  5. Yeah LoL, I wasn't faint or anything like that but I had the pouch pain and the drooly slimy stuff. The vomiting and pain was off and on for about an hour.
  6. Wow. So I'm 6 weeks out and grilled some killer baby back ribs thinking that because they are soft I would be okay... WRONG. Not more than 5 bites into it I start feeling sick. Then the terrible pain starts. So I'm outside waiting for the inevitable and here it comes. Barfed and dry heaved a few times and then proceeded to go back inside and barf another 3 times. I thought I was in the clear from dumping but apparently not so be careful and once it happens you will pray it never happens again LoL.

  11. Mmmmmm refried beans! I melt some mild cheddar on mine and then a good dose of Frank's Red Hot.
  12. Sounds like maybe you're not getting enough hydration during the day. I make sure to get at least the 64 oz of water in per day. I also use a cpap.

  14. I'm in the same boat as you as far as appetite. I figured I would have to force myself to eat after surgery but I get hungry throughout the day.

  16. After reading that article I wonder why my surgeon never mentioned kidney stones. I already drank a lot of water before surgery and maybe because of that he felt I wasn't at risk. Good information though. Thanks.

  18. I think you guys are talking about Gall Stones. I am taking a med called Ursodiol twice a day for 6 months to prevent gallbladder stones due to rapid weight loss.
  19. I think you will be happy with the bypass. I too had bad GERD and was talked into the bypass from originally wanting the sleeve. I was taking prevacid every day and popping rolaids like candy. I'm now 16 days post op and absolutely no heartburn or burping. I'm also able to use my old friend Frank's Red Hot hot sauce lol! I wasn't able to use Frank's for years and now I use it every day with no problems.

  21. Hello, sorry to hear you're still having issues after 6 weeks. I haven't had any problems eating or drinking but I'm still on the puree stage of my diet. I don't know how long you were told to stay on the puree foods stage but I'm on it for 20 days. Maybe try puree foods for a while and see how you feel, you might not be healed enough for more solid textures but I would call your nutritionist and or your surgeon and let them know you're having discomfort. Best of luck to you.

  24. Sounds like gas pain. I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital until I passed gas, which didn't happen until my discharge day. I had the surgery on a Friday and was discharged Sunday and during my stay I walked a lot. Once that happened I felt a lot better and had gas for the next couple of days. Eating and drinking became easier. I am now on day 16 post op and have no problems eating or drinking. My pain level is almost a zero and today I got caught up with the grass mowing and weed wacking with no issues. I would try walking more to get the gas moving and expelled.

  28. Greetings, I am 1 week post-op and ready to start my puree foods. I can tell you I really liked the ready to drink Muscle Milk Chocolate protein shake, drink it cold and it was really good. Also try Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt-mixed berry and strawberry were the best but stay away from the chocolate! EEEWWWW is all I can say about that awful stuff lol. Chicken noodle soup is very tasty just strain it first, it's a lot better than broth. Hope that helps.
