sleevedshereen got a reaction from FluffyChix in Progress pic! 6 months post op
Hi guys! 6 months post op. Highest weight was 228 a week before surgery, current weight is 175. Before surgery I felt hopeless, I thought, "There is no way I can lose 80+ lbs." I was so unhappy in the body I was living. Couldn't look at myself in the mirror, ashamed of how I let myself go, disgusted by my food addiction. I hated myself. I was at rock bottom and completely depressed at my highest weight. I'm about 52-53 lbs down and think to myself "only 25-30 more lbs to go" that is so much more achievable than 80+lbs was. I feel, hopeful that I can lose the 25+ lbs by July "my surgiversary". I'm just getting happier and happier every day and gaining my confidence back. Here's a progress pic from right before surgery to me currently.

Go back to your post surgical stage 3 protocol. Protein, Water, Vitamins and your 10K steps. You need to refocus, recommit and start eating correctly again. You know your portions, you know the process, you just need to commit to it, and to yourself again! I know it's so hard, but you can do this!!

Also, you might want to schedule an appointment with your surgeon and see what they can suggest. You might feel embarrassed but you only have a 10lb gain right now. What if it's 20? You will be even MORE averse to going to see your surgeon. So try to recommit to the process, reconnect with your surgeon and their team and try to remember that once this ball gets rolling it's easy to keep it rolling, you can do this!!!!

The pain right now is a ten and I am nauseated. They want me to start sipping and taking oral pain medication. I am so scared of vomiting right now. I am ready for this week to be over.

I honestly never asked. I had a hiatal hernia and ulcers and suffered from heart burn and nausea every day before surgery even when I wasn't eating anything. It was really bad. Since surgery, I hadn't experienced heartburn til this month and I'm 6 months post op. I'm really grateful I did the repair.

lol I guess I'm on the opposite end of everyone in this discussion. I've been addicted to soda since before surgery and still drink it here and there. It's THE WORST habit and I need to break it because it is hindering my weight loss and my healthy lifestyle. However, I drink it and experience no problems. However I can't even finish half a can anymore because it's a lot

I,was sleeved on 7-21-2017 and I have no regrets wha t so ever! My weightg loss is slow but none the less I am very happy. I have lost 42 LB and many inches. I have went from a size 24 to an 18. But the biggest thing that I am most grateful for is that I was able to have the hernia surgery that I have waited 6 years for. Due to four abdominal surgeries I had 3 large hernias that really hindered my ability in everything I did. But no more!!! I had my hernia surgery on 12-19-2017 and it has made a huge difference in how I walk, my ability to dance again and just the overall happiness of looking down and seeing my stomach flat again!!!
Before surgery for the last 4 yrs, I did not eat, Pasta, bread, soda or fast food, so I do not miss that. I drink Water and coffee only.
I try to get at least 60gr of Protein, I eat a Protein Bar and shake everyday. But I just don't eat very much and I am very happy with that. Food was never my friend, I had guilt every time I ate and now that is gone. I pretty much eat when I am hungry and I eat what I want. Sometimes it just a few bites and I am done. I do not eat sweets at all, when I feel I want something sweet I have a sugar free cookie and that's it. My guilty pleasure is a few spicy nacho Doritos, lol. Even then it's only 5 or 6, not the whole bag.
I look forward to dancing!! I walk a lot , have lots if energy and keep thinking it can only get better.
If you look for me on Instagram you can see my journey.
And I did tell my sister's who were very supportive! I told them in October bc I knew my hernia surgery was coming up. They have been my biggest cheerleaders besides my hubby.
I am very happy and thankful everyday.

@coyote @JupiterSky thanks for the replies back guys! I'm going through so much and have given up. I eat a Protein bar in the morning, and drink a Protein Shake but everything else throughout the day I eat and drink whatever I want.
My weightloss could have been so much more by now but oh well! I can only try to be better today and moving forward.
We cannot let OTHER PEOPLE in our lives dictate how we feel anymore. Whether personal relationships with partners, family or even at work...we have come way too freaking far to let them make us feel like **** about ourselves to the point where we revert back to our old habits of eating like crap to make us feel better. We can't do that anymore.
It's so hard and easier said than done but I know we can do it.

    Good luck! xo

Just wanted to share my most recent before/current
HW was 301lbs in July 2016, though it could have been a little more since I didn't weigh regularly.
    SW: 271 (12/30/16)
    CW: 185
    GW: 175, then reassess.
The left picture was October 2016 at about 275 lbs while working my pre-op diet. The right was Monday at 185 lbs.

I own it. Doll myself up at work. Walk down the hallways like it's a runway and when ppl compliment how good I look or say wow you have lost so much weight. I say THANK YOU! I've lost 51lbs. I'm awesome right?! lol
I just own it. I am more confident and proud of how much i've lost and how i'm looking these days!
Obviously, everyone is different and others are shy or uncomfortable because we've hid from everyone and ourselves for so long in our old bodies. But now is the time to practice self love and own that you look great! xo

You all sound like you're doing amazing. I've lost 51lbs since surgery but you guys, I must say that I have been the worst. I eat whatever I want and don't exercise. My addiction to soda has not stopped either. I've been dealing with some stressful personal things in my life and I eat fast food and drink soda to make me feel better. I keep thinking that if I lost 51lbs and I haven't changed my habits, imagine how much I could have lost or still could lose if I eat better and worked out just a little. I don't drink enough Water and I don't eat enough Protein. I told myself starting today I'd be better so I had a Protein Bar with 30g of protein and a Protein Shake with 30g of protein and it's about lunch time for me. I'm gonna be better this year. I will reach goal in a few months, I know it!

I love it. Thank you for being human and honest with people. I myself have been a little on the no no side when it comes to bread and sugar. I did great up until the Ol' Holidays. I have lost 70 pounds since July 10th. So in a couple of days it will be 6 months. Ever since winter hit i don't get out and do my walking so i think 70 pounds is fantastic considering i don't follow the diet like i should. If i applied myself i could do so much better. I just wanted to say that we are human and mess up but everyday gives us a new day to do better than we did yesterday. I feel great and i am going to try to get my Water in and Protein first. We never give up on ourselves. Love the one who can't follow the diet. Love the one that can't do one more glass of water. No need to bring negative feelings into it to make you struggle with gilt. We are beautiful and strong and diverse. love and Light to all and may you succeed in everything you do.
