  1. So far.. my fave is 3 turkey Italian meatballs w/ broccoli and some tomato cream sauce!!! YUM!!! I usually have it w/ pasta.. Sleevina doesn't like pasta too well.. I'll let you know how my chopped lamb w/ chipole fresca cheese melt goes tomorrow...
  2. So, I'm almost a month out.. (Tomorrow will be 4 weeks!!).. And I've finally transitioned to regular foods... with a few exceptions.. but I'm SOOOOO glad to have something that is MEAT!!! Right now, I'm having dinner and I have 4 small turkey meatballs (Perdue brand) w/ a few broccoli florets and a tsp of tomato cream sauce and I feel like I'm in heaven!!! I may not finish it all (seems like such a SMALL amount compared to the big bowl I would have!!), but the burst of flavor and spices... Yum, YUm, YUM!! Just wanted to share my excitement... What are you having for dinner???
  3. Add me to the list!! I think once the pain meds were out of my system, my sleep pattern was thrown completely off!!! I'm up until 2/4am and sleep for 4 or 5 hours restlessly and then I'm up again.. I was taking naps, but in the last few days... no naps... UGH!! I want some relief or a good book!!!
  4. Thanks guys.. I really appreciate the encouragement and support... I am just a mess today.. but, morning is coming!! I'm sure tomorrow (well, later today) I will feel a lot better!! Heck, my once tight jeans are literally falling off!!! Taking deep breaths and dealing w/ this fear of failure that's trying to rear it's ugly, fat head!!!
  5. Congrats!!!! So happy for you!
  6. Congrats and welcome to the other side!! Stay positive and you will do great...
  7. Yecats, not premature at all.. I'm trying to visit my sister in FL and Longer-life and I are gonna coordinate a meet-up... I'll give you details when plans are solid!
  8. Lissa, you're awesome!!! Thanks so much!
  9. Thanks Hon!!! I hope I can too...
  10. So, I'm pretty... bombed out right now... I lost 2 pounds since my last visit.. TWO!!! My doc thinks I'm not eating enough and my BP was kind of high, so she's says I'm retaining a lot of Water.. Back to the BP meds.. .. REALLY??!!! Okay... I can buy that... my metabolism has been screwed up for the longest, so I guess I thought Sleevina would immediately remedy that... but no.. okay, okay.. I know.. when you progress to other foods, weight loss can slow down and my body is adjusting and all that... *Deep Breath*.... I know it will be fine... I just feel so emotional and scared that I will be one of the people that VSG doesn't work for... (Yes, I'm usually very positive.. but I'm just having a moment, PLEASE EXCUSE ME!!).. On a positive note, I've had difficulty walking for long periods of time due to a serious back injury, that also caused severe nerve damage on my left side... WELL, today, I walked around Sam's for almost an hour w/ my friend... and she was like.. OMG, you're not limping as much (my dorsiflexion in my left foot has improved dramatically) and your breathing is normal.. WOW!! I'm very excited about that... Love and hugs.. (please say a prayer for me... I'm struggling a little.. THANKS!!) Tina
  11. Actually, what is referred as starvation mode is actually a slow down in metabolism... And if you have a metabolic disorder this can be HORRIBLE!!! Before I was sleeved, my doc and nutritionist were helping me developed a plan to eat on a regular basis and to coordinate my foods properly so that I could lose weight pre-op... My metabolism is screwed up!!!
  12. Lissa, I"m so sorry for your loss.. I'll definitely be praying for you and your friend's loved ones...
  13. So, my best sisterfriend and I decided to head to the beauty shop on Saturday afternoon (bad idea!!)... to Celebrate the great weather in Chicago and I desperately needed a TRIM!!! I had several NSVs in the salon.. They included... I sat in the dryer chair (for 2 hours!!) comfortably.. with it digging into my thighs and me having to strategically wedge myself in it! The shampoo cape actually closed around my just fat neck and didn't pop open 2 million times like w/ my previously REALLY fat neck!! My just fat neck actually fit into the shampoo bowl divot w/ ease.. where my previously VERY fat neck wouldn't and I would end up w/ a very wet back!! No Water on my back this time!! My shirt and jacket don't fit any more!! YEAH!!!! I love it!! I'm actually okay w/ my prematurely grey hair.. cause my head is getting smaller!!! (See pic)
  14. My incision near my belly button is still oozing some. but it's not red or hot.. I called my surgeon the day of my first post op when it started oozing water like stuff... I have my 2nd post-op Thursday... so, we'll see what they say...
  15. 7 days pre-op diet.. lost 10/12 pounds
  16. I promise.. each day gets better!!! Stay hydrated and walk... Congrats and good thoughts toward you!!!
  17. Kimmie, we're sleeve sisters!!!! YEAH!!! Congrats on your weight loss..
