  1. Hehehehe this thread feels like soft porn. Incredibly entertaining.
  2. I'm 8 days out and I do feel better. Thanks so much for the prayers, thoughts and checking in. I've been contending with this never ending hunger but just spoke w my surgeon and we'll see what protein shakes may help. La lucha sigue.
  3. I'm just constantly hungry. I sometimes feel I had a placebo surgery ☹️ I'm 7 days post op
  4. I get the gas bubble feeling anytime I imbibe anything even medicine. I have to do a lot of burping and walking to reset. My actual stomach doesn't cramp much though but I feel (in a greatly exaggerated manner) the route my food takes. I'm 7 days post op.
  5. I feel the same. Although I'm still not able to get my 64oz of water in, I feel constantly thirsty. I've always been a big water guzzler and Before surgery I could easily drink a gallon in a day but now I'm constantly thirsty and hungry, not able to drink enough but can't seem to shake the thirst either. I'm so lost.
  6. I wish I had known that I'd still be dreadfully hungry after surgery. I'm exactly a week out and the soups and liquids are doing NOTHING to sate my hunger. I keep sneaking in solids like meat but that's a monster to digest. I'm miserable because I'm constantly drinking but feel like I'm starving. Although protein shakes kill the hunger, I can no longer stand the processed taste and it automatically induces nausea. I wish there was a way I could make an all natural protein dense liquid meal.
  7. How are you feeling today?
  8. Omg!!! This is horrible!!!! I had surgery 2 days ago and although my entire team says I'm improving daily, I honestly feel like [emoji90]. Everything makes me wanna throw up. Ice cubes, tea, incentive spirometer, sitting, standing, laying.... everything. I haven't felt this sick since I was a child w malaria. I am able to walk but even that comes with some serious nausea. I'm not at all happy w my current situation [emoji30]
  9. I'm so excited!!! My surgery is just around the corner. I'm so grateful to God and pray all will go well. Off to bed now.
  10. Hi, welcome and congrats!! My surgery is also 8/28 like you #twinsies and I'm currently on my liquid diet phase. Sorry I haven't any advice about the pain afterwards but you should be fine. We should be fine afterwards. Check in after surgery. I will too. Best of luck.
  11. Welcome. I lurked too for a while and now I'm really excited to be sleeved on 8/28. Congrats on taking the first step. I'm sure it'll be a really great choice at the end of it all.
  12. The liquid diet scares the crap out of me.
  13. Of course I tested positive for the H-Pylori bacteria/gastritis and now have to be on medication to cure me before surgery. I was prescribed and took proton inhibitors and antibiotics this morning at work and shortly thereafter began feeling serious nausea and pain in my stomach. It was so bad that I had a trash can in front on me JIC I had to throw up. Luckily it passed and I've taken another dose tonight with some spacing (pro inh on an empty stomach and antibiotics 2hrs later on a full stomach) and so far nothing is going awry. I'm just so scared it may reoccur. Did anyone have to deal with this?
  14. Best of luck !!! I've also shunned social media ( definitely not to the same extent as you) and feel like this outlet will do more good than harm. I hope all gets approved with your insurance and you get your surgery date soon. I just got my surgery date and the wait till surgery is a different kind of anxiety lol. Suerte!!!
  15. Welcome and good luck. Curious though, what is GHI?
  16. [emoji33][emoji33] oh my!!! Did they get rid of the fat they cut off the stomach too? My goodness now the reality of surgery is hitting me.
  17. Oh that's complex and tough. I'm pre-op and have no advice but I do hope you feel better. Best of luck !!!
  18. Wow, very impressive. Congrats and good luck !!!!
  19. Oh great! I don't have too much of a belly so that's a plus. I gained most of my weight in the past couple of years and lost some flexibility/bendyness [emoji5] and I'm really looking to get that back. Also I will need to get on some kinda birth control perhaps an IUD because I've never been one to manage contraception well. I want an option I can totally forget about.
  20. Silly question but I'm really curious if sex changes after WLS? I mean both physically and mentally. Is there a notable change in body elasticity, flexibility etc. in my mind I'm thinking it'll be a significant difference like after childbirth (I don't have kids) I suspect it'll be more varied physically but I'm really really curious if the physical changes messes w the head. I kinda don't wanna be thrown by any surprises? Btw, I'm pre-op and usually single but definitely not a novice. I feel like it's an incredibly silly question but I'd appreciate both male and female perspectives.
