gahvi reacted to Matt Z in TMI - Pooping at work
Not sure if it's just me (I'm pretty sure it's not) but pooping at work, post bypass is a crazy embarrassing event! I've had folks walk, in and then turn right around and leave thanks to the wonderful new smells I'm producing! So embarrassing! And it lingers think and heavy, like some cross between tear gas and smog, some unseen nasal assault team going full speed ahead attempting to cause gagging.
I've recently decided to bite the bullet and buy some Poop-Pourri, just a little 4oz bottle to pocket and take with me to the can. I don't want to advertise or promote, but for what it's worth, it helped out greatly. A few times it didn't work as described, but it sure helped! I don't feel super ashamed leaving the toilet now!
Figured we could share some horror stories or other "Pooping at work" related tidbits / tips/ tricks etc

Happy to hear everyone is doing well!
I'm little over 60 #'s down, about 40 more to go. I feel great, and I love the way I look in clothes. Not in clothes is a different story! I'm starting to think about and plan for plastics!

That’s awesome Orchids&Dragons! Keep it up.
I’ve lost 72lbs so far. I sometimes get very discouraged as the scale doesn’t move as much as it did in the first couple of months. I need 80 more pounds to reach my goal. I hope I get there. 😬 -

gahvi reacted to sillykitty in regretting my sleeve
Please consider seeing a therapist. This is an incredibly self destructive thought process. You are young, take this time to get mentally healthy.

gahvi reacted to lex2287 in regretting my sleeve
I regretted my sleeve the first few days after surgery as well, but have grown to love my sleeve.. it was the absolute best decision I could have ever made for myself.. it is hard in the beginning because you are relearning how and what to eat. It is not the end of the world.. I am much more satisfied now with food than I ever was when I was bigger. My relationship with food has changed. once you are able to have regular food again it will get better. The worst part of the entire thing to me was the liquid and purée part of the diet. Don’t do anything to sabatoge your surgery, right now you are at risk of having a leak. If you ever feel like talking please reach out. I am here as well as many others in this group..

How are all the other February sleevers doing, 4 months out?
Tomorrow is my 4 month surgiversary, down 67# so far. I've never lost 67# at one time before, YAY!!!

gahvi reacted to stacjo in Does anyone regret getting the sleeve?
The effects are limited. I gained the weight back, and I never even lost that much, about 35 lbs. for the first year I ate less than 800 and stalled the last 10 months. They asked if anyone regretted and I do. I am at my starting weight. I didn’t place blame you did.

gahvi got a reaction from lovemy2girls in Anyone have a revision?
I also had a revision on the 13th of February. So far everything is going as planned. I’ve lost 51 pounds in 8 weeks. Not sure how to compare the VSG with those that didn’t have lap band revision. I’m thinking each case will vary per person. I’d say stick with doctors instructions and you will have success.

gahvi reacted to FindingCarrie in 14 Weeks Post Op - Multiple Stalls
So I am 14 weeks Post op, and things are going great. However, I have had several stalls, which get discouraging. I will go 2-3 weeks and not lose a pound, and then drop 5 lbs in one week! So weird how the body works. When I am feeling disappointed in the slow weight loss, I do side by side photo comparisons of before and after. Here is one that lifted my spirits today. When you see yourself every day, you don't always see the huge changes that are taking place. Don't always count on the scale to show you your victories! Use photos and body measurements as well. You will need them at times when the scale is not moving.

gahvi reacted to Sleeved36 in Running/exercise again?
I think the timeline for returning to exercise is individual. There is a huge difference in age and health status in this group, all sleevers are in a slightly different boat.
That being said, don't mess up your new joint (Or any of your originals) with too much running. Maybe try a little biking/hiking/swimming too?
Not trying to start a fiery debate about running. It can be a part of a healthy lifestyle, but it is also tough on your knees/hips.
