  1. You're doing fantastic!! To have lost 30 pounds is amazing - that's over 9% of your surgery weight!! XXX
  2. I'm 3 weeks and 3 days out. I was on full liquids for the first 2 weeks then onto purees starting week 3. I can still only eat 3oz maximum and that takes me about 1 hour. 2oz is easier - that's about 40 mins. I only do this 1-2 times each day and supplement with sipping protein water/shakes. X
  3. 42 pounds! Wow! That's great! X
  4. Me too - it had me laughing out loud! X
  5. I was wondering if anyone else gets tiny butterfly spasms after RNY - almost like baby kicks in the early days for those of you who have experienced that? It's not painful or unpleasant, just a bizarre sensation. What do you all think it is??
  6. Well done! That will definitely help me stay on track when I'm tempted to stray. 6 months and you're pretty much at goal. Just WOW! x
  7. I'm an RNY patient but I couldn't sleep on my side for the first 10 days x
  8. My gas pains lasted for several days so it's most likely just that. If you're worried it's more serious, i'd check it out with your doc for some peace of mind x
  9. I have the opposite problem.... My other half has no libido whatsoever and mine has always been sky high. My partner assures me there's no one else, they fancy me and love me BUT the urge just isn't there. I've suggested a doc apt but they don't think it's a big deal. I feel so ugly, unwanted and rejected - to the point where I've thought about ending it. I'm not sure whether this is me being selfish but I feel like it's starting to really affect how I feel about myself.
  10. my sides hurt from laughing reading this thread!!
  11. I got a bit sick days 2-5 of my preop diet and I just figured it was a bug. Now I'm starting to wonder if it was my body protesting again the changes xx
  12. Any fluids count towards your water goals - water, decaff tea/coffee, juice, milk etc. Have you tried sugar free popsicles? Xx
  13. Yes, the physical urge isn't really there but you have to meet your goals for protein and water each day. Try the baritastic app - you can set reminders for drinking water and track protein intake on it. Drinking water is the most important part so if you can't do both, focus on it. If you're unsure what your goals are, give your doctor a call. Good luck xx
  14. Like creekimp13 said, I showered the following morning. I found the heat soothing when I was working out the gas. I stuck with showering and waited for a couple of weeks to have a bath. One thing to watch out for is the steam if you're a bit lightheaded and be careful not to slip. I told the nurses I was going for one and asked them to check in with me 30 mins later just in case xx
  15. I had never been under general anaesthesia before my RNY. I didn't find it a pleasant experience but I am so pleased that I went through with it. It is worth it. xx
  16. Stay well hydrated (this has a flushing effect) and always wipe front to back (sorry to be crude).x
  17. I for one, have felt like this many times
  18. I'm in the pureed phase and I do 1oz of protein with 1oz of veggies and top up my protein using protein water/shakes. x
  19. You will be pooping out the small amounts of waste products from the food you are eating and off course metabolic by-products such as broken down components of red blood cells etc. xx
  20. I'm asthmatic and on longterm steroids too. I hope this doesn't make it harder to lose weight.
  21. Wow you guys are all doing brilliant!!! xx
  22. Im so sorry your other half is not supporting you. He should never verbally abuse you. Truth is, he's scared. He's worried he's going to lose you on the operating theater r after when you lose the weight so he figures by packing up now he'll lessen the blow later. Biggest problem is that to give him the reassurance he needs, he has to educate himself by coming to the classes. It's an impossible situation. If I were you, I'd explain that's you understand he's worried but remind him that he promised to stand by you for better or worse. Xx
  23. I guess maybe stretching or eating all the wrong things? Whatever it is, one thing is for sure - she wasn't sticking to her plan! X
  24. Super! Fandabbydozy as we say in Scotland xx
