    The milk of magnesia worked! Thanks everyone - I definitely need to hydrate more, I'm trying to drink as much as possible. I go anywhere from 40-64oz. And that's not good enough. Working on it though!

    So I've been on a 3 day stall now and can't figure it out. Well, it might have to do with not having a BM in a while. I took some milk of magnesia this morning I pray it works. It's been 2 weeks and I take a stool softener every day so I'm starting to freak out. Any advice?

    I know it seems very long! Day 14 I started pureed and day 21 I'll get to start soft foods.

    Pureed Foods

    I'm 3 weeks post op and 1 week into "Stage 2: Pureed Foods" and let me tell ya: I DON'T LIKE IT! I'm over it. My nutritionist has advised no carbs, so I'm not eating delicious mashed foods like mashed potatoes, any baked cheese dishes, etc. Just pureed turkey, pureed tuna AKA tuna soup and pureed chicken. I did purée a couple soups that were high in protein which were actually good. I'd rather go back to liquids for the remaining week! Looking forward to "Stage 3: Soft Foods" and I am desperately craving a salad. Raw veggies might be later down the road, though. But I am ready to try more foods!     Solid Foods/6 weeks post op

    Hi all - I'm about 3.5 weeks out and I was wondering if sometimes you feel absolutely famished and other days you can barely finish your protein shake? Yesterday, for the first time, I ate 2 4oz meals and my protein shake and today I can barely get down my shake! What's the deal? These recipes you all provided make me excited for soft foods next week!

    Yup, I weighed myself the day I had the surgery when I was walking around with the nurse and it said I gained 4 pounds. Took a few days to lose it but totally normal. Lots of swelling and fluids going on!
  10. I'm going through the same thing. My muscles are definitely still healing and I can't wait for the pain to stop and I can wear jeans that don't dig into my incisions.

    Emotional Rollercoaster

    I'm really emotional today. Mixed emotions but mostly sad and feeling left out of the holiday fun. pureed foods start tomorrow, not really excited for that either.

    Feeling sad today

    I feel the EXACT same way. I was sleeved 11/9 and I have the same burning sensation in the same spot. Then I twisted wrong last week and have so much pain between my rib and hip on the same side. I called my surgical team today and my nurse practitioner said it's all normal. We just had major abdominal surgery and healing is going to be painful. I had a cry-fest today, too. Not because I'm missing out on food. But the socializing aspect. Everyone's drinking and having a great time around the holiday and I just feel so alone and sad. I don't want to sit at a bar and drink water when I'm in pain and can't enjoy myself. I do not regret my surgery, I just wish I could heal faster so I feel more of a normal person. Getting a little depressed but I know this is temporary. I start pureed foods tomorrow and I don't even care. I'd rather just stick to water

    Is goat cheese a part of the pureed phase? Everyone's diet is different but curious if this all falls under pureed bc it's so soft if melts.
