If you don't feel that you can tell your friend directly then try a different approach. When you go to the food store just say hey you go in I'll just wait here and drink my Water I don't really need anything. If she's coming to your house ask her to bring something you can eat like something sugar free. I find if you drop enough hints most people get the message. Try to make outings not about food so something that doesn't involve lunch or dinner. You do what's best for you and it will all work out!

I am 10 weeks out and lost 96lbs. The only rule I break is that I tend to eat too fast and because of that I sometimes eat too much before I realize I'm full then it hurts! I still sometimes have sips of Water during or after a meal if it's a bit dry or spicy. I take the Vitamins and have Vit B injections because I had a deficiency anyway. I try to drink the 2 litres of water. I drink coffee. I had my first one in the hospital! I try to limit it to 1-2 cups at home or 3-4 at work of which I usually leave at least half lol I sometimes get lazy on cooking veges. Carbs are part of my plan but other than crispbread that I have salmon on and brown rice I don't care if I never have them. bread and Pasta don't interest me. I haven't had any sweets at all. I don't really want to eat even sugar free sweets, I would prefer to just not have them in my diet for as long as I can. I haven't done too badly on rules I guess!

That's awesome Rach84. I use BN Multi and BN Cal+D both WLS vitamins both chewable. Also Vit B injections because I had a B and D deficiency way before the surgery. From what I was told at the time Vit B deficiency is particularly bad and Vit D helps to absorb the Calcium. Good luck with your journey and great job taking on board the information that was given out. A lot of people get stubborn in these instances and think they know better. I'm learning something new everyday! I had the bypass 10 weeks ago roughly. I've lost 96lbs

I take an antidepressant and I haven't noticed any changes. At one point we increased it but just for a week or two. The other meds. Diabetes medication I had to stop the day before surgery and never went back on it. High blood pressure meds have been reduced twice due to weight-loss so they must have still been working. I take slow release pain meds and I'm not sure that they are doing the job so I'm going to look at that next time I see the Dr. I take all of mine with Water before I eat anything seems to work except when I had antibiotics they had to be with food.

I'm am four months out and diagnosed with an ulcer and a swollen bile duct. I don't have a gallbladder anymore but they said a stone or slush could be in the duct and that's a tricky one to get to do that's a wait and see. I also had kidney stones week seven and had three surgeries for that. But on the bright side I've lost over 110lbs in four months

I sometimes eat meat on its own. I buy these Protein Bites that are soft little pieces of chicken in a 70gm snack pack. I don't have anything with them. I drink Protein Water instead of plain. I figured if I have to drink that much water may as well make use of it. There are lots of smooth Proteins. Some of the Protein Shake tubs are for bulking as well. You might be better with one of those to keep a bit of weight on. I'm no expert and don't pretend to be I'm only 12 weeks post RNY. In the last three months I've had six procedures. The last one was kidney stones requiring 3 surgeries. The surgeries and pain meds put the bowel to sleep so that required bombing with extra laxatives and a fleet enema then ongoing double dose of movicol daily. There are a lot of struggles people don't tell you about. I agree it's not all rosy! But back to the protein I would definitely go liquid and soft and maybe have a scan to make sure there's no stricture

I had no choice because of previous abdominal surgeries and adhesions so I had the RNY bypass four months ago. I have a lot if friends who have had the sleeve and ate happy. I don't personally know anyone who has had the bypass which was why I joined the group. The only one that seems to be a huge issue now is the band. Some with the sleeve choose to revise and have the bypass down the track for various reasons. I'm kind of glad I had the bypass because as the surgeon said I don't need to be doing it again. I had a hiatus hernia that was found and fixed during surgery which was good. Go with what you and your surgeon think is best.

My Bp is under control now, I really think the hospital stay and the gas build up was causing my elevated bp because once I started passing it and they released me, my bp was back to normal range and hasnt gone up. Also my blood sugar is under control so I’m excited that I’m seeing the changes already.

Congratulations! I think it’s great to set goals because it gives us something to work towards & it feels so great to achieve those goals.

I’m almost 10 months post-op. My original goal for a healthy BMI was 140. Now I’m 10 lbs below that & have 10 more left to lose. I haven’t exactly celebrated yet but I dream of one day going to the beach and not be ashamed to wear a bikini/swimsuit. I’m hoping to reach my new goal by New Year’s Day.

    Height: 5'0"
Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.
    Surgery date: 2/13/17
Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).
Current weight: 130 lbs, 10 lbs away from new goal.
My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

Please don't assume there is nothing in your system to get out. Those were my same thoughts and I ended up in the ER at 1.5 weeks pre-op. The worst experience I have ever had.

People who do that annoy me so much. If they think having half their stomach removed or intestines rearranged is the easy way out they should try it! It takes a lot if courage and determination to do this and do it well. I wish you all the best on your journey. Only tell who you want to tell it's your body.

I had mine around the same time and I have had two stalls lasting a week or more. Most people suggest increasing Protein and lowering carbs. Protein first. I just stuck to my program and trusted the process. I had further surgeries and that caused small stops due to Fluid Constipation etc the last surgery was last week. Just starting to move again. I've lost about 100lbs since Aug which I'm happy with. I wasn't quite so happy about constipation and kidney stones lol

Thank you for your lovely words! I am feeling so much better now that the surgeries are over. I have been really excited about the weight-loss. The last time I was this weight I was 19. Good luck on your journey. I'll watch your progress too we can encourage each other. Take care Jennifer and thanks again [emoji179]

I came out of hospital 12lbs heavier than when I went it! Once my body shifted all the Fluid it started shedding weight. Had a stall at about 3 weeks then week 7 I was rushed to hospital with sepsis and kidney stones. Over the next 4 weeks I had 3 kidney surgeries with pain killers. That meant very little weight-loss lots of fluid and terrible Constipation eventually requiring a full enema. Now that's all sorted I've started losing again. RNY Aug 10th 17. Pre-surgery I was 367lbs I don't have the weekly breakdown. CW 257lbs so a loss of 110lbs in 15 weeks. Even with the bumps in the road I'm really happy.

I went while in the hospital then when I came home. Nothing for 7 days. I didn't feel like there was anything their either but then all of a sudden my actual stomach hurt and I felt nauseous. I went to the surgeon and he ordered a CT just in case and I was blocked up but it was further in and just wasn't able to move. i had a full enema to move it. Since then I've had to take Movicol and Actilax softener to make sure it keeps going. At this stage you could take a stool softener and see if it comes through. If you are eating it will be there. They told me prune juice and benefibre too
