  1. Be careful with WW after surgery. I just ran an online points calculator to find out my daily points intake. It gave me 40 points to start. One point equal out to about 50 calories. Based on 40 points x 50 = 2000 calories a day which is way more than my program says i should intake. That much food maybe to much for a modified stomach. I food log everything I eat to to help keep me accountable. Maybe reach out to your surgery team if they offer meetings. My insurance offers a post surgery group weekly. I go and use the scale there for my weekly weigh in for my tracking and then hang out for the meeting. We have members from just having had surgery to one that is 8 years out. Our meetings are led with a behaviorist and nutritionist who alternate weekly. Best thing is you recognize change needs to happen, so make it happen. ?
  2. @Seahawks Fan just keep working at it. I was a month and a half in the 250s. If you need to break out of a stall there are 2 ways. Introduce more exercise (intensive cardio workouts) or shift calories to your body. I take it your hitting the gym as you mentioned muscle mass increase, maybe add a little more cardio. Our bodies like to regulate themselves, so by introducing a change you can usually break out of a plateau. Here is a good article explaining it the plateau, https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/weight-loss/in-depth/weight-loss-plateau/art-20044615 ,talk to your team regarding the calories (article says to drop them, which we usually can't as we are already low). I spoke to my nutritionist and she actually is the one who recommend more calories to break out. I was only at about 1000 calories a day and when I told her my workouts she encouraged me to move to at least 1200-1400 daily. I lift 3-4 times a week and alternate jogging every day in between on top of my daily walk with the dog of 1.5 miles. So some days I get in 3-4 miles with the jog and walk. She said that my body was basically going into starvation mode and not letting go of weight because if my exercise routine. I try to keep my calories at about 1300 a day and has been working for me the last 2 months. Keep up the great work.
  3. From a week ago. On the left my shirt was a 3X had to get a an XL.
  4. I go to a post surgery group and luckily have a few veterans in the group, which has been helpful for me for future insight. One member had the VSG done 7 years ago. He said he still gets restriction. he has maintained close to goal weight. He is truly an inspiration to me.
  5. It's normal so early on to feel exhausted because of the low calorie intake. Based on your current meals of 3 shakes and a yogurt, you're at about 700 calories which is truly not enough for the human body to function like normal. I had 2 1/2 weeks off and got back to work, I was dead tired by the end of the work day, and I have a office job (wish i could have taken more time off). When I moved to Pureed foods it helped and brought in a few more calories and started adapting. It also takes a few weeks for your body to adjust to the lower intake. Hang in there.
  6. We had a mindful eating presentation during my pre-op classes. It was done with a hershey's kiss and it was mind boggling how one small kiss would change my outlook on eating.
  7. My wife doesn't mind it in front of our toilet. All she asks is that I clean it and not her.
  8. at week 5 I was between 500-700 calories
  9. Great job on getting in activity. If you are working out as much as you posted you need energy to keep going. My nutritionist had me add more calories daily to keep up with my new routine. Talk to your bariatric team on this as well as how much activity you are getting in, I had to wait 6 weeks to be cleared for exercise beyond walking.
  10. my goto was ground turkey, a low carb pasta sauce blended together. Add a little parm when eating and its like heaven
  11. I have Kaiser in Southern California. If you have gone through the Options Classes (sounds like yes) you are in. A friend was put on a different program as they did not meet the requirement for Options (BMI 40+ or BMI 35-39 with one co morbidity). If not sure just speak to the Health office coordinator where the classes where held and ask if your referral to the surgeon has been sent.
  12. Was Sleeved back in March of this year, turned 40 a month later. I looked into it about 5 years ago but decided to wait. Right after surgery I thought should have done it then, but now is a better time than any and feel my thinking has matured more. I am no longer Diabetic (type 2 since 2011) and everything else has been great health wise. Just got into running, slow and and steady but building endurance, and planning on doing my first 5K this Thanksgiving. When I started walking back in September of 2017 at the beginning of my Sleeve journey I was walking at a 24 minute mile, currently right under 15 minutes a mile now. So far this has been a great experience and an eye opener at my lifestyle. I weigh less now than when I got married 16 years ago and almost down to my high school weight. My motivation is flying high and am enjoying this part of my life.
  13. Almost 4 months out
