It is normal and expected to have some increased capacity around 6 months, but it’s like going from 3 or 4 oz of Protein to 5 or 6, so still very restricted. I actually have noticed this increase in the last few weeks (4 months out) and can now eat around 4.5 oz of protein VS 3.5 a month ago.
Of course you can eat a lot of slider foods or other things that will push through (softer foods). This is where focusing on good habits come in handy. I’m personally struggling with this as I re-introduce carbs.

Yeah, I wouldn't sweat it. Over the weekend I was panicking because I'd eaten 3 chicken tenders from Wendy's and didn't get sick. No burger, no fries, no Frosty, just the 3 chicken tenders with no sauce.

I think it all depends on what you eat. I can seriously BINGE on some cantaloupe. I'm not even joking, and I know this because I've done it... post op binging, by accident of course. I was sitting in front of the TV, and I looked down to see that I had eaten probably 3 cups, 3 full cups of cut up cantaloupe. I can't barely manage a 4 oz salmon filet with 2 tbsp. of cottage cheese on the side.

I notice less restriction, but still far more restriction than there was prior to surgery, but I'm not too worried. Yesterday I managed 5 sauceless boneless wings when I could barely manage 3 a few weeks ago. But before the surgery, I could take down 20 smothered in BBQ Sauce along with 4 soft breadsticks. It's all relative.

I'm about 6 months post op and have noticed that for the past week, I feel like I have had less restriction when I eat. Has anybody else gone through this? I started replacing 2 meals with Protein Shakes today because I'm scared that maybe my stomach has stretched? Help!

I’m a little over 3 months out and I didn’t have a problem with pulled pork. I ate just the pulled pork, not the bun.

...why? It sure as hell sounds like he's deliberately doing everything he can to annoy you.
People who eat pizza in front of you, don't take the baby off your hands after surgery and try to commandeer the TV when you're recovering are doing it on purpose. People who yell at you and call you stupid are not worth wasting your time on. For whatever reason, he's annoyed and making himself feel better by making you upset. That's not healthy, and it's his problem, not yours.
Just think, would you hear a friend's on a diet and then when you come over bring a hoagie and say "Well, you wanted to see me but I need to eat, remember you can't have this"? No. Because it's mean-spirited and inconsiderate. You would eat it in the car, or you'd wait until later to buy it, but you wouldn't make a production out of it unless you were actively looking to torment the dieter. It's just awful.
Let him eat junk food. When he arrives with it, head into your room and watch stuff on your phone or computer. But this sounds like a good time to really look at his behavior and realize that the people closest to you are not supposed to act like this.

    He sounds like a jerk.
That said....if he wants to eat crap, he can. You can't make him cook if he doesn't want to. His body. Let him kill himself with garbage. No skin off your nose...so don't worry about it.
No, it's not very supportive to eat crap in front of you....but it doesn't sound like he worries much about how you feel.
By the way...if you're 4 days post op and have a headache, a cough and chest pain...why in the hell isn't he taking you to urgent care immediately?
Because he doesn't care. That's why. Learn from this. Lose weight and find someone who actually cares about you.
Life is too short to play martyr.

Haha exactly! The results are amazing, sometimes I do miss being able to eat regularly but that feeling is nothing compared to how I feel when I look in the mirror!

Thank you I’m sure you look amazing as well

No worries! Don’t rush. Everyone’s sleeve is different just go with your own pace. I didn’t eat many things until I reached my 12 months cause I get sick easily but my results are amazing. The people saying they eat everything so early are the ones with much different results and I see them complaining on other threads. So it’s ok! I still always choose chicken over pork stomach wise

I had my sleeve done in October and I still can't eat it I get extremely nauseous. I guess it just depends on the person. Or maybe I just need to eat it prepared in a different way

In my neck of the woods, we eat BBQ pulled pork. Is this how you eat it? The reason I ask is I realized early on that BBQ Sauce has A LOT of sugar in it. This can cause dumping and discomfort. I did find that there is an EXCELLENT sugar free BBQ sauce option, its called G Hughes. I buy it from Walmart .

You're absolutely right. We can't use food to make us feel better anymore and actually have to feel things now. It's not fun but we can get through. I'm having to learn that not all negative feelings are bad. It's ok to have them.

I never had mood swings. Or depression. Any I did have was due to other circumstances beyond the sleeve -

I did have issues with getting the Protein in. What I figured out was to have two to three, 35 ounce bottles of Water, and add my protein to that. It helped a lot.

For some that’s normal, the mood swings. The hormones after surgery fluctuate and change. For some people who are sensitive to that it’s awful.

The protein helps with the moods and energy. I started feeling 100% about 3 months out, really. But like JennyPenny said, with all the weight coming off, it’s hard to be sad. (In my experience!)

I had my sleeve done in October and honestly, I still get mood swings. I'm thinking that it is because I used food to make me feel better, and now I actually have to deal with it lol! But things will definitely get better. I was very down throughout my hospital stay and didn't really feel better until 2-3 weeks after I got home. Seeing weight loss results will definitely help you feel better!

My mood is like nothing. I have no interest in ANYTHING I used to like to do. I am 12 days post op. My taste buds are super weird and I am concerned this will be the new me.
Please tell me I will get taste buds and mood back.
I have serious acid reflux and can't handle anything dairy either. Help

if you have purged yourself of sugar since october then i am sure you will have a strong reaction, especially with something as sugar and carb laden as ice cream.

It was about an hour or two after dinner... I knew it had something to do with my new stomach but wasn't sure if anyone else was experiencing this. I've had ice cream before and I've been fine, I guess it's kind of a hit or miss thing. I sometimes get this feeling with certain Protein shakes... I'll just keep having to experiment and figure it all out I sometimes forget how sensitive our new stomachs can be

Hang in there, i used the Soup straining method also and it worked well to get me thru the liquid stage. The cans of broth just sucked but the richer flavors from the strained soup made a big difference to me.
I am pretty sure i will never eat Jello again for the rest of my life (LOL)
    good luck and stay strong

I was stuck for a shorter period of time and started taking Probiotics and magically my weight started dropping pretty consistently. This was a suggested by my PCP.

Im at the point now where i can eat just about anything i want. But i just dont eat a lot of it. I tend to stick with Protein first, and then veg. But if i want a cheat day there is nothing stopping me from a small burger or chicken tenders or something. I just order the smallest size they have.
