  1. I'm not mocking you at all. I'm impressed. I can barely manage 15 minutes on am elliptical and you are killing it. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I wish I had a nearby Planet Fitness. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. My only regret was not doing this sooner as well.@fluffychix is wise. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. That's an awkward situation but you can't let things like that bother you. Water off of a duck's back. They can't take anything away from the progress you made! Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Yeah, that would probably be way too distracting. Are you in Eastern PA or Western? I am in the Greater Philly area.
  6. I think I'll try something big when I get to goal weight. For now, it's just the simple task of work out and eat right. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. I purposely signed up online so I wouldn't have to go through the hard sell. I wouldn't trust their trainers to walk my dog. They just seem like muscle bound morons. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Hellz@fluffychix, 15 minutes on the elliptical was enough for me. Beast mode eventually but not now. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. That's a good idea! Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. My legs feel like jelly .... but it is a good feeling.
  11. Are you tracking your intake? Doing so might help you find the problem area.
  12. If I had to guess, your surgeon is not going to sweat 4 pounds. I think you'll still have the surgery. The real reason for the strict pre-op diet is to shrink your liver to make your surgery safer. So yeah, I truly believe you'll be alright.
  13. I joined LA Fitness today and I went on the elliptical machine for 15 minutes. First time in a gym in four years and it felt good just to join and go. Tomorrow, I will aim for another 15 minutes but on the bicycle to use different muscles and do something non-weight bearing. I am thinking that the gym will be kind of like AA. All I need is the desire to get activity and to just keep coming back. Simple enough, right?
  14. I haven't had a three week stall. I am sure I will get a stall, it's just a matter of when. I am sure there are a myriad of causes and reasons, but the bottom line is really no one knows for certain. My surgeon even said that there are only theories, no for certain reasons.
  15. The post-op road has not been an easy one to travel for me but what kept me going was the clear knowledge that every day I would become a little healthier. Immediately after surgery, I went from 7 medications to 1. Celebrate every win, no matter how small it may seem. Also, be patient with yourself and allow time to heal and feel better. Today is the first day that I actually feel like myself and I am 28 days post-op. I finally have the energy, desire, and drive to go join a gym and get my workout on. When times are tough, just keep looking hour to hour and day to day. Also, please don't make the mistake I did by tempting fate and trying to go back to old habits. I had a soft pretzel after only two weeks post-op and I felt miserable for days. That alone probably caused some significant setbacks and is why it took me almost 30 days to feel strong. In my previous life, food was joy, happiness, sadness, and pleasure. I reached for the soft pretzel precisely because I was feeling sad and bereft. Not only did it taste like saw dust and feel very bad in my stomach, but I felt absolutely no satisfaction in eating it, whereas previously it would have been an instant pick me up. Post-surgery will be an immense change. If you are an emotional eater, my guess is after this surgery, eating won't produce the same result as it used to.
  16. That's cool that it went away but you still want to go see a doctor. Also, you will probably want to avoid having foods that could cause dumping - I know I sure do. I haven't experienced dumping just yet. On the one time I did stray away from the path by eating a soft pretzel, it didn't cause me to dump and my surgeon said that dumping typically happens with raw sugary carbs, not the more complex type. But I felt like absolute sh1t in other ways so I just don't tempt fate anymore.
  17. I think I understand as eating is just part of the daily routine now. I can't say that I enjoy it like I used to which is ultimately a good thing because the pre-surgery me was living to eat. Living to eat is more miserable than the feeling of it being neutral.
  18. It isn't a question of courage. The past two times when I have started a weight loss journey, I always took before photos. I made a conscious decision not to do it this time. I want to leave the morbidly obese person I was behind me and never to be looked at again. I don't want reminders of the pain and misery of obesity. I just want to focus on the journey. I will always know how I looked as the " fat guy." I don't need other people's validation to know that I am succeeding.
  19. Good on you for correcting the course of action. I think it is entirely possible to get to where you want to be. At least we have to believe this or we never would've gotten this surgery.
  20. Wax doesn't process very well in the human digestive system.
  21. I just sent an email to my PCP asking for a PT referral. That idea is/was a stroke of genius. I might as well do this in the healthiest and best possible way.
  22. That is a solid idea! I'll reach out to my PCP for a referral for PT.
  23. That's awesome! Congratulations on the weight loss! Are you at your goal or getting close to it?
  24. Wow, @FluffyChix ! Your goal is really in sight. I am celebrating the small stuff, otherwise I would be in despair about how far I have to go. If I did not look at the little things, 133 pounds remaining would look impossibly far away. LOL!
  25. See if you can talk to the registered dietitian from your program about where you're at. Show him or her your data and they can make recommendations. Your RD might even suggest it is time to eat more calories. Don't you wish weight loss is as simple as calories in being less than calories out?
