Thank you for your perspective . This is very true and I hope to meet new people in my lifestyle. I’m going to start attending meetings this week, see how it goes..

Hopefully they are just giving you space in which to recover.
But, if it doesn't turn out to be the case, I feel certain you'll make some new friends with whom your new lifestyle will better mesh.
You may find exercise buds, or friends at a bariatric support group. Maybe you'll take up a new hobby..
No matter what, this is your time to work on YOU.

I’m sure I’m not alone in this as I’ve watched so many YouTube videos of people this happens to. Sadly after surgery , people in my life seemed to disappear. Maybe it’s all in my head and they are just busy? I realize that food is a huge part of life and most social events, but my friends have seemed to ignore me after surgery. Not in the beginning but I haven’t seen any of them 1 month post op.. it seems like everyone wants that “ token fat friend” in their life to make them feel better... I’ve lost about 40lbs, but I’m still the same down to earth girl. Yes, I can’t eat much, but damn... where did everyone go? Hoping it’s all in my head.. I’m never insecure or paranoid.. and if they wanna leave- their loss. I realize nobody secretly wants their friend thinner and more beautiful than them.. oh well. I’m not like that.

I feel horrible too and I am 4 days out. I don’t know why I felt I would be fine by now but I did. sleeping is tough sitting up is tough going to the bathroom is tough. I get scared every now and again that something went wrong and I’m not healing right. It’s a very scary thing that’s for sure and if anyone says we took the easy way out they are crazy.

Hi there! My surgery went great! I’m down 26lbs my third week post op. I still do feel sick at times and am learning how to eat and drink slowly. I can’t keep too much down though. My NSV would be ; no more back pain, and I can’t leave out that my feet don’t hurt anymore! I had the worst throbbing foot pain in both my feet and now I can walk and run errands without being miserable.
Congrats on your toe nail victory. I hadn’t tried! I just leaned over and saw that Wow I can! However it does hurt my tummy to do much since my incisions are still healing.

I now hate french fries. I loved them in the past. I also hate eggs now. I can do egg whites but not the yolk. When the yolk touches my tongue I immediately get nauseas. I never was a big sweet eater. I would eat cake if it was around. Now I have no desire to eat it. Even when my hubby brings home cup cakes I don't eat it. Premier shakes now taste horrible. My stomach can not tolerate nuts. They cause me physical pain. I no longer eat pizza or bread. I just have no interest in it. Right now nothing tastes good. I pretty much live off of cheese and chicken.< br>

I no longer desire sweet things, which I suppose is good! I'm almost 6 weeks past my surgery, so who knows if this taste preference will come back eventually. I also have always loved spice in my food but am avoiding it religiously now. Even too much black pepper is noticeable. I think my tastes are becoming tied to how well my new gastric sleeve tolerates it. If my stomach isn't happy, I begin to associate a distaste with whatever food is causing that. Unfortunately, at this point in the process, a LOT of foods are causing distress. I'm trying to be calm and hope it all settles down and eventually I can sample more foods with less worry about that.

My taste buds have changed too. Everything tastes bland, like all the flavour has gone. Hope it comes back eventually.

The handful of people who were being incessantly abusive decided they would take sage advice and cease their bullying behavior before they were banned. When faced with the inability to bully others, they likely had little else to say here. Thus, the silence.

As of October 12, 2017, I am 4 months post op and have lost 100 pounds. I have reached my goal weight and could not be more ecstatic!

Ok, figured out you're only 6ish weeks postop. The sugar in the fruit might cause dumping this early in the game.
sugar free freezer pops might be good....

Has anybody been dealing with extreme nausea! I am 3 weeks out and I can’t put anything on my stomach without feeling extremely sick to my stomach. I have not actually vomited, but seriously can’t deal with this anymore

I wanted to do the same. But I’m far too lazy. I’ll just snap photos of myself with each large milestone or something. I’m down 20lbs in less than 2 wks post op, but at 230 it doesn’t show enough to take the photo. Just my face looks super small.

The first year after surgery is important. Those who don’t reach goal might be because they start eating all kinds of things. my surgeon told me I’d reach goal in far less than a year and without issue. Especially since I’ve been that small before. I’m even on the “ smaller” side for a bariatric patient. He said due to all my health problems , my fat is hormonal , so once I’m balanced, I’ll easily lose the weight. Time will tell! I’m not one to really worry ahead nor believe one size fits all. But I can’t speak for people who are over 300lbs .. I’m sure I’ll have to work hard once I reach 150-160... I know the drill.

You’re so welcome! You probably didn’t misread it. The charts I think do show 70%, but you know what? I never think anything anyone says is 100% true to MY body. We ultimately can change those charts! So let’s keep our heads up and beat the numbers. By the way, if I only lose 70%, then I’m still fat too. No thanks, I can do better!

I think if you work out , you’ll lose all your weight. Perhaps after you lose the 70%, you’ll just have to work a bit harder for the rest to come off.. have faith and don’t stress about the future that we can’t predict. I can’t give a true “ average” weight loss for me as I know it’s not realistic. Since I’ve lost 21lbs in 2 wks...
