  1. hmm well I know that they come to Bellingham once or twice a month and do fills here (I live in Bellingham) so I'm hoping that it won't be too bad to get into see them when they come to B'ham.
  2. So I went on a bike ride with my dad today and man....I did not realize how out of shape I am! I remember being a kid and it was so easy to ride a bike...and today I was being outstriped by 8 year olds! It was really depressing actually. I havn't been on a bike in about 6 years, and I kept having to stop. And the seat hurt my butt.
  3. you could take them to a womens consignment store and either use the credit to get clothes from there in your NEW  size, or you can take the cash from them. I plan to do that while I'm losing, just keep swaping out the clothes that become too big for me for smaller ones with my credit, and then when I'm at goal, I'll go shopping at my fav stores!
  4. yay! go nothwest! representing belllingham here! lol

  7. hey guys! I'm going to be banded some time in May (I hope!) I have my final consults on the 28th, and they said that usualy they have people come in for surgery 2 weeks after that! So I'm pretty sure I will be joining up with the "May Flowers." I'll be going to the Northwest Weight Loss Surgery center in Evrett WA. Anyone else being banded there in May? Marine

  9. I know that there was a post about this before...I remember seeing the title; but I can't find it. So, my question is, what is the difference between the lap band and the realize band? And how did people choose which one to get? I'ed love to hear what everyone thinks. Thanks!

  11. yea I'm trying to get out of the last supper stage too! The coffee drinks are killing me as well! its like a feeding freenze to eat all the stuff that I'm going to miss right now, really fast! I need to stop! I can't wait for my band tho! so its all going to be worth it.
  12. So I have been on the boards a lot lately reading what everyone has to say. I always knew that the lap band was a tool, and that it was NOT a cure all. But for some reason today it just clicked and I realized in truth that for as least the next year I will be on a pretty restrictive diet. Not to mention exercise. I realized that I have to look at it that way or I will never really be able to make the commitment. The lap band will help me eat less, and keep the weight off once lost, but it really sunk in today that it is up to me to do the work and not cheat and that I will be on pretty restrictive eating until I am at goal. I am totally fine with this because I need and want to get healthy and fit...but I think that once I had this "ah ha" moment, I wasn't truly aware of what I'm getting myself into. And the wonderful part is that this doesn't scare me and I am ready to get my booty in shape and make the commitment! =) :huh2:
  13. Hey all, I'm from Bellingham Washington (near-ish seattle). dogluvr: I will be banded at NWWLS as well, will you be attending the meetings?
  14. I was wondering the same thing as BabyNicole: can you talk Alli when you are banded?
  15. I haven't really told very many people yet that I am going to be banded, mainly because I'm not sure how they will react. I had my first negative reaction the other day from my best friends bf. He really hurt my feelings and then started drilling me on weather I have done research, and saying that I don't need surgery and I must not be trying hard enough and then offered to train me at the gum. It took a while before I finally was able to explain to him that I have tried everything and this is my last option, I have done lots of research etc. It was very emotionally draining...I guess I am just wondering how other people handled the negative comments and how you decided if/when you wanted to tell others that you are banded. I know this is a pretty subjective thing to ask, but I would love to hear from everyone on this to get both sides of the picture.
  16. Hey, Have had a few people tell me they had a good expearence at NWWLS, I'm planning to get banded there in a month or so, was wondering if anyone would mind shareing their expearence with Dr. Montgomery or any others and tell me how the after care was etc? Also, how was the pre/post opt diet etc. Any info would be wonderful! ~Marine
  17. MollyMolly: yes I wil deff. attented the support groups! I hear they help alot. I'm glad to know you had a good expearence at NWWLS, they seem like a great group and eveyone I have talked to from there have had lots of good information. Thanks!
  18. Hey all, I'm a 22 year old female from Washington state just starting off on this wonderful and scary adventure. I have gone to my seminar and have all three of my surgeons consult, nurse consult and psych consult coming up here very soon. I will be seeing Dr. Montgomery at the Northwest Weight Loss Surgery. I have gotten the opportunity to chat with him for a while, and he really seems to know his stuff. Has anyone else gone here, and could they share their experience with me? Although I'm fairly young, I have already begun to experience some health related weight problems that have begun to scare me. The most common regret I have heard from talking with other patents that have gotten the surgery is that they regret that they did not do it sooner. It took me a while to gain the support of my parents (although I don't live with them I still would like to have their support in this) and my dad has really come around and believes that this is the best thing for me. He came with me to the seminar as well. Any tips and thoughts from anyone would be welcome! I am supposed to get my surgery by the end of April or beginning of May. Thanks!
