Ten years ago I had by-pass surgery. My starting weight was 562. It has been a long road, and I wanted my goal to be 180. I am 218 and now I find out my weight for 5'1" should be 143. I really think I can get that thin. HELP!!!!!

My weight will JUST NOT BUDGE. I'm annoyed. This stall sucks. Can stress alone trigger a stall? I'm 237, have been for...oh 10 days now. I'm doing everything else I need to, but am more stressed than I have been.

You will stall. I’ve had stalls for over three weeks at a time. The lower you get, the longer it will take to lose the pounds. Just keep to the program, it will come off. It’s discouraging but everyone goes through it! 🤗

I'm in a deep funk. Instead of helping others, I've turned into a wacko rambler. Off-topic, off period. It's time for me to take a break from this place.

I am sorry that you misunderstood my post. I was only trying to keep the post on topic for the original poster. Your post had nothing to do with the topic posted. Nowhere did I imply you were confused. I do feel your post would be better served in the rants and raves heading, but I’m not sure why you took this so personally as it certainly wasn’t meant as such.

6 months difference. Not great, but could be worse.
The suit in picture one is too big. I have another bathing suit
Stats:
Nov 27- 344lbs
Dec 11 (surgery) 321lbs
Today: 6 mon out: 264lbs
Concentrating now on my arms and stomach. I've lost a ton on my legs, starting to look lopsided. I never wanted to be top heavy with bird legs Lol79lbs total!
Some who have had this surgery are blowing me out of the water but.. who cares?Slow and steady wins the race!

Good morning, everyone. I know I've been gone for a bit but I am doing so much better now. It seems as if I am healing right up. The nausea is completely gone and the only time I get an upset stomach is if I eat too quickly. Alas, this is still something of a learning curve. On the upshot, I am ready to return to work and I am going back to tractor trailer driving because it's the best path to make a decent living given my skill set. On July 3rd, I will be starting for Schneider. It's been a few years since I've been behind the wheel of such a big vehicle so I chose the free training (and I don't have to sign an agreement either) offered by Schneider. The particular driving that I got hired for is all Mid-West lanes dedicated to Home Depot so there is no East Coast and no West Coast. In fact, just four states ... CO, NE, MO, and KS. The job is 3 weeks on/1 week off and they fly me between my home in Philadelphia and Kansas City. All in all not a bad deal.

Sorry I've been missing for a while! I've been swamped with work and other responsibilities. Just know I love all the supportive messages and comments <3 You guys are the best! I recently found out I was accepted to a film preservation school this fall so I've been getting ready to move to Rochester, NY!

This is going to sound really freaking weird but I feel like I am in the twilight zone ... like this is all a bad dream I am going (or hoping) to wake up from. I hate food! I mean I fscking hate it! It tastes like saw dust ... I am never hungry and never have a desire to eat. Eating hurts and no one knows really WTF is going on. I mean they think the cause of this is the stomach ulcer but what if all this stuff heals up and I am still messed up? I am down 60 pounds and almost 6" from my heaviest but I could care less. I sleep but it feels like I get none at all. When I wake up even though my stupid CPAP says, "Hey dumbass! You had less than 1 apnea an hour. GTFU!" It's supposed to be really easy to find work because unemployment is low, yet I keep getting turned down for work. At this point, I am like what next?

I had a setback yesterday. I went to the ER in severe stomach pain and nausea. It turns out that I had a stricture so the ER stabilized me and then I was transported to Wilmington Hospital, where I had the surgery to begin with. They did some emergent repairs. I am doing okay but in too much pain to get around. Anyhow, the surgeon emphasized rest and not getting up and moving. I will be discharged on Friday morning as they want to keep me for observation. Life happens but we keep moving, right-o?

Hit 90 lbs down today... so close to my first 100 lbs down!

Stall Day #7...sigh

I’m sorry to hear of your stalling. I hope you see progress soon. If you can eat more maybe try increasing intake? I’ve been pretty consistent on 700-900 calories a day. You can increase calories and not volume by just eating say full fat cheese instead of low fat cheese, that kind of thing. Idk. It works for some people. I know how disheartening it is to be stuck....we all just want to get to our goal weights!

16 weeks post bypass, and I am down to my Gastric Band typical weight - took me two or three years of faffing with the band to get here (my surgeon lived in a different city, hard for fills). This is effortless. Almost magic! Liking different foods is a joy.
I am not in am my lowest sized of stored clothes, and feeling pretty damned pleased with myself! BUT I lost almost 4 lbs last week (on holiday, scuba diving) so I know I am likely to lose a bit yet. The surgeon said I would - I didn’t believe him. So I guess it gets more expensive from here as I may need to BUY transitional trousers rather than pull them out of storage!
My goal was to get to this weight. Then it was to get to 10lbs below this. Now it is to get to “not overweight bmi”. Gawd, skeletal!!

Glad to hear everything is going so.....swimmingly

It's funny; I was really worried the past few days about how easy it's been to reach 1,000 calories, and today I was barely able to reach 850 despite having eaten some good meals and worked out. I just need to be more conscious of what food choices I make. I'm learning more about what makes me feel satiated every day! Definitely tuna and chicken, for sure. Dangerous foods for me include roasted chickpeas, cheese, and nuts... They just don't fill me up much.

July 25, 2017 I had a gastric sleeve performed. 132 pounds later and a leak in my sleeve that won't heal, my sleeve was converted into a bypass on January 31, 2018. Healing was expected to be completed within 1 - 2 weeks. Nearly four weeks later, I'm supposedly better but not completely healed as of today (Feb 25, 2018).
Many extended hospital stays, endless antibiotics to control infection and a toll on my children and marriage, I regret having done this. I know that I may have been dead within 5 to 10 years if I didn't have the surgery, but at what point does another infection do me in? Next month, next year etc?
