protein shakes. If our stomachs are much smaller then normal, can we actually absorb all the protein in a shake? Say my shake is 30 grams, am I able to absorb 30 grams or only 15 grams?

    September Sleevers???

You were absolutely right. I chose not to put on a new patch last night and woke up this morning with much clearer vision. Not 100% back to normal but way better than yeaterday.

    September Sleevers???

Had my surgery. Things went well. It's now day 3 and my stomach muscles are still sore, hurts to stretch or bend over. My stomach still feels bloated but no gas pain. Weirdly my eyesight is a bit blurry. I am meeting my clear liquid goals. Tomorrow I can start cream soups, yogurt, pudding, and cream of wheat cereal. No hunger per say, but I am looking forward to some yogurt and pudding. I hope I still like it.

    Any September Sleevers?

Had my sleeve surgery yesterday. I just got home an hour ago. My stomach feels like i did 1 thousand crunches. My nausea was very bad at the beginning but has pretty much gone away. The gas pain is real. I had it in my upper back up and over my chest and both shoulders. 5 walks and 5 times using deep breathing, only 1 shoulder has some discomfort. Each day things get better and less sore. I do not regret my surgery at all.
