  1. Call me crazy but....... I've decided to do Tough Mudder (Scotland) next year for charity (I thought this year was unrealistic). Now, I have a year to get fit and would really appreciate some advice as I don't know where to start. Eeeeek! I saw posts discussing footwear and staying hydrated that are really useful so that's helped already. I'm just not sure exercise-wise, what I should be doing x
  2. Wow @Karen Tucker you're doing amazing!! Not long til onederland!!! xx
  3. Congratulations @Saranimal83 xx
  4. Wednesday weigh in time I'm at 219 today. That's another 3lbs off despite being in the middle of moving house and having a chesty cold. That's 43lbs off since surgery on 12th Jan, 51lbs since pre-op assessment and 73 from my heaviest weight in August 2017. This was absolutely the best decision for me.x
  5. Maybe lemsip hot drinks, nasal decongestants and throat sprays. Feel better soon. x
  6. That's more than a lil scale movement there! Well done @JNS0711
  7. Well done!! You're looking great!! xx

  10. Yeah there's definitely a noticeable difference! Well done ☺
  11. You guys are all doing so great! Every pound off is a step closer to goal xxx
  12. Lol @FluffyChix get the bob Marley records on. I have no problem with people putting whatever they choose into their bodies. I do think, people have to educate themselves before they can make a choice. There's no point pretending there aren't associated risks. Not sure why a certain someone @Sprinkles1 seems to have an issue with that. And yip it's old cause it's long established.
  13. Jeez you didn't even read it. It's from the national health service and gives you links to research papers as well as analysing how studies are performed - strengths and weaknesses. I guess that just went over your head.
  14. Factually inaccurate I'm afraid @Sprinkles1 Putting lots of 0000s at the end of something doesn't make it more believable. As a scientist, I have to believe what the evidence suggests..... maybe you should read around the subject before you start using your 'alternative facts' based solely on myths and opinions. https://www.nhs.uk/news/cancer/smoking-cannabis-worse-than-tobacco/
  15. If you're smoking weed, it carries all the risks of smoking cigarettes with some additional risks on top. Look at this as a chance to live a healthy life. At the very least, discuss it with your surgeon.
  16. Wednesday weigh in has come around again... I'm in at 222 today. Slow n steady wins the race n all that lol ☺ xxx
  17. @gisy87 everyone feels the pre surgery jitters hun. I sure did.... but think of the journey you've been on and how far you've come. You can't give up now. X
  18. I'm 2 months out and having 1 each day as a meal replacement xx
  19. Congratulations xxx
  20. That's very promising. I hope my asthma becomes a thing of the past. I hate taking the steroid inhaler every day and carrying the bronchodilator one about with me x
  21. I don't like wasting food and unfortunately loads of people have noticed and remarked on how little I'm eating these days. Friends, colleagues, family, waiting staff... I don't think I'm saving money on food either. Healthier stuff is more expensive and when you factor in protein shakes and pricey vitamins, I'm pretty sure it costs more nowadays. I don't regret my decisions at all but public eating is just no fun for me now. I just need to find new friends who want to go to different social settings x
  22. I hate eating out now too unfortunately. I used to love it. They don't seem to have these cards in the UK. At a restaurant, I asked for a half portion and they refused. I had to attend an awards ceremony the other night - no menu options just the same for everyone. I could only manage 3 or 4 bites then was full. The waiting staff left me as the only one still with a plate at the table for ages then quizzed me when I asked them to take it away. Awkward! Then the other day was pot luck at work. I nibbled some grapes and about 1oz of cheese and my colleagues kept asking what was wrong. Think I'll just dodge these things in the future. X
