  1. My practice says "no" on Tespo -- not enough evidence yet for them to approve it. Just one POV.
  2. I thought Kate did it for Toby -- 'cause he had surgery issues. I didn't think they handled it badly on the show, but its been a while since I saw it.
  3. Man, I love seeing February crew because then I know I'm getting closer!
  4. Hey Walter, looking good! Even better -- you seem to be FEELING better!
  5. oh, I'd like to that I got a blue tooth scale for Christmas, which I kinda love.
  6. FWIW, I am over 50 and the weight does start to add health concerns over time. For me, its osteoarthritis in my knees and hips, severe sleep apnea, high BP, high CH. Add menopause, because it exacerbates weight gain. And I'm pre-pre-diabetic. So....consider going to a seminar and starting the process -- nobody says you have to have the surgery in the end, a fair number of people on this board drop out before they cross the finish line. As part of the process, my PCP and FOUR specialists think its a great idea for me. Best wishes to you!
  7. I gotta get one of those trays... Anybody dabbling with Sous Vide? I'm finding its a game changer for shrimp, fish, chicken breasts, Starbucks egg bites.
  8. That's amazing! I have a son with type1 -- he's 6'4", 220 lbs, always worried about his weight (and his hair -- he's 25 -- need I say more??). He's 50% me -- weight may be an issue in his future.
  9. Sounds like when the kids move out -- we still overbuy stuff like lunchmeat and meats in general!!
  10. Hi Marchers, Whatcha got going on in preparation for surgery? I started PT yesterday -- 12 visits pre-scheduled before surgery to start getting into shape. It's part of my Center's "Bariatric Optimization Program", or BOP. Piggy-backed onto PT to strengthening my knees and hips. :-)
  11. What a great way to start your new year! :-)
  12. This is probably the ONE topic you should have with your surgeon instead of a message board :-)
  13. I got a thumbs down on Tespo vitamins for now -- not enough information out there yet. I'll have to go old school and dump a capful of liquid into a cup with 2 oz. water -- so old school, the horrors!! LOL
  14. Nice job on needing new clothes! I stopped buying myself clothes after intro WL seminar -- miss new stuff!!
  15. I sent my surgeon's dietitian an email to see if the composition of the vitamins in the Tespo packs is OK with them -- it is markedly different than their one approved liquid vitamin (nutrametrix).
  16. I like that Ninja -- the one with the food processor and spiralizer? I'm almost through my second 30 oz water. Now, I consider myself to be a daily water drinker, but today has been a real eye opener -- 64 ounces requires concerted effort (and I can gulp as I am 2.5 months pre-surgery)!!!
  17. Are you having bariatric surgery or a baby? Those small serving freezer containers are actually a really good idea!
  18. I had my foot reconstructed as an outpatient procedure. I can be done :-)
  19. Hey all, what cool gifts did you get for Christmas to help with your post-surgery life? I got a 30 oz Yeti, blue tooth ear buds, and a blue tooth scale. I also got some cashola -- I think I'll buy Tespo with it.
  20. Christmas is exhausting, for sure!! I love my family and friends, but it really is too much. Bah humbug, :-P
  21. You were thinking about hitting the ground running after the holidays to create the svelte, healthy, new you in 2018!
  22. That's pretty funny -- and you don't even remember it!
  23. So, I was actually shocked when my PCP mentioned it last summer. Then I did some research and I was very grateful that she did and moved forward to make it happen.
  24. Interesting question -- I've personally never understood opting for the mess of a juicer when a powerful blender (I have Vitamix) renders the entire fruit/veg to a drinkable state. I wouldn't personally opt for a separate food processor (I rarely use mine), but I did see the Ninja system at Costco last weekend and almost bought it for for my son -- seems like a GREAT deal and I think it also spiralized???
