I did not want anyone to know about it but my mom who had it with me shouts it to the roof tops and I did not have a choice, IT is hard I have people asking me all the time have you lost weight and yes I was really heavy but give me a break! It's like walking up to someone and saying are you pregnant?? I just think that it is so rude... or they say how much have you lost( it pisses me off especially skinny people) I always say 10 pounds and then if I am with my mom she blurts out NO 50 lbs but I do not mind sharing with some people but please I do not want to loose 100 lbs and have people asking if I have lost any weight or have then saying well she must have weighed @$#^&*^#&@% that is so shocking or whatever!

I wanted to know everyone who was banded around January 2006? How much have you lost in pounds and or inches?? Sizes if you want to tell?? OR IF you just want to tell me how much you lost in the first 5 or 6 months??

I would go to a Doctor that does Inamed it is the ONly FDA approved band also the research seems to be that the UNamed band that holds 10cc has little to no erosions..

I have hear Dr. Aceves is great I had surgery with Dr Lopez-corvala and a friend had it with dr Aceves and she had no pain or bruising I know a CNP that takes people down to mexico and stays with them and also she can give you medicine and shots for pain if needed. I think dr Berger in flagstaff is the best I have heard of I have seen him post op.. But I have friends who reccomend him, and they run a business that help people get the surgery, and find good dr's!

How much do you love your doctor?? I was banded in Mexico but I tried to get banded by doctor Berger with insurance and I wish I would have paid for it anyway,,But di you trust everything he says,, Is there any dr that you think is better?? wondering I think he is great but I have only talked with and seen him 3-4 times?..!

Hey I see you are moving to show low there is about 10-15 of us that have bands in the Taylor- Snowflake area that is 15 miles north of showlow and we are starting a support group that meets everymonth soon,. INtersted? Anyone else from the whitemountain area??

You know not to worry you but I got that feeling about 2months after and I went to a near by speacilist and my port has come loose and I have not yet had it re attached he said it would be ok because there is one stitch in it still but eventually I will have it re tacked down..There is alot of soreness and tenderness often, daily.. But my mom had it the same day and she was really sore for about a month or so.. Good Luck!

I think that they try and fit you with the right size band is what my dr said if the 4cc band does not fit they put the other one on, it sounds like just a misjudgement, but i am glad that you are ok, it also seems like there is less erosion with the big band.

actually I do not think Vanguard is made by Inamed but INamed does make a band that holds 10cc My aunt who had surgery with me and my mom in January has it.

wow that is amazing my mother and I had surgery in January and have each lost 50 pounds and although we think that we want to have plastic surgery when we get to goal we are anxious about it. It sounds like you looked around? was there alot of research involved? do you know people who reccomnd him? does the hospital speak english? hope it goes well can't wait to see. Did you say you are getting a belt all the way around?

I want to see were everyone has got it done, and with who?? Who do you think are good DR's, and who are not? What is the longest time a person you know has had the band? How long have you had the band? Any Problems?. Also were you had it Done?? THanks The oldest banders I know of have had them for 7 years old and I know 3 women with them, they did it in FRANCE. No problems that I know of.

Hi, although I used to love meat I am almost veg now just do to the fact that is hard for me to ear so I have high protein shakes with soy or other high protein food I think that you will be very successful with this good luck.

I see that you said you were banded by Dr Lopez did you erode and if so why did they say,? was it the DR?

I was wondering if the said what caused the erosion? was it the port or an infection from the repositoning or what I need to have my port repositioned and I am delaying it so I was curious. Although I am having it done in the US I had the same Dr in Mexico as you. Do you think it was the DR.

I have been banded for 2 1/2 months and realize that is not a long time but I can't help butnotice that everyone seems to loose alot at the first I followed everything and I even started a high energy exercise program for 30 a day everyday. I have only lost about 15 pounds and I also have a 2cc fill has anyone else had this happen.. I have alot to loose 150 lbs please help! If you are wondering about the ticker it was a 3 month goal I set when I had the surgery!

NO I have alot more than that to loose the 35 pound ticker is a first goal I get very dissappointed when I look at the whole thing so I start small..

I was wondering if any one hs paid for a fluro fill in the US preferably in Arizona but if not that is ok and how much did it cost.. Also if you have had both kinds of fills and thought that it made a difference or not.. was the fluro better or the same as a blind fill...
