lifeisgoodforM reacted to Gagsy in Water water water
How do you do it? I used to always be well hydrated but having surgery has actually had a negative effect on my drinking habits. I'm just not thirsty anymore and drinking Water feels like a chore now more than ever.

You are exhausted on so many levels darling.
You must get some liquids in or you will get sick from dehydration. I fear you are on your way to that already. Try some hot tea first thing in the morning, even put a half teaspoon of honey in it.
The shakes sucked for me after surgery as well, for all the same reasons you list. I had the smell aversion thing as well and no desire for food either. I could only tolerate ready-made Isopure punch or blue raspberry diluted with crystal light. But homemade potato Soup made with chicken Bone Broth and minced canned chicken was tolerated if I ate very slowly. Find two things you can tolerate and stick with it until you calm down and progress.
I am glad you are quitting the toxic job environment and that you have family support - use it while you need to focus on your health.
Keep us informed. Hang in there.

Only you know what you are feeling and if you are unable to drive, that’s a problem. My suggestion would be to call your surgeon first and let them know what is going on, they might just call in a prescription or they might want to meet you at the ER. Most docs want a heads up if there’s an issue. I hope you get relief soon.

Hi! I’m new here too. I just had surgery Wednesday. Good for you for joining early. I’m not the most knowledgeable with the hands on (yet), but I’m also a RN. I wish you all the best as you wait for surgery!

I got that card from my surgeon. it explains to restaurants that I've had gastric sleeve and should be allowed to order off the children's or senior menu...and gives them a contact number if they have questions.
They technically don't have to allow this, but nearly everyone will with the card.

Oh well damn. That just hurt my feelings.
Honestly, I think he may be dealing with some issues regarding your smaller frame. He isn’t used to you being smaller so he is acting out in either jealous, insecurity or both. I am sorry you have to hear that but if losing the weight makes you happy, that’s all the matter.
Sometimes we have to cut the dead root to really blossom.

Yeah, odds are you have a UTI. I’m so sorry. Hopefully, you can get some antibiotics ASAP and will feel better in 24-48 hours. Tylenol might help with some of the discomfort until you get seen, but please call your doc and follow their rules for taking medications.

Hi everyone Had my surgery on 3-7-18. Getting used to all the new “things” like swallowing, finding out the new baseline when you are full, and how different liquids react with the new stomach... I feel like all I do is sip on liquids all day long. However, everyday it gets better and better... less pain, less gas and able to sleep on my sides now.
