  1. I have read in other threads that some people do enemas the night before surgery and this is suppose to relieve gas after the surgery. Is this in fact true??
  2. WJT, I had my appointment with Dr. Jones on January 17th and I have my surgery date set for March 19th. I probably could of had it at the beginning of March but I was suppose to have my gallbladder removed. I had an appointment set for that in March then I cancelled it. I decided against having the gallbladder out. So I rescheduled my lapband to March 19th. They are usually booking about 5 weeks from the time you meet with the surgeon. Good luck!!
  3. Hi ~ I couldn't find the thread you talked about posting. What happened yesterday? Sherri

  10. I'm still on my first week of my pre-op diet. Mainly liquids with one low fat/carb meal. After I eat that one meal I get horrible pains in my stomach. Tonight I had 2 egg beaters and 1/2 of an english muffin. Soon after, my stomach gets horrible pains. What is this???
  11. I'm on my second day of my 2 week pre-op diet. I've been drinking my Protein drinks and trying to stick to the 1000 calorie diet. I'm suppose to have 3 shakes per day plus one low fat/carb "real meal". I had my 4 oz. of pork roast, 1 tbsp of fat free gravy and one cup of green Beans. Right after I ate, my stomach was making all sorts of sounds and a feeling of gas popping. A few hours after I ate I flew to the bathroom and had a major diarrhea explosian!! What's up with that?????? Sherri
  12. I started my 2 week pre-op diet yesterday and I've messed up a few times. A couple of crackers here and a couple of cheese-nips there. Will this totally mess up my pre-op stuff?
  13. I just started my 2 wk pre-op diet. The diet says that I can have broth, bouillon or consomme at any time. Does it count if I drain Campbells chicken noodle Soup and just drink the broth with some Water added??? If I can do that I just might get through this phase!! Sherri
  14. Hello, I'm having my surgery at BIMDC on March 19th. Does anyone know what size bands they use? Is it the same size across the board or do they use different sizes for different reasons? Sherri
  15. Hello,, My surgery is scheduled for March 19th. I work from home, I plan to take a week off. If I feel better the second week I will start working but if I don't I will take more time. I'm lucky that I have the flexibility to do that. I can only pray that I have a quick recovery!! I hate pain!! Sherri
  16. Hello, My name is Sherri and I'm from Plymouth, Ma. I finally have my surgery date, March 19th. It will be a long day! I have to be at Beth Israel at 6:00 a.m. and I live two hours from the hospital! UGH!! I just can't wait to get this done. I feel like I've been waiting for so long. Of course, I have my nervous moments! I'm not as nervous for the surgery as I am after the surgery. The thought of not eating drives me crazy! What if I'm craving food and I can't have it...will I go nuts???? AHHHH Anyway, I'm looking forward to my surgery and having this website to come to for advice!! I will need it! Sherri
  17. HI, Anyone out there being banded at Beth Israel in March 07??? Sherri
  18. Hello, I found that I need to have my gallbladder removed prior to lapband surgery because of stones. I'm going through BIMDC and they won't do both surgeries at the same time. Does anyone know if any hospital in the Boston area will do both surgeries together?? Sherri
  19. HI, Did you have gallstones prior to lapband surgery or was it after? My doctor won't remove the gallbladder the same time as lapband surgery. Either way I would have to have two surgeries. What symptoms did you have?? Thank you!! It's nice to have someone else's view!! Sherri
  20. At my ultrasound I found that I have some gallstones. I really do not want to have my gallbladder removed. It is more of a preventative surgery. Has anyone had gallstone problems either before or after the lapband surgery??? NEED ADVICE!!! Sherri
  21. Has anyone been told they have gallstones but decided not to get the gallbladder removed prior to Lapband surgery? If so, have you had any problems?? Sherri
  22. Is anyone besides me having a problem with the chat room? When I sign in I get an error saying "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computermay become unresponsive". Does anyone have any suggestions? Sherri
  23. When do you have to start the pre-op diet, is it after you visit with the nutritionist?? I had my ultrasound yesterday and found out that I have a fatty liver. I assume I will have to go on this pre-op diet as well before surgery???? Sherri
  24. Has anyone been told that they had a fatty liver when they had their ultrasound done? I know why I have a fatty liver...bad eating habits, but can I reverse that substantially prior to surgery??? I probably won't have my surgery until mid to late March. If I start eating a low-fat diet, will this help??
  25. Hi John, How is the liquid diet coming along? I'm sure it's torture! I had my ultrasound today. The tech saw gallstones which isn't great! I'm not very pleased with that. I have my last two appointments with the pysch and the nutritionist on Monday. After you got finished with all of your appointments, how long did it take for you to get an appointment with the surgeon??? I'm hoping it won't take very long! If I have to get my gallbladder removed it may push my lapband surgery back. I'm very anxious and just want to get into lapband land!! Talk soon, Sherri
