  1. I hope your flight was a quick one. Good luck! Let's us know how you're doing.
  2. I'm in the Twin Cities, MN. I'm so ready to get banded and on with life! Woo hoo!
  3. My surgery is on Thursday. I have to take Milk of Magnesia on Tuesday night and a liquid diet on Wednesday.
  4. That's exciting news! Good luck! I'm on Thursday too.
  5. Good luck everyone! I'll be joining your on Thursday. :rolleyes2:
  6. Thank goodness they rescheduled! I would much rather have to wait an extra week or two than face the possibility of cardiac arrest! I know it's frustrating when you are ready to go. Count your blessings and have a great surgery on the 18th!
  7. Yes, I had to do the 6-mo dr supervised diet too. The time went faster than I thought it would. I'm glad I had that time to do more research and develop some good relationships with a local group of banders. I feel very ready for my surgery on the 17th. Use this time to your advantage. Learn all you can and then ask more questions and learn some more! Good luck!
  8. My chiropractor told me to live with him for 4 mos and he would make sure I lose all the weight. He's very athletic and I'm sure he would be a really hard personal trainer, however, I have a life. What would I tell my husband, kids and boss? Not to mention his wife and kids! LOL He has since been very supportive of my decision to be banded.
  9. My dr prescribed Nystatin cream and Nystatin powder. Sometimes the cream works better and other times the powder is better - especially when I do a lot of sweaty workouts. Make sure your dr documents that you are having a re-occuring infection in this area for documentation for the ins to cover the plastic surgery.
  10. I was told they use your BMI from your original weight, before you started losing on the 6-mo diet. You are doing great!
  11. Looks like he's teaching a version of the short-cut my therapist taught me. He has it in a bit of different order too.
  12. What is EFT? Try this link...
  13. Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I hope your recovery continues to go well. :Dancing_wub:
  14. I have BCBS of MN and also had to do the 6 mos dr supervised weight loss. I used that time to do as much research and talk to as many people about the band and wls in general as I could. I feel very confident with my decision to get the band in a week and a half. The 6 mos went by very quickly. It was worth the wait. I feel I'm very well prepared for the surgery and my life with the band. Good luck to you!
  15. My therapist taught me EFT a few months ago. It really works. I use it almost daily on anything that is stressing me out - work, crabby husband, headache and head hunger. The pressure points are suppose to "reset" your mind so to speak. I do feel much calmer after I do the routine.
  16. Good luck today! Let us know how you are doing when you can!
  17. Good luck everyone having surgery today! Keep us posted on how things go! TGIF
  18. Congrats! My date is the 17th as well. Good luck!
  19. That really stinks! I hope your insurance will tell you it's okay to switch drs at this point. Good luck!
  20. That's fantastic! Losing weight on any vacation is great, but 5 lbs?! Good for you.
  21. April 3--GiGiRN, ebowling, alicia99, p3photogal,BigBandFan(Amy) Good luck to you all having surgery today! I'm so excited for you. My thoughts are with you for a quick recovery. Post about your experience when you can. :biggrin2:
  22. Think about reaching your goal...now, what one word do you imagine will describe the new you?! My word is svelte: Slender or graceful in figure or outline; slim. I've always loved saying that word. Now I want to be it!
  23. Wow, that was a quick in and out. Sounds like you're doing very well. Congrats on being banded! Happy walking and sipping your water!
  24. My red thongs were the first thing I put in the bag. Just kidding! Travelgirl - how sweet of your niece!
