  2. Hey everyone! So I had my surgery on 9/3. I am allowed to have purées on Friday (today is Tuesday) I’m so ready. I’m tired of just drinking. Is this Normal? I feel like I shouldn’t want to eat yet maybe? I don’t know if I necessarily feel hungry yet but I do feel like my stomach starts to feel empty and I want something. Fluids are filling me up fine just ready for next stage. Did anyone else feel like they were ready? I feel like there is something wrong with me! second how will I know if I’m full? On liquids it’s like after a few sips I feel like it’s enough maybe. Like my mind telling me it’s enough but maybe my stomach also not feeling empty. This is so confusing. Help please and thanks .
  3. Hello everyone, I had my surgery on 9/3 so I’m about 3 days out. Did anyone experience stomach spasms. It’s like every hour or so I’ll get a sharp spasm then it goes away.
  4. Thanks everyone for all of the help! It was a little rough but I survived!! When I woke up I was sooo nauseated. I threw up about 3-4 time between waking up and that next morning. After that a lot of soreness when trying to walk and back pain which I guess was gas. Dr kept me an extra night bc he wanted to make sure I was getting enough fluids in. I’m home now and doing okay. Thanks for all the support!

    Preop diet feeling sick

Thank y’all so much. I’m so happy to hear it gets better. I was getting a little worried if I was making the right decision.
  7. Started preop diet. I’m on day three of liquids. I only have to do liquids for 5 days. Doesn’t sound horrible, I know.. but I feel so tired, I’m having horrible headaches, I’m so hungry. I’m really praying this isn’t what I’m going to feel like after surgery. I’m used to drinking caffeine daily so I’ve had to cut that out, so I’m sure that’s the main reason, along with cutting all carbs. Please tell me it’s better after surgery bc I feel horrible. HELP.

    Anyone for September 2020?

Mine is 9/03. So my Oreos diet is just low carb then two days before liquids only. I’m reading on here people have to do a week to two of straight liquids. I’m a little concerned?
  9. Hey Everyone, My surgery is next week and I want to make sure I have everything together. Has anyone tried Genepro? Can I start Genepro week 1 after surgery in my clear liquids? Has anyone tried Genepro in just plain water? What are some clear & regular liquids that have been your favorite? I'm not crazy about Powerade Zero but I guess I can try it again. If I cant stomach it before surgery I cant imagine I will be able to after. I need some of your favorite clear liquids such as powered zero, crystal light, Mio, Etc. I also could use some ideas for the full liquids. I know which protein drinks I like but I'm lost when it comes to the best soups, fruit juices, and veg juices. Thanks for your help! PS I don't cook much so grab and go is best but will make from scratch if I need.
  10. Hey everyone, So I have surgery set for 9/03/2020. I was looking through the packets that my dr and nutritionist sent me home with to make sure I get everything prior. I have already ordered vitamins and I was told not to buy to much before because you don’t know what you will stomach well after. Well after looking at the packets I see where they have a protein goal but not really like a diet plan for me to follow each week. I was hoping for like a breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner type of food plan for the first couple weeks after surgery breakdown of what to eat. They did give me like a list of 4 things I can have each week but I was hoping for something a little more detailed. Did anyone maybe receive this from thier dr and they could maybe email me a pic of it or post the pic on here? My email is Bordelonh44@yahoo.com. Any help is appreciated!!
  11. I know we aren't supposed to drink sugary or caffeinated drinks after surgery but has anyone tried drinking something like a Bang? No sugar or anything but it does have a lot of caffeine… I'm used to drinking them everyday and I was wondering everyone's experience after surgery? If so how soon after? Or is it a complete NO forever :(
