  1. Hey! I'm having bypass on 4/23! I've been on a liquid diet for a little more than 2 weeks now. I'm down 15lbs since starting the liquid diet. Less than 2 weeks until surgery! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I started the process in October of last year but then I had to hold off due to a change in my insurance. I have BCBS IL and they didn't require me to do a nutritionist appointments but my surgeon had me do 4. I had to see her 2x a month, so it only took me 2 months to finish the requirements. I'm currently on a month pre-op diet. Can't wait to be post-op!
  3. Oh yikes... that is terrible advice... stick to it with all you've got! I've been looking at it as a test. If I can do this, then I know I'll be successful! My preop diet is 4 weeks long... 2 weeks done, 2 more to go! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I'm excited for you!! I'm getting bypassed on the 23rd. Let me know if you have any questions! Maybe I could help you out Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Thanks!! I'll have to try ensure! Premier is good and not that expensive. I'm so sick of chocolate protein shakes! I need to get into other flavors but... i'm not an adventurous eater lol I love vitamin water zero! & propel is good! I'm looking for protein waters though. Have you tried any?? 6. Don't worry, I'm not doing the best either. I've cheated a couple of times... but ultimitately I feel like I'm doing great! I hope my liver is shrinking too. I'd be soooo sad if they couldn't perform surgery because of my liver. I've been on the pre-op diet for 2 weeks out of 4 weeks. These next 14 days I'm going to give it my all When is your surgery?
  7. Yuck... I'll probably hate premier too. The Isopure had this really strong/weird after taste... which is disappointing. It was like $5 a bottle too!
  8. Okay, so I've tried to Isopure drinks... I almost threw up! YUCK!!! I was going to make popsicles and ice cubes out of them but I can't stand the taste... On to premier clear!
  9. I'm getting 3 weeks off. I could have technically had 6 weeks off, but hate being away from work for so long. I work at a desk too... but I wanted time for myself and to get into a routine. My company has short term disability, I get 100% of my pay during those 3 weeks. Maybe look into that?
  10. Nice work!! Killin' it
  11. I'm not sure what your current diet looks like but reduce your carbs if you haven't done so already! Maybe intensify your workout routine. Walk, walk, walk! 3lbs in 6 weeks? That's a walk in the park. You got this!!!
  12. I have the same fear. I hope I'm like those people that don't experience hunger for a while after surgery. However, I plan on seeing my therapist after surgery to continue working on my binge eating disorder and I know I'll experience head hunger, so I'll probably talk about that too. Maybe that's something you could look into. Surgery is just a tool. The surgery isn't going to help with all of your eating problems. Seeking help now would be the best thing to set you up for success later!
  13. All of them are really good! I tend to stay in pre-op for most of my discussions... because that's where I'm at in my journey. However, the sleeve forms are great to look at success stories! The sleeve is probably the most popular procedure at this time. So, it's definitely a little more active.
  14. Yay! Congrats! I submitted mine to BCBS of IL and got my approval quickly. I hope you do too!
  15. Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to try both this weekend. I'm a super picky person and I don't like anything that has a weird after taste... I hope I like at least one of them! I don't want to just drink shakes all the time...
  16. Thanks! Any other flavors you like? I'm not a lemonade person... too tart lol Do they taste weird? Like protein-y? If that makes sense haha
  17. OMG!!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. That is so tough... I'd probably cry my eyes out! I mean, yes waiting additional time isn't the end of the world, but having something basically in your grasps and then taken away... it's sad. You've got this! You can always vent to me if you need to.
  19. Just a question... I'm trying to buy some protein shakes and drinks so I'm ready for after my surgery. Has anyone tried isopure zero carb and premier clear? Which do you prefer and why?
  20. The liquid diet sucks! If it makes you feel any better, I have to do it for 30 days. I have 18 days remaining. Just stay strong, because if you fall off the wagon, it's hard to get back on. TRUST ME. But, if you do fall off, get back on it and keep marching forward as best as possible. You got this!
  21. Holy cow, this scared me for a second.... I will be taking my vitamins EVERY DAY. Thank you, bariatricpal.......... glad everyone's teeth are good though! phew.
  22. Haha! I'm the same way! I'm in bed by 8:30 pm, the latest. On the weekends I try to stay up... but typically I'm in bed by 9-9:30. I'm just an early bird. I'm up by 5:30-6am every day. I once slept in until 8am and felt like I slept my whole day away.
  23. I get the same way! It's super exciting though! Let us know when they schedule you for!! Hopefully not too far out.
  24. Yeees! Saaame. I'm good at losing weight but better at gaining. I've lost 80lbs on my own before in 5 months... gained it all back plus some. I'm so excited for you! Hope you hit all your goals [emoji1] Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
