I’m two weeks post op today and walking out the door to go to the gym! I’m feeling good! Tired but good! Anyone else back at the gym?

Also the numbers your nutritionist sent you don't even make sense
If you're supposed to have 35g of carbohydrates max, 20g of fat max. And eat 800-1000 calories a day this means you need between 115g and 165g of Protein a day to reach those numbers.
Now I'm all about the high protein thing and rarely think too much protein is a bad thing. But doesn't 165g of protein for a bariatric female losing weight sound insane? I mean it you're an Olympic weight lifter or something that's a complete different story, but it just sounds odd to me.

So I had my sleeve on 11-6.. I’ve read a lot of stories on how hard it was to drink water.. how painful the removal of the drain tube was.. I’ve had zero problems drinking Water I’ve always loved water and I can drink a glass of water with no problem just take smaller drinks.. soft foods have been a problem .. the biggest thing I wish I knew was that eve tho ur not hungry your mind is still addicted to food and I CRAVED unhealthy food and was not hungry at all.. I had to drink blue Powerade after surgery so if I had a leak it would be in my drain tube it gave me horrible heart burn and caused me to vomit a lot .. I wish I just drank purple Kool aid instead sugar free of course.. an when u get to eat again if u over eat .. it hurts ur mind says eat it up but please please go slow it’s painful if you don’t

I was sleeved 11/14- today was my first day of purées and I was so excited for some whipped potatoes. I fixed two ounces but only ate about 3 bites before I didn’t want anymore.

I hope your 2 weeks passes quickly!

I guess what I meant more was this feeling for much of my life that my body wasn't mine, and after surgery suddenly feeling like it was again. I was really surprised how much I had pushed away and tried to "disown" my own body.

Why is it that you can not drink anything 30 mins before you eat or 30 mins after? So no drink with your meal?

I'm on my 3rd week and started 2 days early on pureed foods (NUT said it was cool).

I'm actually eating really soft scrambled eggs (see Gordon Ramsey's recipe on Youtube, the one where he makes them in a pot) and some extra mashed corned beef hash. I eat slowly and chew at least 30 times.

Me too. I started crying when my husband forgot to get me something from the grocery store. I seem to feel better when I make sure to take a daily walk though.

I had my surgery dec 2014. So three years.

There are definitely foods I can eat.. I’m not scary thin anymore. My post was more just about the long term difficulty in getting food down as you continue to move away from surgery and just try and live like a normal person. You can’t ever go back to it being easy.

I eat a lot of cheese, that gets me by.

Mine was a week ago today. I wore the same clothes home as I did arriving. I took a toothbrush and toothpaste, a hairbrush, an iPad and a charger. That’s it. I never turned on the tv in my room but I watched movies on my iPad when I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t feel like I needed anything other than what I took. I was there one night.

    First ever post!
I was sleeved on 11/14. The first afternoon immediately after surgery was rough. I always wake up extremely emotional after anesthesia and spent a fair amount of time crying. I did pretty well overnight, was up walking the halls and trying to only push my pain med button if it got intolerable. I was released Wednesday evening around 6 pm. The gas pain and nausea that night were awful. By Thursday morning I was feeling much better. As of now I’m only taking Tylenol as needed and using a heating pad if I’m sitting down.
I started the 6 month program in April at 282.8. I was 265.6 when I started the pre-op diet and 255 the morning of surgery. I’m currently 245.6! Excited for puréed food and watching the scale go down!
