    Hello

Hi rmb973, I'm 13 years out of RNY & still get sick from foods that get stuck in my pouch. It's usually dry proteins that I don't chew well enough like fish or pork. Sometimes it's chicken and the occasional brown rice. I have to be careful with raw veggies. I ate crab legs last weekend & that didn't work well. Still learning after all this time!
  3. YAY!!! and welcome to ONE-derland!

    My bike ride sucked today....

Hey, and thanks for your post! You just triggered me to think about buying a bike with your comment about your knees. When I work out legs & butt I can hear my knees crunching. Even though it doesn't hurt now, I'm betting it will one day soon.
  5. I had mine done in my forties but i'm still hanging in there in my fifties!!!

    Feeling Hungry & Freaked out

Oh yeah I got back on track for sure. I'm comfy between 140 - 145 lbs. I prep/cook almost all meals and still focus on protein and water. It's been super helpful for me to pack a lunch cooler daily including several 20 oz bottles of crystal light. If I do go out to eat, I pre-plan what I'm going to order before going to the restaurant. I spend Sunday afternoons prepping food for the week. I did Weight Watchers at work for a few years which was a great way to keep me accountable and learn new ideas and easy recipes. Weight training and cardio have made a huge difference in my journey, and make me feel strong and more confident. Love shopping now! Lots of small changes over the last few years. It's been scary but so worth it. I know when I don't want to get on the scale, I need to asap. lol

    Feeling Hungry & Freaked out

Hi girlie. I did go back to eating more normally & gained back up to 310. Felt like such a failure. Like who goes through this surgery and screws it up like I did. This is just my experience. Others do so so well.

    Feeling Hungry & Freaked out

Hi nycgirl18. Not a chance your pouch is stretched out already! I had RNY bypass in 2005 & had an EGD in 2014 & my results were normal pouch size. Get that protein in daily along with all your supplements. Gotta do it for your new, life changing opportunity to be successful. Keep me updated please!

    Hottest social scene in town...

Hi @Mattymatt. I agree with @336Mike about grocery shopping now. But I do remember, all too well, how it feels to feel invisible. Being judged by my body size in a grocery store or WalMart sucked. I felt it every time. I was mortified when I ran into someone from college or high school. Most of them didn't even acknowledge that they knew me. Still nursing those battle scars. Tks for being vulnerable & posting something that can be so hurtful.

Chewed Piece of Chicken, Spit it Out

Hi @logicwand. Thirteen years ago I did the same thing 2 weeks post-op. Confession: I still do it from time to time now. Last week is was a bite of cheesecake.
