  1. Went from 44F to 34C-D on a 5’1” frame. I go back and forth on wanting a lift. Not interested in implants. They’ve always been droopy but now they’re empty-droopy 😅 We’ll see. Stomach is up first -then we’ll see how I feel after the healing from that.
  2. I lost 15lbs on the 2 week liquid preop diet. Mine was 3 protein shakes a day. It was a hangry time period for me 😹
  3. Keep at it! I too am finding it difficult to get the last of the pounds off. The stalls are long but upping my exercise and being vigilant on my food intake seem to be helping along with riding the stalls out. I’m hoping to be out of the ‘overweight’ BMI by my 2 year surgiversary in October.

A couple NSV’s for spring! I ran 11 miles today 🙌🏽 Still working towards that 13.1, but I’m taking my time and preventing injuries along the way. I also ran a 33 minute 5k. My next goal will be to run one under 30minutes. I’m able to run up 4 flights of stairs at work to get to bed meeting (I’m an ER nurse) and only be semi-winded. I used to dread walking up even my own stairs in my house (I seriously would avoid going upstairs at all costs) and now it doesn’t really bother me. Still working toward the goals on the scale at 18 months out so any little NSV keeps the motivation going. 🧡 Shout out to my slow losers, not getting to goal before 1 year post op doesn’t mean you aren’t working just as hard.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

I have my next check up in a little less than 2 weeks (17mos post op) and I was kind of down on my self about not being at goal yet. I’ve been working out/ IF but my body is hanging onto these last 20lbs for dear life. I know it’s just a stall and they get longer the further out you get but it’s still frustrating when you hit one. 😒
  6. Trying for a 20:4 today/ tomorrow. My difficulty is with diet drinks. I crave diet iced tea like there’s no tomorrow. 🙈

    Post Op Bra Size

Went from a 36DD pre weight gain to 44F at my heaviest and now a 34C and still shrinking 😭. All that’s left is pretty much sagged skin with very little breast tissue. I’m only 5’1 and small framed so I’m not looking for breast implants but a lift is in my future once I hit goal. 🤦🏽‍♀️
  8. I get dizzy when I have too many carbs. Im over a year out and probably could eat a small serving of spaghetti but if I overdo it, it makes my pouch feel like it’s going to explode and negative conditioning is very real so I stay away. 😂 When I make spaghetti for my family, I eat maybe 1/4 cup of noodles and a small serving of sauce/ sausage. Anything beyond that and the unpleasant dizziness kicks in... Just not worth it. 😅 I usually go to the gym or for a walk during dinner on spaghetti night. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Casually training 😅 I refuse to commit to one until I hit 10 miles with AT LEAST a sub 12 min/mi pace. The fall half marathon near me kicks everyone off who doesn’t keep under 14min/mi and I would be mortified/filled with rage if it happened to me. 😣

I understand completely! I felt great until mile 6 then I was like “okay this isn’t fun anymore 😭🤬”. It’s going to take some serious work to get to 10 and 13 miles and I’ll have to figure out at what point to start adding some fuel/water during the run and what won’t cause cramping. It’s been a fun/painful journey for sure 😅

I don’t allow bread in my house and if I buy it for the kids, I make sure it has raisins in it. 🤢 I understand the trigger. Mine is chocolate. I LOVE high quality, pure milk chocolate (or with champagne infused 🥴). I’ve come to realize that it just can’t be in my house. We all have our vices, it’s just a matter of drawing a line in the sand and not crossing it. 💚
  13. I make myself face the scale everyday to keep myself accountable. I may not log every weight in MFP, but I know what the number is. I also don’t count it as a true gain unless it’s there for 3 days and I don’t beat myself up for gains the week before my period. It’s not for everyone but it helps me. Part of the reason I was able to gain so much weight in the first place was because I was in denial about the number on the scale. Also I’m over a year post op, so it’s important for me to be more diligent in preventing regain.
  14. Mint flavored gas-ex chews. Life saver in the beginning! I used to get horrible gas pains that felt like chest pressure. I walked loads after surgery but still had the pains and those really helped.

I’m taken aback at how many more clothing choices there are in nonplus sizing. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions finding clothes that not only fit, but I actually truly like. It’s been fun finding my own signature style!
