  1. I used that diet on the 6 months leading up to my 2week liquid pre-op diet. My liver was pink, and normal. The RD told me that using that kind of diet as a tool is very good for getting rid of fatty liver. I tried to keep carbs below 30 total per day and tried to hit my protein goal without going over of 74g. For you it would probably be 80-90g. Too much protein will turn into glucose at about a 50% conversion ratio.
  2. You look ahhhh-MAY-zing!! Miss ya hon and hope you are well! (You know, btw, every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man, don't you? ) Congrats to your mom btw. That's fantastic!!
  3. I was approved for either one. I came out with the surgery I wanted (RNY). I followed the instructions to a T with minimal bad behavior. LOL. And no cheats in the 2week preop. She said it was an easy surgery. If you haven't had abdominal surgery before and really follow the rules, it should theoretically be fine.
  4. Yeah. But I like big poops and I cannot lie!
  5. Most of those are sliders. And in my experience, it takes a while to feel the restriction from your RNY. I kinda "think" the nerves have to wake up. That's why it is really important to follow your plan and only eat the quantities it tells you to eat. Also, eating as low carb as possible will help with the hunger. Hang in there!
  6. How about using a flavored tea bag without sweetener? I love the Celestial Seasoning Cinnamon Apple Spice combined with decaff unflavored green tea. 1 bag of each to a pot of brewed hot tea. Tastes great hot or cold.
  7. I just saw my PS and he won't do anything until: 1. I've lost ALL my weight. 2. Have been at my final goal weight for 3 months without changes. *and he's being kind about the 3 months, cuz he usually requires 6 months without changes.
  8. Girlfriend...I know we all look diff to ourselves with our clothes off..but you look so dang tiny in all your photos. And you KNOW photos add 10lbs! Where's your belly? Cuz I don't see it. I just see a precious figure and beautiful face! ((hugs)) And I gotta say, having "I gotta big butt and I cannot lie" and having no butt...I would NOT want to purchase another one of those mofos ever again. I'm diggin losing my ass and it being flat!
  9. The magic equation: Miralax + 3 Colace + 11g whole psyllium husk + 1 GG brancrisp cracker/1tbsp almond butter at bedtime + plenty of greens and low glycemic veg per day + 100oz liquids = throne nirvana
  10. Well...you can always buy tits and ass, but losing your belly? Wait for it... Priceless...
  11. I see a diff in your tummy girlie! Bravo! You look FABULOUS dahling!!!
  12. Ok, catching up. #1 Ha! Pasted @GreenTealael post to inspire brevity and cuz it was so great and concise! Then forgot to remove it! Derp! I'm not hebrew--I'm Irish/Cath. I'm a semi-obsessed amateur nutritionist with 3 clients: me, myself, and I. I love long walks by the lake, intermittent fasting, eating clean, hanging out binge-watching Netflix, going to Skeeters games, and cooking and laughing with family and friends. I enjoy spending all day playing mah jong (sp?), hearts, and 42 and the occasional glass of deep red wine. Day 1... RNY Feb 20, 2018; still losing VERRRRY slowly... Feb 1st weight: 147.2 lbs Feb Challenge Goals: a) Complete No Junk food Challenge b) Partially Complete Exercise Challenge d) Partially Complete the Public Self-Love Challenge (I'm gonna half ass this as usual. Good luck with getting facial recognition on me. I don't intend to give you that many target points. ha! As if! Take that Google and FB!) Feb Weight Goals: a) 144lbs : this will move me out of the "overweight" BMI range and into healthy. I was there for a hot minute one day (after a huge poop. So here's hoping to see that again! b) 140 lbs : this will take me all the way to Goal #2. I haven't been 140lbs since I was 18 years old. (I wore a size 6 and thought I was so fat...*sigh*) January 31, 2019: #2. The eyes have it. These are totally my grandmother's eyes with maybe the milkman's eye color. I see her and my daddy when I look at my eyes. #3 Generosity. I'm generous with myself, my time/talents/possessions, etc. #4 Being different--the square peg that doesn't fit in very often and being overly passionate about things and then beating myself up for being so outspoken and different.
  13. Congrats and welcome!!! I'm doing a 16:8 today--maybe even a 20:4. Cheers!
  14. I had no complications. But, I sure as hell (especially self-pay) wouldn't get any WLS without having an EGD and a barium swallow to make sure that I don't have undiagnosed GERD/Reflux or any esophageal issues. That's like making a huge change to your body on a blind bet. Yikes!
  15. Have you had a very large, very satisfying poop? Chances are you are backed up...but you can never be sure in this situation. You are probably far enough out that surgical gas is not the cause, but your intestines are "whack" for a while. And can cause great pain and cramping. But that can also be from other surgical reasons too. Call your doc. Generally if you can eat and drink and keep things down and keep well hydrated and don't have to medicate with opiods to control the pain it's a normal thing for the biggest percentage of folks. But there are complications...
  16. You look fabulous!!! Had to laugh at the 146months part.
  17. You can eat that NOW. But let me tell you. Your anatomy WILL mature. And you will find that bread, crackers, chips, et al WILL act like slider foods and go straight down your gullet without making you feel full. And since you didn't bother to break the habit while it was "easy" and you had your restriction, you will suffer. And will end up trying to "diet" while still continuing to push the rock uphill--rather than taking this time to divorce yourself from the problem foods that got you fat in the first place.
  18. I'm here to tell you that if at 10weeks, you can ALREADY handle getting all your protein in from food, AND get some veg in, AND eat carby bread? You need to go talk to your doc and RD. Cuz you've got big trouble in River City. Also this is your HONEYMOON PERIOD. Seriously. Don't squander the fu*k out of it by going back to the foods that got you all the way to the Obesity Ball the first time!!! Dude! Serious rationalization going down in your head. Own it. Change it. Or be potentially doomed to experience never reaching goal, and regaining your weight. The End. Live well.

  20. I personally wouldn't be looking to fill your dance card up with carbs. At soft stage you are still just trying to get your protein in. Concentrate on soft proteins only.
  21. That's about right. Focus on getting the protein in and keeping the carbs low. You're right on track. Congrats on losing 44lbs!!
  22. IKR???!!!! I'm feel light as a feather, like dancing and being goofy! I know I still have some uh, lurkers still hangin with me, but it feels much more manageable the last 2 days.
