Real Food.. Finally!

So, I'm almost a month out.. (Tomorrow will be 4 weeks!!).. And I've finally transitioned to regular foods... with a few exceptions.. but I'm SOOOOO glad to have something that is MEAT!!! Right now, I'm having dinner and I have 4 small turkey meatballs (Perdue brand) w/ a few broccoli florets and a tsp of tomato cream sauce and I feel like I'm in heaven!!! I may not finish it all (seems like such a SMALL amount compared to the big bowl I would have!!), but the burst of flavor and spices... Yum, YUm, YUM!!

Just wanted to share my excitement... What are you having for dinner???

I have been positevely dying for fruit and veggies! I thought I wasn't supposed to start on these items until 3 months out- well today I re-read all my handouts and realized I could have started on these items 2 weeks ago! So- I'll be honest- fruits and veggies are on my menu for dinner tonight and I'll make up the protein in the form of liquid with some Nectar protein powder. If you haven't tried it there is a sample bag of all the flavors you can get at mybariatricpantry.com. They are such a refreshing change for the other powders.

Hi my surgery twin!! I had an amazing dinner of 6 boiled shrimp with a tiny bit of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt to make shrimp salad, and half of a sandwich thin toasted! So happy for real food!!

I had meatloaf and steamed sweet carrots from Cracker Barrel.

Favoredone did you make the tomato cream sauce? If not, please tell me where to buy it. :-)

You are surrounded by chefs! Lucky you! :-)

I get to try to eat an egg today. Other than that, still on liquids/pureed foods for two more weeks. Congratulations on real food!

My surgery was only one day later than yours, so many different regimens out there!
