Off topic (not such a bad thing to be honest) but don't beat yourself up. Some days driving through town is a puther mucker to avoid stopping off for something I shouldn't have. I never thought I'd be able to give up my diet Mt Dew but going on a year now without. It's a challenge and as difficult as giving up smoking. We all have our own battles to deal with in our own way.

I like EAS Advant Edge vanilla Protein Powder. It can be mixed with frozen berries, Peanut Butter powder, yogurt, etc for additional flavors. I haven’t tried it in this brand of powder Protein but, in the past, a I would add some sugar-free Jello Gelatin powder for different flavors. I liked cherry the best.

I went to my first post op check in and am excited that already I am able to get rid of Metformin. My glucose level is all normal and Im 30 pounds down. Im so encouraged by the way my body is responding to the surgery. Working on my energy level but just thankful for the wonderful advice I've gotten here as a "lurker" and for this surgery. I feel hopeful about my health and more in control of my destiny then ever before.

Premier Protein shakes for me as well. The cheapest place I've found them is Sam's club. Looking forward to trying Cookies and cream next. I haven't found any bars I like.....

I’ve always wanted a hot tub for sore muscles and you’ve just given me another reason to want one. “Water is our friend!” You said it and I believe it. Time to start saving [emoji857].

Hi @Tealael. I agree that there are trolls. I even had one. I suspected he was up to no good when I saw he never posted nor replied to anything but sent a flirty message. And I think it’s a good idea to let others know.
Although likening this forum to Salem may be a reach, thank you for being positive. Our opinions differ obviously but I appreciate how considerate you are when you share your view.

Hi@Tealael. It may seem like a lot of personal attacks to you on one person, however, in reality the posts on this thread are RESPONSES to personal attacks on other members. It’s unclear to me how you may not conclude that after reading through the thread from the beginning.

Although “text on a screen doesn’t always indicate tone IRL,” the tone is clear in this thread.@goldenbarbie has gone pretty low at times by taking personal information shared on other threads and bringing it up when a response is given she dislikes. Just as characters in a book are clear as individuals and have varying personalities that can be discerned based on their responses to and interactions with other characters, their tones can be expressed clearly through written word with many people noting the same tones.

The tone used by the OP was viewed in the same way by many members who then backed up those who were verbally smacked by OP. So, while you may believe that the OP is being personally attacked, quite the opposite is true...she has personally attacked others. “Did you go to the gym today,” was not a harmless question because it was not asked in a polite, positive conversation. It was asked as a way to shut down those who posted responses the OP disliked.

    Sigh

KatFight reacted to Alex Brecher in Five Signs that You’re Not Ready for Weight Loss Surgery
The decision whether to get weight loss surgery is one of the most important ones you will ever make. If it is right for you, bariatric surgery can give you a new lease on life as you lose weight and feel great. If you are not ready, weight loss surgery can be a painful experience that does not solve your weight problems.

If you are on the fence about it, take your time coming to a decision. Even if you are theoretically eligible for it, you might have a funny feeling about it still. Here are five signs that might be saying that you are not yet ready for WLS.
    1. You want to know how soon you can have …
Whatever “…” may be, if you are counting down the days until you can have it after your surgery, you might be missing the point. This is a lifetime commitment. It is not a 30-day period of abstinence from alcohol or from pizza. If your mindset is that this is a short-term race to goal weight, bariatric surgery might land you where other diets have: at goal weight and then back to starting weight, plus a few pounds.
    2. You’re looking for any excuse to be found ineligible.
You may technically qualify for weight loss surgery based on your BMI and any obesity-related health conditions you may have, but are you ready? You might not be if you are grasping at straws to come with reasons you that you “should not” have surgery. For example, you practically ask a doctor to disqualify you because your great-grandfather (who was a smoker) died of a heart attack at age 92 and therefore you worry your heart is not strong enough to withstand surgery.
(Note: it is absolutely the right thing to do to explore all of your health history to be sure that the surgery is a relatively safe option for you. Just distinguish between real and imaginary reasons).
    3. You are seeking fourth, fifth, and sixth-second opinions.
Let’s say your primary care doctor recommends that you have the surgery, and you found a surgeon who gave you the go-ahead. It’s one thing to ask another expert for a second opinion, just to be sure that you are making the right choice. It is quite another to ask several more experts for their opinions, hoping that one of them will advise against surgery. If that is the case, it might be a sign that you are not ready to commit to weight loss surgery and the lifestyle changes that are part of that commitment.
    4. You are not sure how it would be different than dieting.
Bariatric surgery is worlds away from dieting. If you are thinking of bariatric surgery as a new diet that you will follow until you reach goal weight, you probably will not be prepared to sustain your new eating habits for life, and the weight will come back, just like it may have after countless diets. If you cannot explain to yourself why this is different than previous diet attempts, you might end up with the same results.
    5. Your SO is doing more research than you.
It seems like every day, your significant other or your mom or your sister is telling you factoids about surgery that they discovered while researching online or talking to people. In the meantime, you have not seemed to be able to find the time to look things up. The fact may be that you are just not that engaged, which may be a sign that, deep down, you are not ready to take the plunge.

A lot of people on this board have tremendous success. Many of them have made stunningly gorgeous transformations.
They post a before and after pic, get some heartfelt kudos for their hard work, and try to help others.
None of them gloat or ask random people if they've been to the gym today.
    Just sayin'

There’s a lot of back and forth on this subject. I think what you’ve posted says a lot about you. Not so golden, Barbie. And, the backpedaling explaining that when you ask people about the gym it’s positive. C’mon, you’re being passive aggressive and you know it.

I have a Bachelor of Psychology degree. Don’t try your psycho-babble on me.

Your Surgeon's office will give you information on risks. They will also monitor your weight loss. Losing too much weight is rare.
You would have to ask the person who looked "sick" if they had complications or health issues.

Yeah I agree with a couple women. Scrolling through this thread I was taken back a bit by your tone and "positivity" you are spreading so I had to comment. You asking "have you been to the gym today?" Or telling people to be productive...that tone isn't a positive one in the way you ask. It's abrasive and is meant in a hurtful way. Let's be honest here.
Also, it seems that you agressively respond to anyone who has a differing opinion than yours or calls you out on your tone or responses.
You putting people down is not cool. The people that commented who found you to also be aggressive also had several people who liked their posts which means they agree too.
I'm just a little confused and taken back by the arrogance and aggression in your comments to people.
As I'm wrapping this comment up, I'm thinking about how you are going to spread positivity in your comment back.
I'll answer your positive questions anyways...
-No, I did not go to the gym today.
-I did do something productive today. I productively ate a taco that was effing delicious and I'm gonna walk my ass around a little later.

    stay golden.

Can I ask why exercise is such a key measure of accomplishment for you? Did you read a book today? Did you learn something new? Did you make someone smile? Did you do a good deed? Did you help someone? Many ways to be productive and brighten the world around us.
