I just saw them I never picked up them up to read the label, but since I'm a reforming foodaholic I'd better. Weird I really don't crave sweet things anymore, well in a way it's good but a lot of things seemed to change in me when the gastritis hit. About as sweet as I want to go willingly? I'm kinda a similar size,one difference I've drug this tired body for 72 years. Now I've,had my " come to Jesus" moment last fall when my PCP gave me a diet drug and instead of losing weight I gained 30lbs. That was a high of 355, i enrolled in a bariatric program, did all the prerequirements they or my insurances asked for. Waited and waited to be given a surgery date. Imagine my shock when I was informed a committee had met and none of the surgeons in the practice wished to perform my surgery. So I will be transferring to one,of the othe other 2 programs in Center of Excellence accreditated hospitals in Columbus Ohio. I attend a seminar at #1 on March 9th, if I feel it doesn't fulfill my plans I will attend one at#2 the,morning of March 10th. This is backwards of the way things occur, I'm beginning,to think I'm more special than I thought. I am planning a RnY as I have both sleep apnea and GERD, I have lowered my weight to 323 from last fall but haven't been able to lose more. I am 5ft8in, have had arthritis since i was 25 and have had 2 knee replacements. I really want and feel I need this surgery or I'd just give up at this point. Are you anywhere near Kakaskia? I remember from history that was Illinois first capital. Anyway I am very glad to know you and I hope we will become friends. Guess what, I'm a trifle sick and congested, went to PCP yesterday, he told me to take a temporary CPAP holiday as it was aggravating my sinuses temporarily. I could not sleep, finally drifted off at 4AM back up at 6:30 to tinkle. So I spent most most of the night on my tablet or lurking and texting on Bariatric Pal. I remember her cause lets face it, I'm old as dirt! At any rate she tells the story of a youngish mother who died. She left each of of her sons a note. telling each how much she loved them and how he was her favorite. Very touching, I of course cried. At the end of the story 2 ladies are talking At the funeral. Fast food does dispense intoxicating smells, that's why many of us become foodaholics, its readily available,the smells are unbelievable, we rationlize that its cheap, it must be good for us? Wrong but many of us are hooked while children, Happy Meals make Happy Kids? No but it can make fat beachball children. Hope you're not heading for another stricture, I'm a little fearful, could be some cranky nerves, and it might be the way GERD is expressing itself in you. A lot of people have it, but the symptoms can differ. Like Creek Imp says keep an eye on it. If I were your doctor I'd want to know but I'm a poor humble kakatlady not medical personnel. Mine was equally a duh. Had started in August 2015, job terminated in January 2016, lost my insurance, to have COBRA'd over would have taken 7/8th of my Social Security monthly pension. So I didn't persue it any further. I was recently informed when I changed insurances the new one had fewer requirements, they had already approved me and were only waiting for me to supply the new numbers and a surgery date could be assigned. I surely would have gone forward had they called in 2016. I started over again last fall, as my previous certifications were all 1.5 to 2 years old, I had to do a fresh set, did it all, now they have refused to go forward, all their idea not mine. Now I will enroll in another bariatric plan, all my paperwork and charts will transfer but if plan #2 has further requirements then I'll have more to do. Nobody better say I'm uncommitted or non compliant. I feel like I've done everything short of crawling across broken glass to achieve this goal. I'm old, tired and fat, the fat part at least I can change.I can't be someone else but I can be the best ME possible. And that better be enough for everybody. Amen.
