Yeah LoL, I wasn't faint or anything like that but I had the pouch pain and the drooly slimy stuff. The vomiting and pain was off and on for about an hour.

Wow. So I'm 6 weeks out and grilled some killer baby back ribs thinking that because they are soft I would be okay... WRONG. Not more than 5 bites into it I start feeling sick. Then the terrible pain starts. So I'm outside waiting for the inevitable and here it comes. Barfed and dry heaved a few times and then proceeded to go back inside and barf another 3 times. I thought I was in the clear from dumping but apparently not so be careful and once it happens you will pray it never happens again LoL.

I'm 3 weeks post op...I do Protein Shakes - I also have greek yogurts and refried Beans with cheese and to treat myself....wait for it....I take a spoon of Peanut Butter and lick it....lol it's bomb, refreshing since I was on liquids forever and I get more Protein in...just some suggestions - hopefully the expert sleevers don't criticize me for this lol.

Hello everyone! I'm about three weeks post-op. The journey has been tough, yet enlightening so far. Just joined the site, and love to see all the feedback from everyone. I do have a question. I know not having an appetite is normal, but when does that fade? Any suggestions on what Protein to start with without doing the shakes?

I think you guys are talking about Gall Stones. I am taking a med called Ursodiol twice a day for 6 months to prevent gallbladder stones due to rapid weight loss.

I had my share of food funerals lol. I gained some weight from that and re-lost the weight even though they did weigh me and took note of that but they didn't send that information to my insurance. They just recorded the losses and sent those in. I had the same mentality but snapped out of it.

Sounds like gas pain. I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital until I passed gas, which didn't happen until my discharge day. I had the surgery on a Friday and was discharged Sunday and during my stay I walked a lot. Once that happened I felt a lot better and had gas for the next couple of days. Eating and drinking became easier. I am now on day 16 post op and have no problems eating or drinking. My pain level is almost a zero and today I got caught up with the grass mowing and weed wacking with no issues. I would try walking more to get the gas moving and expelled.

whoa.... at your high weight you were barely two bills and you got gastric bypass? hey, that's cool.
but that's also why you "only" lost 16lbs. that's 8% of your freakin body weight. that'd be like me losing 28lbs my first month!
you're not very big to begin with. if you see people on here talking about 30lbs lost in the first month they are usually male and around 400lbs.
comparitively, you are actually outpacing a 400lb guy who lost 30. hell i wrapped up my first month today and i lost 24. and i was/am ecstatic. and i'm way way bigger than you! do you see what i'm saying here?
focus on your emotional health. the weight loss will come in time. you need to focus on getting your soul right...

Fredmeister got a reaction from StorminJ in New to the forum and recent Gastric Bypass
Hello, I was a long time lurker before my surgery and finally decided to join. Had my Gastric Bypass on 7/14/17 and so far so good. Definitely looking forward to Monday when I can start the puree part of the diet and finally have some food with "taste" lol. In 2014 I weighed 415 pounds and my doctor mentioned the option of WLS which at first scared me to death. After a while I decided it was the right thing to do for myself to get back in shape. I weighed 389 at the start of my 10 day pre-op diet, lost approx 25 pounds and weighed 366 on surgery day. Went to my family doc's yesterday and weighed in at 353.5 which is exciting. The shrinking has begun! lol
