Did anyone watch Oprah on Monday?
i did not see it. sorry i missed it too. i love shows like that. i have been watching a lot of the food shows on fit tv and have really been making big changes with the family's diet. and the kids and DH seem to be enjoying it and benefitting from it. I have gotten rid of most of the premade foods, and have been buying lots of fresh meats, veggies and fruits. we ever try to get fresh spices. The Cereal we buy we get from the bulk foods section, and it is fresh oats, apples, and nuts. dinner and lunch are all natural and fresh as well, and we rarely eat anything that has preservatives in it anymore. and it is interesting how we feel from it all. dh says he is not so tired. the kids are sleeping through the night again, and my skin has cleared up a lot! dh's breath even smells better! LOL

any thoughts?
I completely agree with you!! I went into this knowing that I had to fix me, and my willpower, not jsut my tummy. But we have people around us that have had all different forms of weight loss surgery, and only 3 of them have reached goal and are sticking there. the rest either lost and regained, or never lost much to begin with. Then they complain that they went through all that pain and suffering for nothing. family who sees that do not see that they are not following orders, and then try to discourage me from having the surgery. I chose the band over GB or DS because I wanted to do it with a little help. Not just have something do it for me. I have seen that there are many DS and GB patients that are starting to gain back because they never relearn. I want the control to be in my hands. And I want to make it work for myself.

you have me blushing again. lol thank you. and telly. nicole kidman i am not. but i used to look like her when i was skinny (a bit too skinny), so hopefully i will get back to that in a healthy way. i love her. now she is a knock out! met her in person when her and tom lived in North Carolina. They lived next door to a guy who was a close family friend, and she was nothing but the nicest person. i used to like tom...till i met him. lol

Annie Wilson's lapband what happened?
its sad that with all the weight loss they still have her hiding behind nancy. i was really hoping that she would come out of her sheel from the surgery and really be proud of herself. its not like they need to try and make a name for themselves. they are setup as it is.

I just had the best salad
that sounds good! I am really finding out good it is to add nuts to salads. it really adds a nice crunch, and lots of flavor, and in some case Protein.

I just had the best salad
for those of you who might not have noticed, i have found a new love in salads. All sorts. and they are so filling with very little calories and such. share with me your favorite salad (including fruit) recipes. I really am looking for all sorts. I will catalogue them all. and you can bet i will try just about every one of them!! here is another salad that my kids just love!! 4 or 5 roma tomatoes, sliced 2 ounces of wet mozzarella cut into chunks 3 or 4 spoonfulls of olive oil 1 tablespoon basil fresh ground pepper You can add this to a green salad as well, but i prefer just the tomatoes and cheese. you can also add roasted garlic to it to really punch up the flavor. and sometimes my DH will saute the tomatoes breifly in the oil and garlic, then pour the whole lot onto the cheese on a large dish. hot or cold, this is a great salad!!

I hate it when..
i hate that the public toilets always put the toilet paper dispenser so low i can't reach up and in to get it. i hate when my son decides to come out of the bathroom naked with poop on his butt from an accident, right as someone decides to come over for a visit. i hate that my mother thinks i punish my kids too often and too severely when i was raised by a nanny and a television. i hate that she loses it and screams at them after 5 minutes of spending time with them. i hate that i worked 103 hours last week and that nice paycheck is already spent. i hate when my mom doesn't call when she flies back home, on the night that 1 plane crashes and two lose their landing gear. :grouphug: i hate that i don't have my band yet.

To All Business Owners
DeLarla, one thing I can recommend...try not to borrow money. The less debt your company can have, the greater the chances of success. Here are some stats that might scare ya, but will empower you once you make it past these marks. 92% of businesses fail in the first year. Of those that survive only 5% of them fail the second year. After three years you are looking at a miniscule number and failure is not likely. So start slow. try not to get yourself into debt. Learn to write of EVERYTHING!! get yourself a REALLY good accountant that can help you walk through all of the money aspects, and the laws of your area. and don't jump into advertising without lots of planning. advertising eventually needs to make up a large part of your budget. but you want to make sure that you start slow and do not advertise more than you can afford.

ugh i wish i could take that stuff. but i clot, so if i do i'll die. hmmmm... period or death. Back off i'm trying to decide!! LOL Pnut, you and i are both stuck in the "bitchies" lately i think. i too have been snappy, angry, mean to DH (he says he could handle it if i was wearing something tiny and leather at the time), and just all around not very nice to the kids. it is so hard to be calm and cool around a 3 and 4 year old all the time. And to beat it all to hell, my son knocked over a picture today on the counter that landed in the sink breaking my wine glass from our wedding. I am just not having a good week either. i want chocolate but i can't have that cause of this stoopid challenge!! LOL j/k

Hiatal Hernia!! WHAAAA???
I have no symptoms, but a trip to my pcp brought out the possiblity of a hernia for me as well. i have no pain, no problems, except for an inability to suck in my stomach as much as before. my pcp says that if it is there it can be repaired during the lap band surgery.
