PeacockConnie reacted to Molly23 in 6th mth weight fluctuation ?
If you're starting a workout routine it's expected that your appetite will increase and you may even gain a couple of pounds. This is more likely due to building muscle and even possibly some Water retention. Make sure you increase your water intake when you workout more. My NUT recommended adding in some healthy starches to help sustain workouts. I know that we are all programmed to think that eating less is how we lose weight. However, if our body doesn't receive the correct nutrition to sustain exercise it will try to hold onto any fat it has.
I'd recommend reaching out to your NUT to review what you've been eating and any adjustments they might have. If your diet is okay it's possible that you just need another week or so of consistency for your body to start responding how you might expect.

I received great news today. Since I started my Aetna PPO insurance required pre-surgical diet with the nutritionist in November, I have lowered my cholesterol from 206 to 165! The doctor told me my numbers were "excellent". Small wins sure help you feel better about the pre- process. Happy me!

PeacockConnie reacted to laurileet in NOW i'm getting excited
When I started the 'program' at the current hospital , they asked me at my first appointment... "so, are you excited?" I burst their little bubbles by saying NO, I am not. Then explained to them that I had been trying to get WLS for 2 mind-numbing years but that because of insurance issues the rug kept getting ripped out from under me. But i'm soooooo excited now. This morning I found out I've lost 5 of the 17 lbs I need to loose, my A1C is down, and I have only 3 things left to do: Loose the remaining weight, take life classes, and complete the sleep study. THEN I can meet with the surgeons. WOOHOO this is the first time in a LONG time I've been excited about this journey. Feels good. Feels realllllll good!

You are down over 50lbs and almost 16% body weight in less than 3 mo. That’s awesome! Also, I heard once that typically you go down a size every time you lose 10% of your weight. Keep up the great work! I get sleeves on March 12 and am anxiously counting down the days [emoji51]

Honey, we lose as fast as we're gonna lose. ((hugs)) But let's do the math. You've lost 40lbs in about 10 weeks. That is 4lbs per week which is WELL above the average of 3lbs/week. Congrats! You're a quick loser!!!
Now stop comparing yourself to others! Cuz you're doing great Mamacita!!

Hi all. I was a March 1st and the first two days were rough for me. The gas was bad but not awful. But the pain was rough. I really couldn’t do Water but watered down Gatorade worked much better. Ice pops were really helpful. At no point did I have narcotics - which was probably why the pain was bad. I’m on a mixture of Tylenol, gabapentin and some other type of pain neuro something or other. I thought I made a mistake yesterday but today I’m much more clear headed. Heating pad helped a ton too. Thanks for that suggestion. Hope all of you are doing well.

I'm doing okay. Gas pains are horrible. I'm walking, walking, walking and taking gasx but nothing is coming out. The gas builds up not only in my stomach but my left shoulder as well, which is so weird to me. Pain is moderate. Definitely relying on my hydrocodone every 4 hours. Waking up every 3 hours at night automatically to either drink or pee. It's hard getting used to only sipping, cuz anything more than that hurts. But I have no nausea and I'm feeling better today than I did yesterday. Just wish the gas would go away!!

I just got five of them.......at the sams I go to, it was the new flavors that were on sale. Peaches and cream & Cookies and cream. The other flavors were regularly 16.99. My surgery is scheduled for March 26...I will definitely be stocking up.

First up I finally was approved for surgery! I got a call Wednesday that it was denied. My doctor must of given em hell as I got the call this morning that they reversed the decision and my surgery is indeed on March 14th! Whoa!
Also wanted to share a sale on Premier Protein shakes at Sam's Club. They are 12.66 for a 12 pack. There is a limit of three per member which sucks but still worthy if you use them. They have a lot of Protein type products on sale too. It started on the 28th and I do believe runs until the 25th of March.

PeacockConnie reacted to Creekimp13 in Had my Three Month check up
Perfect labs. That was music to my ears.
Perfect normal sugar. Perfect normal cholesterol. Perfect normal Vitamin levels. Absolutely every value was in the normal range.
When the hell has that ever happened before? It felt like a huge accomplishment.
More good news. Next month I'll be weening off my omeprazole....which will leave me on exactly one Rx medication....thyroid.
Perfect blood pressure, no meds.
Doc thinks I'm going overboard on walking. LOL. I have a little back and hip pain (greatly improved, but still reminds me its there from time to time) that he thinks would benefit if I cut down to 12,000 steps a day. I might bump up my swimming...which he thought was a fair.
I'm currently on a stall. Probably menstrual bloat. Doc is satisfied with my weight loss, thinks I'm doing great.
Saw nutritionist, too...no major changes. She laughed at my new love of oatmeal.
Best news of all: No more appointments...for three freakin months!!!! Whew! Man, that feels good.
I feel like this year has been one constant doctor's appointment.
Feels good to be free of the poking and prodding for a while:)
