April 6, 20188 yr Just a question... I'm trying to buy some protein shakes and drinks so I'm ready for after my surgery. Has anyone tried isopure zero carb and premier clear? Which do you prefer and why?
April 6, 20188 yr I drink both. Premier clear taste too sweet so I mix it with water. It’s good when it’s watered down. Isopure is good depending on the flavors. I love the isopure zero carb lemonade flavor.

April 7, 20188 yr Thanks! Any other flavors you like? I'm not a lemonade person... too tart lol Do they taste weird? Like protein-y? If that makes sense hahaFor isopure.. Apple melon, grape & pineapple orange banana were good. The after taste taste more like a yogurty after taste. Lol at least to me. The premier clean doesn’t have that much of an after taste or taste like protein. Just sweet. Super sweet lol.
April 7, 20188 yr I've had the apple melon Isopure, and it was pretty yummy, though kind of intense and I will probably dilute it if I get it again. The green tea with lemon one was okay but not nearly as good, and had a much stronger aftertaste. The only problem with Isopure is the cost, to me. Haven't had the Premier clear.
April 7, 20188 yr Isopure had a chalky aftertaste. If there is a vitamin shoppe near you they sell individual bottles so you can try them out. They are a tempting way to get protein in but the taste was not for me.
April 7, 20188 yr Author Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to try both this weekend. I'm a super picky person and I don't like anything that has a weird after taste... I hope I like at least one of them! I don't want to just drink shakes all the time...
April 7, 20188 yr Author Okay, so I've tried to Isopure drinks... I almost threw up! YUCK!!! I was going to make popsicles and ice cubes out of them but I can't stand the taste... On to premier clear!
April 8, 20188 yr I haven't tried Isopure, but Premier Clear has a strange consistency to me. Almost slimey or oily.
April 8, 20188 yr I thought premier tasted awful!!! Plus they only have one flavor which I didn’t like to begin with. I did try protein20 and love it!

That’s good to hear! They do have an orange flavor on amazon but I doubt it’s any better. Those milky shakes are always hard for me so I’m hoping to find a better solution
April 8, 20188 yr Author Yuck... I'll probably hate premier too. The Isopure had this really strong/weird after taste... which is disappointing. It was like $5 a bottle too!
April 8, 20188 yr Think of it as getting-ready-for-surgery medicine. Hope you don't have to hold your nose while you drink. Have you tried Muscle Milk or one of the other brands? Some have made their own with skim milk and protein powders, or used almond milk. I have faith you'll find the right answer for YOU[emoji13]Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
April 8, 20188 yr Hey... If you're looking for a tasty protein shake my favorites are ensure light vanilla... They are 70 calls per bottle and not thick or chalky like shakes you have to mix yourself. I also like premier protein shakes . They come in banana vanilla strawberry chocolate and sunflower. They are about 100 calls or so per bottle and taste great and they cost about 6$ or so in Walmart. They won't make you feel gassy or bloated either. As for waters I don't like fruit favors in my water but if you do the propel waters they gave me after my surgery were ok. You can also try the muscle milk

I'm looking for protein waters though. Have you tried any??Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
April 9, 20188 yr I found the Premier Bananna & Cream to be much, much better. I detest their Vanilla flavor, it dies not suit my stomach well. Becareful with done of the Ensure drinks, some of them have high sugar content, at least for my program. You program probably allows you to have sugar free jello and pudding. Mix some chocolate pudding up with Fair Life milk (lots protein) and a couple of flavorless 30gr protein mix serving scoops. I use Genepro protein from local GNC store. Jello Pudding box says 4 servings, so it comes out to 15gr protein per serving, and with Fair Life milk, 21 grams. Regular milk totals it to 19 grams.Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
